Question from Hawthornele (17:15, 31 March 2025)
Hi Rosiestep,
Where can I find instructions on adding a section (Bibliography specifically) and updating the Box-out information? In general, I'm not sure how to search Wiki specifically for editing support - I appreciate your guidance. Thanks! --Hawthornele (talk) 17:15, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
- found the info as soon as I asked! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hawthornele (talk • contribs) 10:53, March 31, 2025 (UTC)
- No worries, Hawthornele. They were good questions! Adding this info here in case it's helpful for a pagestalker. --Rosiestep (talk) 21:22, 31 March 2025 (UTC)
Hello
Hi Rosiestep, I hope you’re doing well! I just wanted to take a moment to say that your work has truly been an inspiration for me. I come from a small, often-overlooked corner of India—Northeast India—and I had joined Wikipedia to share the stories, culture, and history of our region and its people. Your contributions to wikipedia had motivated me to help bring greater awareness to where I come from, and for that, I’m really grateful. It all started after I binge watched a Youtube Video about you.
Thank you for being such a positive influence. I just wanted to say hi and let you know that your work matters. Here are some of the articles I had worked on: Hannah Lalhlanpuii, Kaitho Sukhai, Shania Yan, Theyiechüthie Sakhrie.
Best regards, Flyingphoenixchips (talk) 02:17, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
- Nice to hear form you, Flyingphoenixchips, and thanks for the kind words. Also, thanks for what you do around here! --Rosiestep (talk) 21:47, 1 April 2025 (UTC)

My story today is about an opera singer born OTD in 1870. I have problems to say something as informative about Mirella Freni, as the DYK nom shows. -Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:07, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
Nevermind, the hook was improved. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:14, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
- I certainly enjoyed reading about both of them, particularly Fausta Labia. Ipigott, regarding FL, I'm curious as to why the Italian cities and the opera composers weren't wikilinked. I ask as I would have wikilinked them, but maybe I'm missing the reason why not to do so. --Rosiestep (talk) 14:24, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
- Without looking: to avoid too much blue. Rome should never be linked; when an opera house is linked there's no need to link its city also (people who want to read about Venice will find it in La Fenice), and when an opera is linked whoever wants the composer's life can turn to the opera. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:37, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the ping, Rosie. I regard Gerda as something of an expert on Wikipedia's coverage of opera (and other forms of classical and choral music). She has provided me with enormous help in improving my biographies of numerous insufficiently recognized opera singers I'm glad to see you enjoyed reading Labia's biography.--Ipigott (talk) 16:03, 3 April 2025 (UTC)

- Oui, tout. Et... enjoyed reading the one beneath it, the monk and musician, Notker. --Rosiestep (talk) 14:24, 7 April 2025 (UTC)
- today: a woman in red, - Notker was last year's sorry. I don't come every day, but a click on story gives you a new one each day ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:40, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, last year's; I noticed the date and read it nonetheless. :) --Rosiestep (talk) 12:46, 12 April 2025 (UTC)
- I missed it: WT:DYK#Good Friday. After I heard Bach's St John Passion yesterday (see music), it occurred to me that I missed the work in prep, by a great woman inspired by it. - A cat in the pics. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:01, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
- We all get busy sometimes. I hope you enjoy the celebrations over the long weekend. --Rosiestep (talk) 15:46, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- Check out my talk: for a great woman's Johannes-Passion (listen!), our sung music in detail, and three people who recently died and are on the main page (where she isn't). My call for collaboration has the first "no", and the second - for the Easter Oratorio - seems inevitable. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:38, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- Read all 3 articles associated with An die Hoffnung (Max Reger, Friedrich Hölderlin, Anna Erler-Schnaudt). Happy Easter! --Rosiestep (talk) 16:19, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
- Great that you became interested! - What a beauty, your Easter cat! - Happy Easter as well, - my story is about music that Bach and Picander gave the world 300 years (and 19 days) ago, - listen (on the conductor's birthday) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:02, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
- I wrote my story today and then found it's the person's funeral day. - I hated to see DYK for Johannes-Passion (Gubaidulina) today instead of Good Friday, but it seems also right in the context. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:54, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
- I finally managed to upload the pics I meant for Easter, see places (no cat but an animal). - Also finally, I managed a FAC, Easter Oratorio. I wanted that on the main page for Easter Sunday, but no, twice. You are invited to join a discussion about what "On this day" means, day or date. - The Bogotá cat is wonderful! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:49, 25 April 2025 (UTC)

Question from AMF93 (17:37, 4 April 2025)
How do I edit the URL and change the name of a page? --AMF93 (talk) 17:37, 4 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi AMF93 and thanks for stopping by. Basically, when you change the name of a page, the url automatically changes. Here's how to do it. --Rosiestep (talk) 17:50, 4 April 2025 (UTC)

Backdated maintenance tags
I'm wondering why you're adding so many backdated "one source" tags - for example, {{one source|date=August 2020}} - to Max Ehinger and many others? Is this a copy/paste oversight? Ingratis (talk) 10:43, 9 April 2025 (UTC)
- To clarify, it's the backdating that puzzles me rather than the placing of the tags as such. Ingratis (talk) 15:34, 9 April 2025 (UTC)
(watching:) I fail anyway to understand why more than one ref would be even expected for one sentence, with a tag occupying more space than the sentence + ref. Most readers will be able to count that at a glance, and it seems not even a problem. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:19, 9 April 2025 (UTC)
- @Ingratis and Gerda Arendt:, thanks for noticing my gnomish work as part of my participation in the European Destubathon. It's a habit of mine to backdate to the article creation month if what's missing can factually be traced to that date, e.g., it's not something I do automatically or as an oversight. In addition to "one source", you'll see that I follow the same process for "no footnotes", "unref", etc. As for "one source" template for a 1 sentence article: IMO, it's a slippery slope to make allowance for 1 ref for 1 sentence. By adding the tag, some editor who wouldn't otherwise view the article will view it and, hopefully, not just add another ref, but also add more content. Of course, editors are welcome to revert or edit my edits as they please. --Rosiestep (talk) 17:26, 9 April 2025 (UTC)
- I'd just prefer cat work to you wasting time on saying "1 is 1 ...". A stub tag should do the same trick, no? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:29, 9 April 2025 (UTC)
- That would make sense, but alas, a stub tag doesn't necessarily accomplish the same thing. See Category:Swiss writer stubs where, last night, I tagged many articles that were created more than a dozen years ago. Also, destubbed the ones that weren't a stub anymore. Also, made gnomish improvement edits to some of the stubs. --Rosiestep (talk) 17:37, 9 April 2025 (UTC)
- I've moved on to reviewing European sociologist stubs where I just encountered Yngvar Løchen; multiple sentences, 1 source, created in 2008 by an editor who now has 131K+ edits. If it were tagged with "one source" and "April 2024", it might be many years before someone reviewed it, vs. "October 2008". Alternatively, not tag it. --Rosiestep (talk) 17:54, 9 April 2025 (UTC)

- Thanks for the explanation of the backdating, which is what I was asking about - I see your reasoning, although I don't know, to be honest, whether I agree with it. My main concern was to check if it was accidental or not, and since it's not, I'll mind my own business! Ingratis (talk) 18:22, 9 April 2025 (UTC)
- Ingratis I'm not opposed to using the nifty template tagger, which does the job more quickly/easily, and I'm willing to learn from other points of view. Ergo, curious as to your thoughts on backdating. Care to share? --Rosiestep (talk) 13:34, 10 April 2025 (UTC)
- My reservation, apart from a general unhappiness about adding false information, for whatever reason, is that if you backdate the maintenance templates the affected articles will indeed, as you anticipate, generally come to be reviewed sooner, but they will not have had the length of exposure they should have had. If you backdate something to 2010, for example, it will not have had the 15 intervening years for someone to improve it before being reviewed and probably PRODded or AfDed. (You may or may not find that convincing!) Best wishes, Ingratis (talk) 12:40, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
- Ingratis, I'm glad I asked the question. It never occurred to me to consider these points. Thanks for sharing. --Rosiestep (talk) 14:42, 11 April 2025 (UTC)

Question from DeadMeat778 (19:30, 11 April 2025)
Hey, I want to create an article, i wanted to ask if these sources are good to use for article creation? Or they do not count as a reliable source? https://moneygenius.ca/insurance/home-insurance/square-one-home-insurance https://loanscanada.ca/insurance/square-one-insurance-review/ --DeadMeat778 (talk) 19:30, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi DeadMeat778 and thanks for stopping by. These are good questions. Both of the examples (moneygenius.ca; loanscanada.ca) are primary sources. So the answer is 'no', they would not count as a reliable source. Here are some links which provide explanations on self-published works; primary sources; and the differences between primary, secondary, and tertiary sources. I'll leave some additional links for newcomers on your talkpage. Thanks for joining Wikipedia and happy editing! --Rosiestep (talk) 12:46, 12 April 2025 (UTC)

OK, I've left you less than 200 bytes to destub it and add it to the list! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:31, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
- And done! It's been a long time since I worked on Asturias-related articles. Nice memory. Happy Easter! --Rosiestep (talk) 16:19, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks! Yes, a Happy Easter to you! The year is flying! I'll try to find some time to expand a few more Spanish stubs in the last 10 days of the contest. So much content still missing on buildings from Spanish Wikipedia. Perhaps I should run a global article creation contest next, that would greatly help WIR too. Is there a general missing articles list by country on here like you have at WIR? It would take a long time to build a decent one for a contest manually.♦ Dr. Blofeld 07:53, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
- Good idea, but I bet it's a lot of work! WiR, by country, here: Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Redlist index#Countries. Now I need to get some sleep... --Rosiestep (talk) 08:22, 20 April 2025 (UTC)

Question from Yehudaninyo (15:29, 19 April 2025)
Hi, I’d like to create a new article on Wikipedia about an Israeli artist and scientist whose work in contemporary art has gained international recognition. I believe she has made a meaningful contribution to both culture and science. I’ve already drafted a page about her — can you please guide me on how to properly submit it as a new article? Thanks in advance! --Yehudaninyo (talk) 15:29, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Yehudaninyo and thanks for stopping by. Here's a page with instructions regarding your first article and here's a video on the topic. --Rosiestep (talk) 16:34, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
Question from Kritzerdagoat (00:56, 22 April 2025)
can you find some small and easy articles for me to edit so i can start editing better? thanks, from yk who,-Kritzerdagoat --Kritzerdagoat (talk) 00:56, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Kritzerdagoat and thanks for your question. Small articles on Wikipedia are called "Stubs", maybe you'd like to expand some of them, though I'm not suggesting that adding content is "easy" as you have to include references when you add content. As I noticed your comment on the 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations talkpage, here are links to some football Stub categories: Category:Nigerian sport stubs / Category:South African sport stubs. Regarding "easy" edits, maybe you'd like to add categories to existing articles? Here's an index to articles that need more categories: Category:Articles needing additional categories. If you provide more information about your interests, I'll come up with some other suggestions. --Rosiestep (talk) 03:30, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
Question from Kritzerdagoat (22:10, 22 April 2025)
Its ya boy, Kritzerdagoat, enough with the jokes for now, i added some minor things to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jay_Jay_Okocha_Stadium, please rate the stuff i added, thank you for your help. From ya boy-Kritzerdagoat --Kritzerdagoat (talk) 22:10, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi again Kritzerdagoat. I see that you made 1 edit to the Jay Jay Okocha Stadium article, adding 2 sentences but no reference(s) so the next step is to please add the reliable source(s) that support what you added. A video to help you with this: how to add citations. Keep at it! --Rosiestep (talk) 03:04, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

Question from JoanJMastin (07:16, 24 April 2025)
I want to start editing on Wikipedia, can you please guide me. --JoanJMastin (talk) 07:16, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi JoanJMastin and welcome to Wikipedia! I left you a message on your talkpage with links to some helpful guidance. Also, if you scroll to the top of my talkpage (the page you're on now), I have a section called "Newbie Central" with links to videos that have guidance for new editors. --Rosiestep (talk) 11:53, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
Question from Richcaldicott (15:12, 26 April 2025)
Hi, Rose.
I just tried to submit a page for Boycat, the Palestinian BDS Partner App. However, my submission was declined. Could you help me out with this?
Best, Richard --Richcaldicott (talk) 15:12, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Richcaldicott and thanks for your question. The editor who reviewed your draft article of Boycat (BDS Partner App) mentioned what the issues are with the current state of the article (reliable sources) so my recommendation is to comply with what they said. As the article is about computing technology, you might ask for further assistance at Wikipedia:WikiProject Computing. --Rosiestep (talk) 12:16, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
Question from NewsDoseMania (06:33, 28 April 2025)
I have similar pages which can support the pages of wikipedia. Can I add those links in the middle of the pages? --NewsDoseMania (talk) 06:33, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hello NewsDoseMania. Not exactly sure what you mean, but what we do around here is improve Wikipedia articles by [[Wikipedia:Editing policy#Adding information to Wikipedia|adding information from reliable sources. Is that what you're asking? --Rosiestep (talk) 12:43, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
From the bottom of my heart, a kindly request
¡Hola, Naturista2018!
I saw that you are a versatile wiki user, with multiple skills to make things go better, through your native understanding of Spanish and advanced knowledge of English, French, Romanian, etc. I would like to ask you to help me fix a technical error regarding two footnotes on the page https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dumitru_Găleșanu
I tried a few times to enter the correct necessary change texts, but something prevents me from completing the operation. At the following address - https://es.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usuario_discusi%C3%B3n:HaiciuM#Cerere_de_ajutor_pentru_remediere_erori_la_2_Note_de_subsol
- I asked for the support of the original editor, user:HaiciuM, but he didn't answer me. He is probably no longer active at the moment or is temporarily in charge of other wiki projects. By consulting that address, you will certainly understand what it is about. Otherwise, I will send you the application for help translated from Romanian into English.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart and I remain grateful! Adlingvist Adlingvist (talk) 07:50, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Adlingvist, and thanks for reaching out, but actually, I have no understanding of the Romanian language. Also, I don't have a native understanding of Spanish, nor do I edit Spanish Wikipedia very often (but I do translate articles from Spanish to English Wikipedia). If you need assistance regarding the Spanish Wikipedia article on es:Dumitru Găleșanu, I recommend requesting it on a Spanish Wikipedian's userpage. --Rosiestep (talk) 12:57, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
NPP Insufficiently/Un-attributed translations
Hi Rosiestep, I trust you're doing just well. I noticed today that Yerachmiel C has been creating several articles they translated from other Wikipedias, while insufficiently attributing or not attributing the source Wikipedias as required by WP:RIA, and you happen to have marked a handful of their creations as reviewed. Honestly, it is very painstaking detecting creations like this, I was also once in a situation where I didn't know this was a thing until my attention was drawn to it. This made me create a userscript to detect possibly unattributed translations from other Wikipedias (script is here), and with this script I have been able to detect several hundreds of unattributed translations created as far back as 2022 by several users, thanks to CFA's attributer script which easily helps to do the attributions with me just providing the language code of the Wikipedia and the page name at the Wikipedia (script is here). The checker script is accurate most of the times, while sometimes it requires you to confirm by yourself it is actually English Wikipedia that is copying from the other Wikipedia or the other Wikipedia copying from English Wikipedia. I have started fixing the various unattributed translations created by Yerachmiel C and will continue to monitor other NPPers who are not aware of this. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I hope this helps/will help. Happy editing. --Vanderwaalforces (talk) 10:39, 29 April 2025 (UTC)
- Wow, Vanderwaalforces! Very glad you tracked this down and so grateful to learn about the scripts. I've watchlisted the editor's talkpage. I hope it's just been a matter of new editor zeal, and that they'll understand that their translations are welcome BUT they must include the extra step of translation attribution at the time of the edit. --Rosiestep (talk) 13:43, 29 April 2025 (UTC)
- Sadly, as noted by asilvering on their talk page, the editor has never responded to any notification on their talk page, although they actively edit and have been doing so since 2020 (I don't think that would be considered a "new editor", really). Thank you for your work so far :) Vanderwaalforces (talk) 13:57, 29 April 2025 (UTC)
Question from Babarindeisraelv (17:19, 29 April 2025)
I want to create an article as a bio for a public figure, how to i go about it without violation --Babarindeisraelv (talk) 17:19, 29 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Babarindeisraelv. Here is a tutorial for what to know if you want to create an article. You'll want to be aware of Wikipedia's guideline on what is notable for inclusion and the general guide to citing sources. What you're looking for is at least three reliable sources that discuss a subject in detail (not passing mentions). If the public figure is a living person, you'll also want to be familiar with this guide. --Rosiestep (talk) 09:08, 30 April 2025 (UTC)

YOOO! its ya boy, kritzerdagoat, anyways, enough with the jokes, i cant really talk now because i have state testing (which i hate with a passion even though i pass every time) next week tuesday-thursday, also, ive been trying to edit some youth futball/soccer articles, such as the Mali U-17, but i cant figure out how to do they thing where they can make the column gold, sliver, or bronze. if you can, by friday, can you please send me a tutorial (or just tell me) how to do something like that. Thank you, from ya boy-Kritzerdagoat --Kritzerdagoat (talk) 17:13, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Kritzerdagoat. I believe you're referring to this article as I saw that you edited its talkpage: 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations. You wrote
... column gold, sliver, or bronze ...
, but did you mean the gold, silver, and bronze rows like in this section: 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations#Tournament rankings? If yes, this is a complicated edit and I wouldn't recommend attempting it to someone who, so far, has only made 1 other edit to a Wikipedia article. That said, for reference, the gold/silver/bronze coding is here and the tables tutorial is here. Good luck with your state testing; I hope you do great! --Rosiestep (talk) 13:43, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
Question from Buxtobe (15:00, 3 May 2025)
Hi Rosie, please excuse me, but I have a question. I have been submitting the article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Bernhard_Wessling for some time now. It was rejected by a reviewer because the source citation was missing. I submitted all this later, but haven't heard anything since. Is there perhaps a way to move the process forward? Many thanks for your information and best regards Dirk --Buxtobe (talk) 15:00, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Buxtobe. I made some edits (headers, subheader, re-arranging, External links, categories) to the draft; take a look. Other things that I think need doing before submitting for another review:
- Add at least one reliable source as an inline citation to each paragraph (except for the lead paragraph) to address the comment made by HickoryOughtShirt?4 in their review.
- In the lead section/paragraph, add sentences that address Johannes Maximilian's comment:
"I don't see why the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article. What do you reckon, why is the subject notable?"
. - In the "Career and research" section (this is a common header title for scientist biographies):
- Arrange information in chron order.
- Add additional subheaders (e.g., like the one I did) if applicable.
- Add your comment (disclosure about paid editing) to the talkpage.
- Please note that my edits or suggested edits are meant only to address your request to
... move the process forward
. It shouldn't be construed that my edits or suggested edits guarantee that the draft will eventually be accepted and moved into mainspace. --Rosiestep (talk) 15:45, 3 May 2025 (UTC)- Hi Rosie,
- thank you very much for your tips, which I will take a closer look at again.
- Let's hope that the review for the submission will go faster once the very last errors have been corrected.
- Best regards

Bach's cantata was performed 300 years ago, by occasion. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:48, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- Quite the anniversary. --Rosiestep (talk) 11:48, 5 May 2025 (UTC)
- I wanted that for Easter ... - Today's main page has again memories of three people who died, for two just the name and for the third an image (great!) coupled with a little bit from her life which seems too little for my taste. What do you think? - A friend of mine sang in Verdi's Requiem at Trinity Church, - you can watch the lifestream (Verdi about 30 minutes into it). --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:58, 5 May 2025 (UTC)

Question from Goldto (20:18, 4 May 2025)
Added some text, facts. How do I cite? --Goldto (talk) 20:18, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Hi @Goldto. You can take a look at Help:Referencing for beginners for some basic tips on how to cite sources. You may want to use the "Ref Toolbar" built into the edit window to help arrange and insert your citation into the article, while adding certain information such as the author's name. Be sure that the material you are adding is cited to a reliable source such as a reputable newspaper, book, or research journal. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask here on Rosie's talk page, or over at my own (linked next to my signature) with the red "talk" button. Question from Elytimandbarrywiki (11:30, 6 May 2025)
hey, Ely here, I've not actually previously edited any pages or created new ones, but within my organisation ive been tasked with setting up a few relevant wiki accounts as part of our 25th anniversary, outlining some of the prominent historical happenings and cultural moments of interest that have got us where we are today, this isn't promotional but more just a chance to outline and solidify some of these key events in uk music culture in the past 25 years. I have a draft of the first main wiki page if you'd b willing to help out with some details etc... --Elytimandbarrywiki (talk) 11:30, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Elytimandbarrywiki. Lots to unpack in your comment. First, no worries about being a new editor; we're all new at some point. I'm glad you're willing to learn the ropes. Regarding
"... within my organisation ive been tasked with setting up a few relevant wiki accounts ..."
: please do not do that. One account (username) per person. The account needs to be a personal one not related to a company/organization. In so far as your current username incorporates your company name, it probably needs to change. This gives more detail. Regarding"... I have a draft of the first main wiki page ..."
: it is considered a conflict of interest to write about your employer. But there is a process you can follow if you have put together some initial information; this provides details. Hope this info is helpful regarding a proposed Tim & Barry page. Also, I hope you start editing other, unrelated articles; we're glad to have you here. --Rosiestep (talk) 18:36, 6 May 2025 (UTC)- Morning, thanks for the reply, regarding the multiple accounts. that was my bad as that was a typo, I meant more a few relevant pages perhaps on the sub series and wider projects of Tim and Barry (or perhaps the commercial work with Adidas or nike or Jameson for example)? However, learning about the rules and regulations on conflicts of interest maybe ill stick to trying to get the one page approved first before I get stuck into more, furthermore, regarding the username, how would I change It? And is it necessary, I don't specifically wish to keep my ties to the organisation hidden or secret as that doesn't feel genuine of me, and id be more than happy to do anything and everything to get these pages to be fully impartial and unbiased to a point that even though I do work within that organisation, the pages can be approved on the basis that they are filled with valid, reliable information about an organisation that in my opinion, deserves the airtime as a largely influential factor in the documentation and development of the uk underground music scene in the last 25 years. Finally, I also have a question about the impartiality of my proposed page, how do you stay impartial about claims of being some of the first to do something, if it can be verified and proven that the organisation was some of the first to be doing something (multi camera live streams in the early 2000s around the time of YouTubes creation for example). On the topic of editing other pages, as and when I come across them I most definitely will when I have the confidence and certainty that i'm making verified reliable changes! looking forward to becoming part of the wiki family one page at a time! Elytimandbarrywiki (talk) 10:45, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry for the double message, I also just remembered that something that may help with the case of my draft being noteworthy and worth creating is Tim and Barrys mention across a few other wiki pages, including the jean Charles de Castelbajac wiki page (long time collaborator with Tim and barry) along with pages about skeptas single 'thats not me' and Tempa T's 'next hype'. sorry that all sounds a bit promotional but I just wanted to explain the pages the organisation is mentioned , in hopes maybe these pages would ultimately maybe be linked? I know wiki doesn't automatically backlink articles but maybe you could explain or direct me to where i could learn about that? Elytimandbarrywiki (talk) 10:52, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Elytimandbarrywiki. Regarding how to request a change in your username, see here. As long as you disclose on your userpage and on the article's talkpage (if its creation gets approved) that you have a conflict of interest, you have met the disclosure requirements, e.g., your username shouldn't reflect your employment. Regarding mentions of Tim and Barry in other Wikipedia articles, such as in Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, you can add a wikilink in the other article. Instructions on how to add a wikilink are here, but basically, it would look like this:
[[Tim and Barry]](or[[Tim & Barry]]) which will produce a "redlink" indicating that the article doesn't exist. Someday, if the article does exist, the redlink automatically turn blue. Wishing you well! --Rosiestep (talk) 07:27, 8 May 2025 (UTC)- morning, @Rosiestep, thanks for the tips, i've sent off to have my name changed and taken your advice to start editing smaller things on wiki pages, adding red links or citations every now and again to get more comfortable with wiki, hope this helps and I haven't made any major mistakes! as far as getting my draft approved, is there any other steps I can take to help make that possible? Elytimandbarrywiki (talk) 10:31, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- Elytimandbarrywiki, the next step (or maybe I should say, my advice) would be to follow whatever recommendations the reviewer(s) has after you submit the article at Articles For Creation. Wishing you all the best. --Rosiestep (talk) 11:40, 8 May 2025 (UTC)

Question from UKMusicArchivist (10:47, 15 May 2025)
hey rosie, ive completed some smaller edits in my free time but my draft (that was first declined within a few hours) has had no edits or changes since, is this something ive done or is the wait normal? --UKMusicArchivist (talk) 10:47, 15 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi UKMusicArchivist. Thank you for changing your username.
- Regarding Draft:Tim & Barry:
- (a) The reviewing editor stated,
"This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified."
so I would encourage you to continue adding reliable sources to every stated fact. After a quick look at the draft, I noticed that a few sentences/paragraphs have no references. - (b) As for wait time, there's a note at the top of the draft page which states:
"Review waiting, please be patient. This may take 3 months or more, since drafts are reviewed in no specific order. There are 3,221 pending submissions waiting for review."
. The draft was created May 6 (9 days ago) so there could potentially be several weeks before a volunteer editor made a second review of the draft. - (c) I see your conflict of interest message on your userpage and on the draft's talkpage; good. If you are being paid to do this work, you are required to also disclose that; this is a redline requirement. In order to sort out if "paid editing" applies to your edits, please read this. --Rosiestep (talk) 11:40, 15 May 2025 (UTC)

Suspension of autopatrolled permission due to inactivity
Hello Rosiestep. Following a request for comment in May 2025, the community has decided to implement an activity requirement for the autopatrolled permission. Because your account has not edited in the last three years, the autopatrolled permission has been removed from your account. This action is purely procedural and does not affect your ability to create articles; if you return to actively creating articles, you may request that the permission be restored through the normal process. When returning, please consider taking some time to re-familiarize yourself with common practices and how they may have changed over the past few years if you wish to request the permission back. Thank you for all of your contributions to Wikipedia, and we hope to see you again soon. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:19, 14 May 2025 (UTC)

The places: a day full of great discoveries, culminating in Oliwa Cathedral which was called a must-see by Graham Waterhouse (subject of my first article, filling a red link) who played the organ once. Dinner right next to the Abbot's Palace, where Penderecki had also been a guest.
The story: Bazon Brock spoke at an exhibition at Kolumba to honour Anna and Bernhard Blume on her 80th birthday. Did you know "An Anna Blume"? -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:09, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for all the links. That's an impressive museum. --Rosiestep (talk) 15:24, 3 June 2025 (UTC)

Question from UKMusicArchivist (10:21, 3 June 2025)
Morning Rosie, another rejected draft of the article, this time the question was if the subject is actually notable enough for a wikipedia page, this wikipedia endeavour is proving quite confusing and long winded and i'm finding myself in a position where i'm unsure of my next move in regards to how to make this article appeal to everyones standards and wikipedia guidelines. I spent some time looking into wikipedias media outlet rankings of reliability and it was a mixed bag, so im left in a position where I want to push through and make the changes to my article to get it approved, but im just unsure of what that really means for my article, and if its even possible. --UKMusicArchivist (talk) 10:21, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi again UKMusicArchivist. I recognize that it's disappointing that a new reviewer doesn't think the draft (Draft:Tim & Barry) is ready for mainspace. That said, IMO, the reviewers appear to be giving appropriate and timely attention and feedback to this draft, so my recommendation is to continue with the requested follow-up, if it's feasible. In the case of this draft, is it possible that there aren't additional
published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject
that providesignificant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject
? Note, too, that one of the references (i-D) cannot be verified -it has been marked as apermanent dead link
- so that one needs attention. If you believe that there could be additional references but need help finding them, you might consider asking for assistance in searching for them from editors who work on similar articles, e.g., editors who have created/improved articles in the same categories as Tim&Barry, e.g., Category:British music video directors or Category:British documentary filmmakers. Asking for this sort of assistance on the talkpages of Wikipedia:WikiProject Film, Wikipedia:WikiProject Music, or Wikipedia:WikiProject United Kingdom might also be helpful. One more thing I'll mention, if you look at the bottom of the draft, it that it has beendeclined as a non-notable biography
, which rings the bell that the draft would benefit from having more well-sourced biographical information -if it exists- on Tim and on Barry; check out the articles in Category:Filmmaking duos as examples. Hope all this is helpful. --Rosiestep (talk) 15:24, 3 June 2025 (UTC)

Request for new article review: Ellie Damant (artist)
Subject: Request for new article – Ellie Damant
Dear Rosie,
I hope you don’t mind the message – I’m reaching out to request your help with creating a new Wikipedia article. The subject is Ellie Damant, a British contemporary painter and portraitist who has been publicly announced as a finalist in the 2025 Dubel Art Prize and has work in public collections including Magdalen College, Oxford. She has also been commissioned to paint senior figures in the City of London, including public figure Tim Hailes (on Wikipedia) with portraits unveiled at Mansion House and Painter-Stainers’ Hall.
The article draft (see Wikitext below) has been written to meet notability guidelines, and every link has been double-checked to ensure it points to a valid and reliable source. I’ve pasted the full draft here in Wikipedia markup format so you can view or copy it directly:
In addition, a photo of Ellie Damant standing in front of the Dubel Prize board can be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons with appropriate licensing and attribution. The photo can be used as reference to Ellie Damant in her article. This image was taken by me (Scott), and I have provided a license for usage under a Creative Commons license as the lead image on the article page.
Please let me know if any adjustments or further clarifications are needed. Thank you very much for your time and any help you’re able to give.
Warm regards, Scott Noboundary4scot (talk) 12:16, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hello, Noboundary4scot, and thanks for reaching out. As I rarely deal with biographies of living people, I'm not in a position to help with this. If you believe the subject meets Wikipedia's policy requirements for WP:N, WP:RS, and WP:BLP, why not just start it yourself in your sandbox? If you need further guidance afterwards, you could request it on the Women in Red talkpage and/or WikiProject Women Artists talkpage, and I'm sure someone will respond quickly. Also, if you took the photo, you are welcome to upload it to Wikimedia Commons, and then add it to the subject's article. Lastly, in case this applies (I don't know that it does), here's a link to Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline. Thanks for your interest in improving women's representation on Wikipedia, and happy editing! --Rosiestep (talk) 15:57, 9 June 2025 (UTC)

- Hello, Noboundary4scot - Now that you have an understanding of how to proceed, I'll want to delete (within 24 hours) the part of your message that contains the draft article. I assume you have a copy of it somewhere? Recommendation: you may want to paste it into your sandbox (User:Noboundary4scot/Ellie Damant (artist)), as that's where many editors work on articles before moving them to mainspace (Ellie Damant (artist)). Thank you again for your interest in improving Wikipedia's coverage of women's representation. Happy editing! --Rosiestep (talk) 13:34, 10 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks very much and yes indeed please feel free to delete. Many thanks for your help and advice.

Question from Edmund Richard Hunter (16:04, 9 June 2025)
Hi Rosie I am trying to find the beginners video guide to wikipedia which I started on Saturday --Edmund Richard Hunter (talk) 16:04, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Edmund Richard Hunter. At the top of this page (my talkpage), you'll see a green box ("Rosiestep's Newbie Central") with video links for newcomers. Check it out... there are more than 50 videos. Maybe it's one of those? --Rosiestep (talk) 13:57, 10 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Rosie
- Thank you and will do. Edmund Richard Hunter (talk) 18:02, 11 June 2025 (UTC)
Question from TheWarriorsfan (04:25, 10 June 2025)
What should i do if someone keeps deleting Correct information and replacing it with nonfactual information. --TheWarriorsfan (talk) 04:25, 10 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi TheWarriorsfan. All facts on Wikipedia should be verifiable via a reliable source as an inline citation. If someone isn't abiding by this: address it on the article's talkpage, assuring that you have notified the other editor. --Rosiestep (talk) 13:50, 10 June 2025 (UTC)
Question from Kritzerdagoat (03:46, 13 June 2025)
Guess whos back (i havent said stuff to you in months) anyways, i wanna edit some soccer/futball articles, but im lowkey a beginner, can you give me some recommendations? (please no stadiums they take way to long)-your boy, KDG (kritzerdagoat) --Kritzerdagoat (talk) 03:46, 13 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Kritzerdagoat. What to edit could depend on a couple of things. First, do you have access to a reference on some soccer/futball topic, person, team that isn't already included in an article? You could add that. Other things you could do: add a missing category to some soccer/futball articles; add an extra sentence in a lead paragraph if it seems reasonable to do so. --Rosiestep (talk) 11:51, 13 June 2025 (UTC)
Question about adding citations
Hi Rosiestep. A question about adding citations. I'm trying to update Cable television in the United States and there is a box of annual data for cable subscribers with a note says needs additional citations for verification. I'm not sure what it needs because each number has a citation. (One challenge, though: the citations are from several different sources because no single entity has kept that number over the years.)
What should I add?
Thanks!
BillAdairDuke (talk) 20:32, 13 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi BillAdairDuke. Thanks for the question. The template at the top of that section was placed there in August 2023. Subsequently, references were added for every item in the table. Ergo, I deleted the template at the top of that section. Of course, it's okay to add even more references, and/or to add additional (e.g. current) data, with references. Happy editing. --Rosiestep (talk) 18:35, 14 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks! Yes, I'll do that. BillAdairDuke (talk) 15:44, 16 June 2025 (UTC)

- Hi Palash bharali. You've already joined Wikipedia by creating your username, so welcome! Regarding how to join an organization that has a Wikipedia article: I don't know as I am a volunteer editor and not a member of that organization ... nor did I write the article about that organization. Review of two pages
Hi, thank for your last page review, can you please take a look also on two pages (unreviewed) Vikena Kamenica and Fatos Baxhaku. Thank you Lanceloth345 (talk) 03:58, 22 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Lanceloth345. I'm guessing that the last one of yours that I reviewed was the Minister of Justice, Spartak Ngjela? Regarding Fatos Baxhaku, would you please add an inline citation for:
"He was considered one of the pioneers of Albania's independent press in the early 1990s."
? Perhaps it's Ref #1 (at the end of the paragraph), but I don't want to make that assumption. Then I'll look at it again. Regarding Vikena Kamenica, the mid-career singer, I'll leave that one to others. --Rosiestep (talk) 15:11, 22 June 2025 (UTC)- Hi ,yes corrercly, at page Fatos Baxhaku i added inline citation at paragraph that you mention, Thank you. Lanceloth345 (talk) 16:15, 22 June 2025 (UTC)
- Lanceloth345, great; thanks. I've marked the page as reviewed. There's one more thing I'd like to share with you. When adding foreign language references, it's best practice to add
|trans-title=to the ref, such as I just did to Ref #1 on the Baxhatu page. I'll leave the other refs to you. See Wikipedia:Press coverage#Adding entries to a page in the subsectionForeign-language coverage
for more info in this regard. Note, it works with "cite news", "cite book", "cite journal", etc. Happy editing! --Rosiestep (talk) 16:33, 22 June 2025 (UTC)- Ah thamk you , i know as parametter, but i thought it was not as an "criteria" based on pages i created before, but i appreciate your obseervation and advicr on this, i asked you to review two pages, due to high-volume new pages as i see, thank you. Question from SLCRB (09:45, 24 June 2025)
Hi there, now in the long term i would love to cite our own business as a source for 'stronger-than-your-average beds'. What do I need to do in the meantime before my profile is 'trusted' enough to cite our own intelligence led blogs etc --SLCRB (talk) 09:45, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, SLCRB, and welcome to Wikipedia. I'm afraid most blogs are not considered to be reliable as they can be edited by users, just like Wikipedia; more info about blogs here. I suggest that you reflect on the information that Count Count left on your talkpage in this regard. Also, I recommend that you follow the links in the welcome message I left on your talkpage to learn more about editing. Please let me know if I can help you further. Question from Jusi Ishaya (17:34, 24 June 2025)
Hi, so I wrote a page for Liquid Canvas our art company and I would like to move my page to the web from my sand box, please help. --Jusi Ishaya (talk) 17:34, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Jusi Ishaya, and welcome to Wikipedia. Creating or editing a Wikipedia article about your company (Liquid Canvas) is considered to be a conflict of interest so you should not work directly on that article, but you can make suggested edits on the article's talkpage. I recognize this can be disappointing as you've already done some work on it. Learn more about conflict of interest here and please follow the instructions regarding disclosing yours. Further information regarding how to handle the draft you started can be found here. Also, I recommend that you follow the links in the welcome message I left on your talkpage to learn more about editing. Please let me know if I can help you further. Question from Evilrh104 (07:14, 25 June 2025)
Hello! Would you consider journals like these: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/books/NBK557526/ to be good secondary sources? I apologize if this is a stupid question because I am new and I just want to make sure. --Evilrh104 (talk) 07:14, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Evilrh104, and welcome to Wikipedia. Definitely not a stupid question. Yes,
nih.govis a good secondary source. This page, regarding how to identify reliable sources for medicine topics, may also interest you. Hi Rosie!
I've been a long time fan and donator of wikipedia! Just graduated college and am excited to start editing / publishing in my free time.
I would like to know about the approval process for edits? How long does it take for an edit that I push out to be represented on my account? --Annoyingparanoia (talk) 14:42, 27 June 2025 (UTC)

--Shah amanat anik (talk) 09:50, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Shah amanat anik, and welcome to Wikipedia. I removed what you wrote here as (a) it was in Bengali language, and (b) it was a biography about a Youtuber/student. If you write on my talkpage, please do so in English. If you state you have a question, please add a question; do not write a biography. Thank you and happy editing. --Rosiestep (talk) 13:22, 28 June 2025 (UTC)
