Great work on this article. I have a suggestion that you create new headings instead of "Points of interest". There could be separate top-level headings for: Buildings, Bridges, Statues, Installations, etc.
The content in the existing "Points of interest" section includes history, and buildings that are no longer in existence. Perhaps this is out of scope, but one building that I remember from my childhood is the Hay's department store (subsequently Farmers), that had a frontage on Armagh Street, facing the square. The building was notable for many reasons, including the roof top playground for kids, and the (rather dodgy) Father Christmas with the beckoning finger that was mounted on the front of the building, directly facing Victoria Square. See: Haywrights, and and , and , and , and in particular: , and Marshelec (talk) 07:08, 28 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Great work on preparing the new article split out from the Christchurch article. This had led to a major improvement. It has resolved the overly-large amount of content about history in the main article, reduced the difficulties of enhancing coverage of history within that article, and created an interesting new article that can now be further expanded.
One of the points of the history of Christchurch that is worth expanding is the work associated with land drainage - since this was so fundamental to settlement on the flat land. I have a useful source, and plan to add some content from this source over the next week or two. I will also aim to include a small amount of the most pertinent information about land drainage in the main Christchurch article._Marshelec (talk) 07:58, 4 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

I am willing to undertake a GA review of Victoria Square, Christchurch. However, before I begin (or someone else gets started first), it is best that we find a time when both of us can be available. The guidelines suggest that GA reviews should be completed ideally within 7 days, but this is only possible if the nominator and reviewer are both available and can commit the time required. Please let me know a period over the next two months that would be best for you, I will see if we can agree a period for the review._Marshelec (talk) 01:49, 17 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

See Wikipedia:Bot policy. I'm not sure if your macron removal-detection bot falls within this, as it seems to be mostly about bots which edit in article space. If you haven't already, I suggest you read the policy and if there's any likelihood that your bot needs approval, better to ask about it (perhaps at Wikipedia:Bots/Noticeboard) than ignore the potential issue. It is also possible that the functionality could be incorporated more efficiently in an WP:Edit filter, which allows for edits meeting a given criteria to be logged.-Gadfium (talk) 22:56, 27 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! As per the policy In addition, any bot or automated editing process that affects only the operator's or their own userspace (user pages, user talk pages, user's module sandbox pages and subpages thereof), and which are not otherwise disruptive, may be run without prior approval. so I think its ok.
Hi Cloverntt, thank you for your recent support! I am still learning and just want to focus on continuing to make positive contributions on this platform. I really appreciate your kindness!

Sometimes there are links like [[2016 Kaikōura earthquake|a magnitude 7.8 earthquake]] where although it is true that a macron has been removed, there are no words that should have a macron. If you are still interested in working on your monitor, then maybe it should check if the pipe creates a macronless word or not. ―Panamitsu(talk)05:25, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
I've just made some improvements to make it less noisy. I also have made it print the full linkpipe into the alert so you don't need to open the diff to check it. David Palmer//cloventt(talk)03:59, 28 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

On 26 February 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Kaiapoi Pā, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Kaiapoi Pā has been incorrectly called Kaiapohia, a pun that can be translated as 'piling up of bodies for eating'? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Kaiapoi Pā. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Kaiapoi Pā), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hello Cloventt,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Mike Casey (entrepreneur) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Hello. You're invited to participate in The World Destubathon. We're aiming to destub a lot of articles and also improve longer stale articles. It started today on Monday June 16 and will run until Sunday July 13. There is over $3300 going into it, with $500 the top prize. If you are interested in winning something to save you money in buying books for future content, or just see it as a good editathon opportunity to see a lot of articles improved for subjects which interest you, sign up on the page in the participants section if interested. Even if you can only manage a few articles they would be very much appreciated and help make the content produced as diverse and broad as possible! ♦ Dr. Blofeld09:59, 16 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi Cloventt, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.
Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.
Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing!

I'm not 100% sure whether me creating a DYK nomination created a ping. In theory, it should (as it included your linked username and my signature), but I'm unsure whether that is also true for templates (which a DYK nomination is). Anyway, in case you didn't get pinged, here's a heads-up. Feel free to add other or a tweaked blurb.
Thanks! Yes the ping worked. I’ve decided not to bother with DYK for articles I create so thanks for leading that!
I’m actually unsure if the helicopter service was a real thing. He was famous for claiming things that he didn’t actually follow through on. David Palmer//cloventt(talk)09:21, 8 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
The administrator elections process has officially started! Interested editors are encouraged to self-nominate or arrange to be nominated by reviewing the instructions at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/July 2025/Candidates.
Here is the schedule:
July 9–15 - Call for candidates
July 18–22 - Discussion phase
July 23–29 - SecurePoll voting phase
Please note the following:
The requirements to run are identical to RFA—a prospective candidate must be extended confirmed.
The process will have a seven day call for candidates phase, a two day pause, a five day discussion phase, and a seven day private vote using SecurePoll. Discussion and questions are only allowed on the candidate pages during the discussion phase.
The outcome of this process is identical to making a request for adminship. There is no official difference between an administrator appointed through RFA versus administrator elections.
Ask any questions about the process at the talk page. A separate user talk message will be sent to official candidates with additional information about the process.
If you are interested in the process, please make sure to watchlist the appropriate pages. A watchlist notice will be added when the discussion phase opens, and again when the voting phase opens.
You're receiving this message because you signed up for the mailing list. To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself from the list.
I just wanted to make you aware of some of the unspoken or semi-spoken expectations for candidates. You can find some good advice at WP:Advice for RfA candidates, which states that few people succeed with less than 10,000 edits of experience. You've achieved quite a lot in your 3,000 edits, including 2 GAs, so I imagine that you can pass with a lower number, but still, I don't think we've had somebody pass under 7,000 edits in recent years. Perhaps the next election is a better option. Up to you of course!
If you want to start helping more around deletion, you can ask for the NPP user right at WP:PERM/NPP. That way, you can get more experience with other elements of deletion such as WP:CSD tagging. If you go for that, feel free to ping me, as I've already had a look at your AfD record, and liked what I saw. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 19:35, 10 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the great advice! I had similar advice regarding low edit count from other trusted editors, but I thought I’d try the new election process anyway.
That said, NPP looks like a really excellent option for me, so thank you for the suggestion. I’ll look into applying there. David Palmer//cloventt(talk)20:27, 10 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, I am aware of that, I'm still considering whether to complete the nomination. Currently, it can be considered in a draft state. I'm frankly impressed at the diligence of people checking the nominations category already! David Palmer//cloventt(talk)02:49, 11 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Hello Femke, I just wanted to back up your impression. We are looking at a rather strong candidate here who will face some stiff views over low edit count, even if everything else stacks up. I know David personally and hold him in high regard. He's got lots to offer.
Certainly, if you or anyone would like to lend their support to the nom that would be very welcome. But I am also happy to go it alone on my own merit.
I'm not too bothered about people having stiff views on my low edit count; they'd be right, it's low! Honest criticism, feedback and advice is something I'm hoping to get out of this, even if I'm not successful. David Palmer//cloventt(talk)02:54, 11 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Cloventt, some advice: every candidate last time around who had a nominator was elected. Some with no nominators still succeeded, but I'm pretty confident you would not be one of them - I don't think a person can pull off both a lack of noms and a record-low edit count. But I'll also add that the one candidate who surprised me last time was one who evidently was known to a lot of longtimers from in-person events. So if you have a lot of people who know you personally, and you can get two of them to nominate you and tell us all how great you are (and I see you only need one more at this point), I think you may have a shot here. -- asilvering (talk) 03:12, 11 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
I should add that I think it's a long shot, and my earnest advice would be to wait for a later election. But given @Schwede66's response above, I wouldn't count you out entirely. -- asilvering (talk) 03:16, 11 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi Cloventt, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the new page reviewer user right to your account. This means you now have access to the page curation tools and can start patrolling pages from the new pages feed. If you asked for this at requests for permissions, please check back there to see if your access is time-limited or if there are other comments.
This is a good time to re-acquaint yourself with the guidance at Wikipedia:New pages patrol. Before you get started, please take the time to:
Also, if you use Discord, there's a NPP server at . A bit less intimidating to ask quick questions there than on the main NPP talk page. By the way, I saw your comments about AfC at PERM and... yeah, I hear you. There's a lot of good to be done there, fixing up some nearly-there drafts and leaving helpful comments. But these days there's also a lot of AI junk, so it's a real slog. -- asilvering (talk) 05:10, 15 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
On July 23, we will start the voting phase. The candidate subpages will close again to public questions and discussion, and everyone will have a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote totals cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's totals during the election. You must be extended confirmed to vote.
Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last approximately four days, or perhaps a little longer. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page (you may want to watchlist this page) and transcluded to the main election page. In order to be granted adminship, a candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose), and must also have received a minimum of 20 support votes. Because this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ("crat chats").
Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

Hi David,
Wanted to further get your thoughts on how to proceed with this. I have tried hard to avoid writing in a promotional style. There have been re-edits from the first push back and AI had not been used beyond helping me figure out formatting and inline citations. I've seen your QWikicite links and can use that going ahead looks like a cool project.
Back to the article... I have fully disclosed my conflict of interest. The work is not written by AI. Please help convey what I can do better. I had asked on the help desk.
My interest in this area goes beyond the company. This AI tech space and the overlap in health seems to be basically a deadzone on Wikipedia. The biggest AI communities in both New Zealand and Australia don't have a mention. The developments of AI in Oceania I think will have cultural and historical significance in the next 50 years and early articles in this area would help capture and accurately record history as it happens. Sahha is unique as it is one of the frighteningly few companies in the ecosystem which actually has science based insights out of health data with wearables. This is relevant to health academia and increasing integration of bioinformatics into every day life. Sahha underpins many other app systems which offer scales of wellness and such. If you can find another Company that exists that currently does this I will definitely include it in the article for objectivity. I cannot find one.
I'd like to springboard from here into being able to write further in areas of government health monitoring systems, insurance health surveillance and the AI community which is rising in New Zealand and Australia. I think these are societally relevant areas.
For Sahha, for notability I had ODT, News Japan, NBR, Athletech as references.
If the writing in regards to novel developments and partnerships was too promotional I will gut that, I included it to try ensure it clearly passed the test of notability but it seems that is irrelevant?
The best way to get into Wikipedia is finding a subject you care about that has an existing article, and trying to improve that. This is the best way to learn about our culture and the ins-and-outs of editing. Hunting down new sources and expanding a topic. Starting off by writing a whole new article is really jumping in the deep end. David Palmer//cloventt(talk)03:48, 2 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

I've noticed you've merged Lincoln City Libraries branches into the parent article without contacting me about this first, or starting a discussion. I am entirely fine with you doing this as long as this is what everyone agrees with. However, I wish that you either contacted me and started a merge discussion first. WiinterU01:15, 5 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
If you'd rather have them separate, feel free to revert and we can find consensus on the talk page. That is the nature of the WP:BRD process we use here.
That said, I came across the article in New Page Patrol. Your list of branches seems very well researched and a great contribution to the wiki, but the parent article for the library system as a whole seemed pretty short. In such cases, it's usually better to include the information in the parent article. I don't really see a reason to keep them separate. David Palmer//cloventt(talk)01:20, 5 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm leaning for keeping them together for now. Once the branches article get too big, they can be separate again. Just please notify someone or start a discussion next time unless it's extremely obvious. WiinterU01:26, 5 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thanks yeah I have seen that, I’ll leave it with others to figure out where to go with them! If the other gets published I’ll delete the draft, or the draft can be overwritten. David Palmer//cloventt(talk)05:41, 7 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
I've published the older draft and tagged the articles for merging. Can you please remove the unreferenced date of birth from your draft, or add a reference? I don't want to do it myself, given that I haven't yet edited any of the draft articles (other than moving one to main space). Schwede6622:45, 7 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
I've nuked it from Wikidata. It seems the merge has been done. If you are satisfied that everything of relevance has been transferred, let me know and I can delete the draft. Schwede6600:20, 8 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last for a few days, perhaps longer. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page (this is a good page to watchlist), and transcluded to the main election page. In order to be granted adminship, a non-recall candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose), and a minimum of 20 support votes. Recall candidates must achieve 55.0% support. Because this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ("crat chats").
Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

New Pages Patrol is hosting a one-time, two-month experimental backlog drive aimed at reducing the backlog. This will be a combo drive: both articles and redirects will earn points.
The drive will run from 1 January to 28 February 2026.
The drive is divided into two phases. Participants may take part in either phase or across both phases, depending on availability.
Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled during the drive.
Two-month drive-exclusive barnstars will be awarded to eligible participants.
Each article review earns 1 point, while each redirect review earns 0.2 points.
Streak awards will be granted based on consistently meeting weekly point thresholds.
Barnstars will also be awarded for re-reviewing articles previously reviewed by other patrollers during the drive.

Happy New Year:) I would like to ask if you would be interested in joining up to the Kaikōura project and perhaps taking on the job of creating an article for Takahanga Marae? Here is the article list on the project page: Wikipedia:GLAM/Kaikōura/Articles#Articles to create I have created a Wikidata item for Takahanga Marae but wondered if you would be interested in the Wikipedia article ?_Marshelec (talk) 22:54, 2 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Cool. I added several useful sources for Takahanga Marae in the comments on the project articles page. I am planning on going down to Kaikōura for the Wiki Weekend event on 7-8 March. Hope you will consider joining:)._Marshelec (talk) 19:39, 4 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

On 27 January 2026, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Takahanga Marae, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that volunteers at Takahanga Marae served more than 10,000 meals in the week following the 2016 Kaikōura earthquake? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Takahanga Marae. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Takahanga Marae), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to nominate it.

Hello, Cloventt.
I've edited this page; I've removed the failed verification, and I've added a link announcing his charitable activities. I now propose removing the proposed deletion tag, as the charitable work establishes that he is independently notable in a way that his cousin Ndaba Mandela and his half-brother Prince Cedza Dlamini are.

NPP unreviewed article statistics as of February 02, 2026
Welcome to Phase 2 of the January–February 2026 NPP drive. During Phase 1, we reviewed 16,658 articles and 4,416 redirects, and there is currently a backlog of 16,475 articles and 23,782 redirects in the queue. Fantastic job! Completing 22,502 patrols in the first phase made a significant dent in the backlog. Let's keep our foot on the gas for Phase 2, and I hope we can achieve even more reviews than Phase 1. Best of luck!

After reviewing your request for the "eventcoordinator" permission, I have enabled the flag on your account. Keep in mind these things:
The event coordinator right removes the limit on the maximum number of new accounts that can be created in a 24-hour period.
The event coordinator right allows you to temporarily add the "confirmed" permission to newly created accounts. You should not grant this for more than 10 days.
The right allows you to be a coordinator for events created in the Event namespace (Instructions), which adds your event to Special:AllEvents
If you no longer require the right, let me know, or ask any other administrator. Drop a note on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of the event coordinator right. Happy editing! Schwede6604:25, 9 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

The administrator elections process has officially started! Interested editors are encouraged to self-nominate or arrange to be nominated by reviewing the instructions at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/May 2026/Candidates.
Here is the schedule:
April 29 – May 5: Call for candidates
May 8–12: Discussion phase
May 13–19: SecurePoll voting phase
Please note the following:
The requirements to run are identical to RFA—a prospective candidate must be extended confirmed.
The process will have a seven day call for candidates phase, a two day pause, a five day discussion phase, and a seven day private vote using SecurePoll. Discussion and questions are only allowed on the candidate pages during the discussion phase.
The outcome of this process is identical to making a request for adminship. There is no official difference between an administrator appointed through RFA versus administrator elections.
Ask any questions about the process at the talk page. Later, a user talk message will be sent to official candidates with additional information about the process.
If you are interested in the process, please make sure to watchlist the appropriate pages. A watchlist notice will be added when the discussion phase opens, and again when the voting phase opens.

Wikidata is certainly a better place for this data if you wish to make it easier for it to be vandalised, but I fail to see any reason how this change benefits the English Wikipedia. Do you enjoy making the jobs of vandals easier? Traumnovelle (talk) 10:22, 4 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
We’re not talking about a BLP issue—if we were, I’d agree with you. This is the approximate physical location of a building we’re talking about. Is vandalism of coordinate locations a major issue on Wikidata? I haven’t seen it anywhere. David Palmer//cloventt(talk)10:29, 4 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Its just an example of how there is no functional oversight and even blatant vandalism runs rampant. Changing numerical values is a common form of vandalism, in fact there are 3 LTAs named 'Date-changing vandal' for example. If someone changed the coordinates to be off by a few numbers there'd be no way of knowing this has been changed from English Wikipedia. Traumnovelle (talk) 20:00, 4 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
May 2026 Administrator Elections – Discussion Phase
On 13 May, we will start the voting phase. The candidate subpages will close to public questions and discussion, and everyone will have a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for.
Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

After the January–February drive the article backlog was reduced to 15,179 articles and the redirect backlog to 19,053 respectively. Great job! However, both queues are growing rapidly and any additional reviews are highly appreciated.
2024 and 2025 NPP Awards
JTtheOG was selected as the NPP reviewer of the year for both 2024 and 2025, for reviewing the most articles amongst all reviewers.
Hey man im josh and MPGuy2824 won the Redirect Ninja Master Award for 2024 and 2025 respectively, for reviewing the most redirects.
Overall in 2024, one Platinum, two Gold, eight Silver, 12 Bronze and 45 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 66 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year. In 2025, one Platinum, ten Silver, 13 Bronze and 38 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 38 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year.
The experimental two-month long backlog drive concluded with 183 reviewers patrolling over 27,761 articles and 35,309 redirects, earning over 36,836 points. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 6,484.6 points in this drive.
An attempt was made to get the New Pages Feed to sort by date marked as reviewed instead of date created. However we had to revert it due to bugs. We may try again in the future. You can subscribe to the Phabricator ticket if you're interested in following along.
