Add a new section called "Controversies", dealing with the involvement of GuitarHeroStyles (AdvyStyles, Luis Miguel Gil; Cádiz, Spain) in a grooming and rape scandal of October to November 2021. He was accused of the crimes by another player named "zPfanne", and many of his victims came forth with further testimonies. At first, Advy acknowledged the accusations, but later he denied them, stating he had proof that they were false (even though tons of evidence proving the allegations true have been released), and went back to uploading videos on YouTube like nothing happened. As a result, many other notable players in the Geometry Dash community have "cancelled" him, and the official Geometry Dash Demon List has banned him from participation, stripping him of all his records. Later, his Discord account got suspended. On 5 November 2021, a Twitter campaign called "AdvyOut" called for his termination on YouTube, and this hashtag got up to #6 on Twitter Trending. The termination of his channel is likely to follow shortly.
Guitar's channel: . Notice how he has over 2 million subscribers, the most of any YouTube channel specializing in Geometry Dash. Mesijanski Judje (talk) 19:52, 5 November 2021 (UTC)
Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 19:56, 5 November 2021 (UTC)- This is generally unrelated to the game, this wouldn't be in the article.

After thorough study of this article, I have come to notice that its main subject seems more like the 2013 video game, rather than an entire series, as most sections mainly apply to the video game titled Geometry Dash. What is more, I think the video game holds more importance than the series, as Meltdown, World and Subzero only exist as extra content to fulfill the player's wish for more, while the video game titled Geometry Dash represents a good 70 to 80% of the whole series. As opposed to something like the Zelda series which as a whole has a huge influence on the industry, the Geometry Dash series holds little importance in its entirety as three of the four games are filler for the last one, while the Geometry Dash video game has helped the rise of indie games and, as such, has had an influence big enough to grant it (in my opinion) the right to have its own Wikipedia page. Therefore, I believe the page would be more relevant if it shifted focus from Geometry Dash (series) to Geometry Dash (video game), the page could probably feature a "Sequels" paragraph in which are mentioned the three side games. If the decision to make the shift was to be made, not a lot of work would have to be done anyway, as most of the article mainly refers to the game. May someone hear my demand and answer it. Thank you.
Edit to clarify the changes I would like to see:
- change "Geometry Dash is a series of music platforming video games developed by Swedish developer Robert Topala, also known as RobTop. The first game, known simply as Geometry Dash, was released on August 13, 2013 on iOS and Android." to "Geometry Dash is a music platforming video game developed by Swedish developer Robert Topala, also known as RobTop, that was released on August 13, 2013 on iOS and Android."
- change "In addition to the original game, 3 other spin-off games in the series have been made: Geometry Dash Meltdown, Geometry Dash World, and Geometry Dash SubZero." to "Since its original release, the game has spanned 3 other spin-off games: Geometry Dash Meltdown, Geometry Dash World, and Geometry Dash SubZero."
- remove the "First release: Geometry Dash" and the "Latest release: Geometry Dash SubZero" sections in the characteristics below the icon
- add a "Series: Geometry Dash" section in the characteristics below the icon
That's all. I hope someone understands my point of view. Thank you. Superaspicot013 (talk) 10:22, 7 November 2021 (UTC)

The first part of the article talks about the game's merchandise: "The game also has online merchandise" It's not official merchandise though, and I think that sentence should be removed (including the reference number 5), or at least change it to "Unofficial merchandise can be found online"

Recent addition of content
@HurricaneDeci I recently reverted a sequence of edits that added content including a list of all the levels across all the Geometry Dash games. The basis for this decision comes from these edits, similar reversions that were seemingly accepted over a year ago (similar content had not been added again until just recently). If you have a reason for including this information in an encyclopedia, it would be beneficial to explain it. Twotwicetalk 19:22, 14 November 2022 (UTC)
@Twotwice I added many details about the game as well as the table, and I figured the table would be a good idea because it lists the levels of the game. If you want me to, I can remove it. HurricaneDecitalk19:47, 14 November 2022 (UTC)

The following sentence is convoluted and needs better structuring:
“Notably, if the player crashes into an obstacle, the level restarts from the beginning, an exception being in practice mode, where the user may place checkpoints to survey or practice a level without officially completing it.”
I suggest: “If the player crashes into an obstacle, the level restarts from the beginning. However, in practice mode, the player may place checkpoints to survey or practice a level without officially completing it.” Spinespine (talk) 17:40, 8 October 2022 (UTC)

2nd Paragraph, Last sentence. Needs reworked into 2 separate sentences. Current wording makes it sound like you can obtain secret coins and user coins through chests, although you cannot. Mana orbs are also the only (currently) in-game currency. You can also obtain secret coins through completing a map pack.
My reworking: You can obtain the game's in-game currency, mana orbs, through chests, as well as diamonds and Shards of Power. In official levels, you can obtain secret coins, another method of collecting these being map packs, which reward the player with some with every pack completed. User coins are the user level versions of secret coins. They can either be bronze (these ones don't count towards player total [also known as "Unverified"] ) or silver (counts towards your player total [also known as "Verified"] )

Ambiguity
On the first sentence of paragraph 3, "Topala released a sneak peek video of 2.2, the first major update since 2017," could be misinterpreted as 2.2 being the first major update released since 2017. 74.139.252.103 (talk) 04:15, 2 January 2023 (UTC)

- @Xan747 Would citing the game itself be a possiblity? Primary sources are excellent for this kind of coverage gap. In this case, simply stating a level's existence does not require original research. Ca talk to me! 16:27, 26 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Ca, @MinecraftNerd12341234; the Video games section of WikiProject Video games/Sources says,
In articles about video games, citing the game itself is often attractive. Wikipedia favours secondary sources, and the use of primary sources should be minimised. Games are primary sources in articles about themselves. Whether it is good to use them as a source varies by perspective, subject and game. For a reader, it is usually very hard to use a video game to check facts. Provide transcripts wherever possible, and enable readers to check the facts themselves by noting which area, level or episode is cited. Using the later levels of games with a linear level progression as sources (without transcripts) should be avoided. The same applies to bonus levels or easter eggs.
- But what is a transcript? How do you get one and cite it? I suggest you guys check with the editors over at WikiProject Video games and find out how to properly use the game itself as a primary source. Feel free to ping me back once they've given you some guidance. Thanks, Xan747 (talk) 19:20, 26 July 2023 (UTC)
- Wow, this has gotten very complicated for something really insignificant. It's still well known within the Geometry Dash community, but I'll see if there's any way to get "transcripts". Signed, MinecraftNerd12341234 23:20, 26 July 2023 (UTC)
- It does seem a small thing but I'm a stickler for rules. Do let me know what you find out.
- NOTE: I would never suggest that as you are an autoconfirmed user that you could simply edit the article yourself. Xan747 (talk) 23:46, 26 July 2023 (UTC)
- Can I just upload a video where I show the level and how to access it? It is the simplest way, and to be honest, I am not that good at finding citations. I mostly read, and I thought I'd add some information to one of the games I'm intrested in. But I do understand there are rules to follow, and that is pretty respectable. The problem is, when you try to add something obscure, you have to make your own source. Signed, MinecraftNerd12341234 00:16, 27 July 2023 (UTC)

- Your best option is to check with the video game project folks and learn how to do it right. Then you'll know for other articles you might want to edit. Xan747 (talk) 00:38, 27 July 2023 (UTC)

Could we add a controversy section?
Hey guys, Bardcodc here.
I was wondering if we should add a controversy segment, due to how many types of controversy have occured. First there was a fan-made level to the role-playing game "God Eater" by a player named "knobbelboy", who then stole some art from the actual game. The creators of "God Eater" contacted him saying "Oh nO, yOu DiDn'T aSk FoR oUr OpInIoN, nOw Ya CaN't HaVe It". Geometry Dash almost got sued. Then there was the level "Woodkid" by a guy named "Jakers", who stole from the band with the song "Run, Boy, Run". There were the days of 1.9 in 2015, when people uploaded songs onto Newgrounds for it to be on Geometry Dash. There's 2.2, where people keep on making game recreations. Just wondering. - Barcodc (talk) 17:16, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
- If you can find reliable sources that are relevant for a section on copyright-related controversies, then it could be included. However, I do not see any such sources, so it might not be significant enough to include. Twotwicetalk 17:26, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
Release Date of Geometry Dash 2.2
This article claims that Geometry Dash 2.2 was released on December 20th of 2023, but it was actually released on December 19th of 2023. This YouTube video is a video uploaded by the developer of the game, announcing that Geometry Dash 2.2 is now available. The upload date of the video is December 19th of 2023. This article should be updated to contain the proper release date, which is December 19th of 2023. Change name of levels rated by RobTop
This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
In the section describing levels verified, the article uses the same term (verification) to describe beating a level to prove it is possible and denote a level chosen by RobTop to give rewards when beaten. The latter should be changed to a level being considered "rated" rather than "verified."
This is the common language used in the community and the official Geometry Dash editor guide released in 2.2 (Page 199). The guide can be found here: https://www.robtopgames.com/files/GDEditor.pdf. Typicalsamprice (talk) 18:57, 17 February 2024 (UTC)

You should describe how each gamemode works. Cube, click the screen and it bounces up into the air for a fractoin of a second. Ship, hold the screen to go up and release to go down. Ball, click the screen to switch gravity. UFO (formerly Bird), like the Cube, but you can bounce in the air. Wave (formerly Dart), like the Ship, but you move diagonally. Robot, long hold to make a bigger jump, short tap for a smaller jump. Spider, like the Ball, but you teleport. Swingcopter (also known as Swing), like Ball, but switch gravities in the air. acronyms
Currently, the article does not mention the common abbreviations ‘GD’ or ‘GMD’ anywhere. Within the community, the game is rarely referred to by its full name; instead, the acronyms ‘GD’ or ‘GMD’ are predominantly used. I propose adjusting the opening sentence to read: ‘Geometry Dash (also known as GD or GMD) is a side-scrolling music platforming game series…’ This would better reflect common usage and improve accessibility for readers familiar with the game’s abbreviations. Gameplay demonstration on a custom level idea
So I've been thinking of making a custom level for a gameplay demonstration. To not violate any copyright, these requirements will be met:
- The level will only use assets that are simplistic enough to not pass threshold of originality (like blocks and orbs) and are therefore in public domain. Same rule applies for the player icons.
- Music is going to be from Newgrounds with either CC-BY or CC-BY-SA license.
- Level itself will be licensed under CC-BY by its creator (me).
Since gameplay mechanics can't be copyrighted, this should technically work. Did I miss something? Dabmasterars (talk) 13:17, 8 April 2025 (UTC)

In fact, the only place that used October 2013 as the update's release date is Version Museum, which probably isn't reliable given that it got all its images from the game's Fandom wiki.
- No reliable source gives 1.1's release date as October 2013, and thus the article should not use October 2013 as the release date of the update BombCraft8 (talk) (contributions) 19:17, 8 August 2025 (UTC)
- @ZKevinTheCat I also want to say that the article shouldn't say four more updates released in 2013. Searching the browser, you can see that update 1.5 released in January 2014, not in December 2013. Version Museum is the only source that provides this wrong information and is not reliable. Reichtek (talk) 10:13, 9 August 2025 (UTC)
- Oh also another thing is that the article says that the demon difficiulty was introduced in update 1.5, when it was actually released in 1.3. Reichtek (talk) 10:15, 9 August 2025 (UTC)
- I am of the opinion that we should not be including a history of versions at all; most updates noted there don't seem to be notable enough to have received reliable third-party reporting (see WP:NOTCHANGELOG). There does not seem to be a consensus that the Version Museum source used for much of this section is reliable. Twotwicetalk 16:36, 9 August 2025 (UTC)
- I think I'm forced to agree here. I was able to remove that source from a few places but was unable to find a replacement in others. These might have to be removed too. I was however also able to find a source for the "rated" stuff in the Gameplay section. ZKevinTheCat (talk) 21:10, 9 August 2025 (UTC)

I'll move to the spot check now.

and“There really was no detailed plan” for Geometry Dash, Topala says.
Very obvious pass.

Format
My formatting for the review will look like this:
I'll be abbreviating the paragraph and sentence I'm referring to in my suggestions to P and S. For example, paragraph 2, sentence 2 would be P2S2. The paragraph counter also resets with each new section.
I'll be adding more sections as I go instead of posting my entire review at once and having you wait
Please use the
Done template or strikethrough to indicate that a problem has been fixed, and add any comments/questions after the points that you have. If you don't agree with one of my suggestions, please tell me, and we can discuss it. Some comments will be marked as "suggestions"; these are recommendations, not requirements, and you don't have to take them! 🌷Reverosie🌷★talk★ 00:14, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
Infobox
- RobTop is cited as the game's only composer, though many of the game's main levels use songs written by various artists on NewGrounds. Maybe there could be a way to incorporate this?

Other than that, the infobox looks good
Lead
- Suggestion: P1S6:
Players can collect in-game currency—such as stars, moons, secret coins, user coins, mana orbs, diamonds, and shards—from official and user-generated levels or chests to unlock customization options for their icon.
This is a lot for the lead. I'd suggest saying "such as stars, moons, and mana orbs" since those are the three most important examples in my opinion, but I'll leave it up to you.
Done - P2S3:
...being inspired off of other titles such as The Impossible Game and Super Meat Boy.
I'd suggest saying "being inspired by other titles" instead for clarity- I think this should stay personally. When writing leads I try to think of what the reader would want to know about the topic, so I try to get into the details at least a bit. Leaving it as "he was inspired off of other titles" is too vague in my opinion, and would leave the reader unsatisfied.
- Oh no! I think it should stay too. I meant that "off of" should be replaced by "by", but the section remains there 🌷Reverosie🌷★talk★ 16:57, 11 August 2025 (UTC)

- Suggestion: P3S2:
The level creating feature
I'd suggest saying "level creation" instead. I'd also suggest linking the article for level editors here first instead of later.
Done - P3S2:
and has spawned a large and growing community of players that have created many millions of online levels, including challenges, art projects, and even recreating other video games inside of levels.
This sentence is very long. I'd suggest editing it a bit. Maybe something along the lines of "...and has attracted a large community of players who have created millions of online levels including challenges, art projects, and recreations of other video games."
Done - P4: I'd suggest mentioning GD Lite before mentioning the spinoff games
Done - Suggestion: P4S3:
although feature their own levels and music separately.
I'd suggest saying "but feature their own levels and music" instead for clarity
Done
Gameplay
- P1S2:
The game's control scheme is extremely simple; there is only one button the player can use to control their icon, navigating through auto-scrolling levels until the end is reached
Loaded words. I'd suggest saying something like "The player uses one button to control their icon, navigating..." instead.
Done - Suggestion: P1S6:
including portals, pads, and orbs that change the player's gravity, speed, size, direction, and gamemode.
I'd suggest specifying what each of these things do instead of lumping them all together.- Most of these speak for themselves honestly, and the gamemodes are explained in the next sentence.
- Strongly encouraged suggestion: An image displaying another gamemode besides the cube could be helpful. I found a screenshot of Hexagon Force with dual ship gameplay on russian wikipedia's article. Maybe we could use that image here?
- This section should probably list each of the gamemodes
- I don't know if I have a source for this and I don't think this is really necessary.
- P1S10:
There are four official platformer levels which are located in a section of the game called 'The Tower'.
Since this is mentioned again in the next sentence, it's redundant here.
Done - P2S3:
There are three demon levels among the main levels, and the player must obtain a certain number of secret coins before they can be played.
I'd suggest rearranging this sentence to read better. Perhaps something like "The player must obtain a certain number of secret coins to unlock the three demon-difficulty levels" (Listing their names isn't necessary in my opinion, but we can if it would help)- I don't have a source for the amount of secret coins needed
- P3S2:
including the icon's design in different gamemodes, primary and secondary colors, death explosion effects, and trails.
"The icon's design, colors, death effect, and trail" would be more concise in my opinion
Done
User-generated content
- Possible suggestion: I'm not sure how this would work in regards to copyright, but in my opinion, an image of a user-generated level would be very helpful in this article. Any famous or high-quality level would do, but I'd suggest choosing Bloodbath, as it's not only a very famous level, but also showcases the extreme demon difficulty mentioned in this section.
- Adding something like this would be fine in my opinion for copyright (as long as guidlines are followed obv) and it would also adress your other suggestion about showing gamemodes, but I'm still not sure about doing it. Someone earlier added an image of the level editor which I think would be better, but it was removed because of some technical issues (i explained in an edit log i think). I could make my own version of this image possibly though.
- P1S4:
User-made levels of sufficient quality may be "rated" by Topala, which will set the official difficulty rating of the level. Only rated levels award collectibles.
I'd suggest saying like "Which will set the official difficulty and make the level award collectibles like stars and orbs." instead to be concise.- Not sure how or even if I want to do this; I can't really find a way to merge the two without creating ambiguity or a run-on sentence.
- P1S6:
which are collected in a similar way to secret coins
I'd suggest saying "which are similar to secret coins" instead for clarity (and since many user-created levels have secret coin routes that are nothing like the main levels)
Done - P2S2:
Some parts of the community are dedicated to making levels as difficult as possible,
I'd suggest mentioning the demon list somewhere here as well- I've thought about this and I don't know how I feel about it; I just don't think this info is necessary and could easily just become a trivia section about demons, which has happened before.
- It's easy enough to note "The community maintains a list of the hardest levels, and players who beat them earn significant prestige." or similar, though I'm not sure whether a source could back it up. Perhaps with an inline comment to specify that editors should not specify what the hardest level currently is? Corsaka (talk) 14:52, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
- I've thought about this and I don't know how I feel about it; I just don't think this info is necessary and could easily just become a trivia section about demons, which has happened before.
- General: This section should mention the gauntlets (and their corresponding contests) and map packs.
- General: This section should also mention the daily level, weekly demon, and event level.
- Undecided on this and the above
- Something to point out: General: Wikimedia commons has an audio file of electroman adventures v3:
I'll leave it up to you if the article should use this or not.
- There was actually an audio file for Stereo Madness on the page at some point but it got removed from Commons. This song isn't even from an official level so I don't really see a reason to add it.

GA Review Information
I'm making a slight change to the way I review GANs and wanted to let you know about it. I find it useless to point out small grammatical suggestions in these reviews that I could easily fix myself. My suggestions will relate to things that require your thought and attention, not small things that I can do myself without bothering you. So, if the review seems short and concise, it's because I'm fixing the very minor grammatical errors instead of pointing them out without doing anything. This will be effective immediately, and I'm sorry to change my strategy in the middle of the review, but it will be completed much faster now. 🌷Reverosie🌷★talk★ 21:34, 13 August 2025 (UTC)
Post-Release
This section, in general, is far too short. The article immediately skips to update 2.1 after the game's release without anything else being mentioned. Perhaps a chronology of the game's updates (as seen on French Wikipedia's article) could help here. The article also neglects to mention any of the content released in any update besides 2.2. Overall, the section needs quite a bit of work.
- This really bugs me because I have searched for multiple hours trying to find sources for post release stuff. Basically the only source I found was from the version museum, which we've cut out of this article because it's unreliable (see the talk page discussion). If you could find a source that would be great, but I really doubt there are any out there. I really am not sure how to deal with this. Even a chronology might not work because the app store only saved update release dates back to 1.2, and I have not found a reliable source for the 1.1 release date.
- I spent quite a bit of time looking, and you're right. Since I found nothing myself, I'll let you off of the hook here.
Closing remarks
The article generally looks good, but I still have a few comments before I pass it.
1. I understand the struggle with sources, but having so much information about the game's chronology/updates missing from the article as a result of this is alarming. I read over the thread explaining why the Version Museum is not reliable, and I agree that we should not use it.
My proposal for a solution is quite far-fetched, but it's the only idea I have at the moment: citing the game itself (via previous versions of it on internet archive) to point out new features released from the beginning instead of skipping to 2.1. However, I'm not sure exactly how this would work, and I understand if it does not.
- I'm also not sure how this would work and I highly doubt this would be an appropriate way to cite this info, considering an entire section would be based on a primary source. This also wouldn't give release dates.
2. I'd like closure regarding the inclusion of gauntlets/gauntlet contests, map packs, daily levels, weekly demons, and event levels in the article. I did notice that daily levels and weekly demons are mentioned in GD World's section of the article, but nothing here points to them being in the main game. I personally think that these are key features worth mentioning.
Done
3. I notice that you added the game's logo to the article, but in doing so, you replaced the app icon. Please add the app icon back somewhere.
- This image was deleted from Commons

- @ZKevinTheCat@PresN Hello! I'm so sorry this took so long for me to get to! I've been very busy off of Wikipedia lately, and I'm just now getting back. As I've already said on my talk page, the part about the game's history is an enigma to me; we do NOT have any sources, but the section is very desolate and nowhere near GA status for that reason. - @Reverosie @ZKevinTheCat What's the status of this review? Tarlby (t) (c) 19:36, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
@Reverosie and ZKevinTheCat: I found my way here after seeing the second opinion request at WP:GAN. As it looks to me, the article appears to be in good shape. If further sourcing existed but was missing from the article that would be a problem, but if each of you have searched extensively and come up dry, that's not a knock against the article, in my opinion. WP:GACR says good articles must be broad in their coverage, not comprehensive, and I believe this article meets that standard (if the Development section was one or two sentences long I'd have more of an issue, but what's there doesn't qualify as desolate
, I don't think). So that's my two cents, but I'll leave the final decision to the reviewer. DrOrinScrivello (talk) 14:41, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- @ZKevinTheCat I'd like to sincerely apologize to you for how long this review took. Truly, it exemplified all of the things that I need to fix as a reviewer, and your experience shouldn't have been like this. I'd like to make it up to you.
- For your next five GA reviews, once you've nominated the article, simply leave a message on my talk page, and I will get it done for you as quickly as possible. My conduct as a reviewer was simply unacceptable, and you, as the nominator, deserved far better than you got.

Some additional stuff
If possible, we can add the "Modding" content, which is about modding GD via Geode, fangames, and probably a list of in-game moderators, both level and elder. Izaanian (talk) 08:40, 27 July 2025 (UTC)
- In-game moderator list feels like a case of WP:NOTDB to me. It's changing constantly and not especially relevant to GD's notability. As for modding, unless there's specific sources highlighting GD's modding as being unique in some way, I'm not sure it's a worthy inclusion either. Corsaka (talk) 09:09, 18 August 2025 (UTC)

Gonna elaborate on the denomdifficulties with the easy demon, medium demons, hard demons, insane demons and extreme demons. I will also remove the word “traditional ” before platformers as platformers are not traditional, they were added 3 years ago IceCreamToaster (talk) 05:55, 29 August 2025 (UTC)
- I mean 2 IceCreamToaster (talk) 05:56, 29 August 2025 (UTC)
- The use if the word 'traditional' in this context doesn't mean 'original'. It's meant in the sense that platformer levels in Geometry Dash are more akin to the traditional platformer levels seen in other games. As for the difficulties, I'm not sure what else there is to elaborate on. Listing them is enough in my opinion. There really isn't any more nuance.

- I noticed that too — some of the historical details and the information about the long gap before 2.2 could definitely use an update. Bringing those sections in line with the latest reliable sources would help keep the article accurate and relevant for readers who are following the game’s development history. Jozaf dyny (talk) 05:45, 15 August 2025 (UTC)
- “I think the redirect Geometry Challenge can still be useful for readers who may not immediately search for the exact title of the game. The phrase feels like a common search term and could reasonably point users toward the Geometry Dash content. If the concern is about clarity, perhaps a hatnote or disambiguation could help instead of deleting the redirect completely.” Meltonmarry (talk) 16:31, 1 September 2025 (UTC)

Gameplay

Add terminology?
i think we should add terminology due to the fact that GD terminology may be confusing to newer players, i.e. "Jump" can either be a main game mechanic, or it can mean progressing from an easier level to a more difficult level than what would be expected from usual progression. Rhys North (talk) 22:04, 22 January 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah it's kinda confusing it has two particular meanings, both only understood by people who play the game. I think the former is more important to talk about though, since it's actually part of the game, and the latter will probably not merit a mention. LivinAWestLife (talk) 23:40, 22 January 2026 (UTC)

Peer review

I've been working on this article for several months now. I nominated it for GA in late August and it passed in October after a lengthy review process. I nominated it for FA shortly after and was hit with a truth nuke; many of the sources used were pretty garbage. Octave provided a list of 16 potentially problematic sources, which was about 1/3 of all citations. I have eliminated 9 of them, a majority being things like student publications or listed as unreliable sources over at WP VG. There is one source (Touch, Tap, Play!) left that is unreliable, but I am unable to find a replacement. There are also two others, Udonis and Sensor Tower, that I am unsure of. I suspect they are probably somewhat reliable, given that they are just using app intelligence services to estimate sales.
What I'm asking for is basically just a source check. If you could provide any more reliable sources, including replacement sources or ones with new information, that would be greatly appreciated. I would also appreciate any opinions on whether this should recieve a GA reassessment. The article was definitely not in shape when it passed, as both the reviewer and I were not aware of the standards of VG articles at the time. Any additional improvement ideas are also welcome.
Thanks, ZKevinTheCat (talk) 06:22, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hi. Sensor Tower might be fine because it was used at Genshin Impact's FAC that has decent argument. Google Play, Steam, and AndroidGuys are used for extremely trivial information (There is this Vandal article with no author that gives the release date on PC although it has no author, would this be acceptable?). - In the lede, I would not include the specific date of the month as that bogs down readability and you have exact dates in the infobox.
- In the release section and elsewhere I would not include dates of announcements (unless it is for some future game yet released to give an idea when it was announced). Its a similar problem with the lede, that a lot of dates in a row can lead to readability issues.
- I have not seen the practice before of separating the primary sources from the dev from the third-party ones. It is obvious from the way it'ss split that you have reliable independent sources being used, notability is not in question, and there's nothing wrong with using a handful of primaries to back up simple, non-contested date like release dates, but I don't know if you need to actually separate the sources like that. The Impossible Game: mere "inspiration"?
The article is severly downplaying the fact that Geometry Dash's fundamental gameplay and aesthetics are straight copies of The Impossible Game. It merely states that it was "inspired by other titles such as The Impossible Game and Super Meat Boy", which is misleading, as it suggests that the parallels to (the rather obscure) TIG are similarly faint as to (the much more well-known) Super Meat Boy. ~2026-79198-9 (talk) 11:03, 5 February 2026 (UTC)

I have a feeling that the game might reach another peak soon, since its broken it's own player peak every month so far in 2026. This might be worth adding in some way. This is my first time contributing to a Wikipedia article, so I'm not sure. ~2026-16836-12 (talk) 12:32, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
Done. The sentence has been changed to "This continued to rise into January 2026". Articles typically don't use SteamDB info, as it is not completely reliable. If a reliable source discusses the subject then this information may be added in the future. If you're wondering how to use and contribute to Wikipedia, Wikipedia:Contributing to Wikipedia is a good place to start. ZKevinTheCat (talk) 16:00, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks! But isn't SteamDB the MOST reliable, if not the only, source for this, other than directly from the developers? I'm pretty sure the TheGamer article just got it's info from SteamDB. ~2026-17027-14 (talk) 14:04, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
- Fair point. There's a discussion here if you want to read it, but in short, SteamDB just uses estimates for its statistics, and does not have any editorial control or factchecking policies. However, if an article from a reliable discusses the subject, then that claim can be verified. According to the Wikiproject video games sources page, content from TheGamer is generally considered reliable if it was published after 2020, so it is usable here. If you want to start a conversation on the topic, you can go to the Video games sources page and discuss it there. Let's try not to use this place so that the page remains on topic. - Thanks! But isn't SteamDB the MOST reliable, if not the only, source for this, other than directly from the developers? I'm pretty sure the TheGamer article just got it's info from SteamDB. ~2026-17027-14 (talk) 14:04, 18 March 2026 (UTC)

Demonlist?
I feel like there should be a reference to at least the top 3 demon levels, like a seperate section attaining to all the demonlists and naming a few from pointercrate or global. Finalities (talk) 00:39, 23 March 2026 (UTC)
- Nevermind lol Finalities (talk) 00:47, 23 March 2026 (UTC)

Other demonlists run by the community
All rated extreme demons list(AREDL) and the Global Demonlist should be here and not just Pointercrate aswell as possibly the Impossible levels list ~2026-43022 (talk) 01:02, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
- ILL is not relevant here, and the Pointercrate list is not used here I think Finalities (talk) 00:48, 23 March 2026 (UTC)
- global demonlist consists of a small number of verified but unrated demons which may affect the places of rated top hundred demons on the actual rated level demonlists such as AREDL and pointercrate which deserve a place on this article. ~2026-18407-51 (talk) 15:17, 24 March 2026 (UTC)
- It would be nice to include the upcoming/future demonlist as a source like pointercrate and possibly be mentioned in the article ~2026-18407-51 (talk) 13:13, 25 March 2026 (UTC)

Change website link from robtopgames.com to geometrydash.com, this is a new official website for the game(see https://steamcommunity.com/app/322170/eventcomments/798966028860364003), this will greatly counter the popularity of hoax websites with the fake game and is a proper change overall considering that website is way more game-specific Afterboostables (talk) 12:47, 4 April 2026 (UTC)
Gd awards
the gd awards should be on here considering its a pretty big thing for the community ~2026-43022 (talk) 00:55, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
- Despite how big it might seem, the GD awards aren't notable enough to warrant a mention on this article, especially as there's no reliable sources covering them. This information would fit better on the game's wiki. Corsaka (talk) 17:20, 8 April 2026 (UTC)
Should geometrydash.com get added into the Infobox?
It's the new official website for Geometry Dash Nugs | T·C | (they/she) 19:49, 4 April 2026 (UTC)
- It's in the "External links" section at the bottom of the page! Corsaka (talk) 17:15, 8 April 2026 (UTC)

Change (Each level is assigned one of six difficulties: "easy", "normal", "hard", "harder", "insane", and "demon") to (Each level can have one of seven difficulties: "auto", "easy, "normal", "hard", "harder", "insane", and "demon". Additionally, the demon difficulty can have one of five ratings within itself: "easy demon", "medium demon", "hard demon", "insane demon", and "extreme demon".) ~2026-10836-91 (talk) 03:52, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want made. Day Creature (talk) 05:37, 26 February 2026 (UTC)- I will also note that this information is already in the article:
Levels may be rated one of the six difficulties the main levels have, or given the "auto" difficulty if user input is not required to complete the level.
User-made demon levels are divided into five additional difficulties: "easy demon", "medium demon", "hard demon", "insane demon", and "extreme demon"
ZKevinTheCat (talk) 03:22, 27 February 2026 (UTC)- this pargraph as depicted above seems a bit vague when appproching the topic of gd difficulties, as the current information is devoid of any other gd difficulties. (Unfortunately I will not be able to state any valid sources). Needless to say, the available difficulties are important to know when understnding gd. ~2026-18407-51 (talk) 14:59, 24 March 2026 (UTC)

new website
Robert Topala has launched his new and official Geometry dash website: https://www.geometrydash.com/. I was wondering if this could be included too. Elliott Crowell (talk) 12:48, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
- You could list in the external links section, sure. Seeing you're fairly new here, do you know how to add one properly? soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 12:53, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
