Proposed deletion of Uma Subramaniam

edit
Notice

The article Uma Subramaniam has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Tagged for notability and other concerns for 13 years. No other language has a reliably sourced article from which to translate. Poorly sourced WP:BLP. The "scandal" is a classic example of WP:BLP1E. Created by and heavily edited by a now-banned army of Sockpuppets.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.

If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. Bearian (talk) 03:03, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Draft: Vidya Bhavani Suresh

edit

Hi, I am looking for help with the draft page mentioned above. An IRC volunteer reviewed the page and gave their inputs on the reliability of the sources, but suggested I take a second opinion from WikiProject India from editors familiar with Indian performing arts (Dance, carnatic music), specifically for sources like: Independent reviews of her books on Indian performing arts in newspapers like The Hindu and others Book reviews of her books in reputable newspapers and magazines in Tamil language (As a clarification, Vidya writes in English, only these reviews are in Tamil). Five Indian universities independently prescribing her books in their academic syllabi Mahithasuresh1 (talk) 18:07, 10 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Political Party colours

edit

The Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party was using the Purple colour initially; i guess since the start. It was later changed in 2023 by @Articist: to a shade of Orange and it was again changed to a Brown shade by @XYZ 250706:. But it seems that other Wikipedias like in German, in Catalan, in Punjabi, in Malayalam and in Marathi still use the Purple colour. (Exceptions are in Hindi, in Tamil and in Telegu; which use Brown and are following English WP and Bangla uses White; which is probably some vandal's act.)

First Purple colour
Changed to Orange shade
Then changed to Brown

Now, the problem is; was the purple colour that was used for so many years a valid one? Was it changed to Orange since the party was an ally of BJP? Was it then changed to match the Brown lion that appears on the flag/logo of the party? How do we determine such colours? The party doesnt have their official website for us to go and observe the general theme they are using. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 11:18, 11 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Similar stuff is with NCP and its factions. Currently we have following shades being used:
Nationalist Congress Party - Sharadchandra Pawar
Nationalist Congress Party
Nationalist Congress Party (pre–2023)
So now all the pre-2023/pre-split pages show pink colour (i dont know why that shade was selected!!) because we are not going to change the templates of all pre-2023 pages. It would have made sense that post-2023 was made a different shade. But the question remains on how these colours are even selected and WP:CONSENSUS is never taken or what? §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 12:55, 12 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

School articles (Indian subcontinent)

edit

Hello, Good Day. I am facing a difficult time with a large number of school, college/university articles being quickly PROD-ed by User:Filmssssssssssss. Kindly note: a) most or all of these articles were crated much before 2017 WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES. b) the articles are Indian subcontinent related, and it is essential to search in native languages or using Google News Archive or custom search. However the articles are mostly being PROD-ed, very unlikely without WP:BEFORE. As a result a bunch of high school, college/university articles are in danger. The biggest problem is the speed in which the articles are being PROD-ed. After 2017 SCHOOLOUTCOMES things have changed however possibly some of the school/college/university articles could be saved. --Titodutta (talk) 04:59, 15 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
