Question from Arkham Knightz on Pedram Salimpour (17:31, 23 February 2026)
editSalimpour is the founding chairman of the board of Directors of the Discovery Science Museum in Los Angeles.[1] is this an information that should be kept in personal life. this information is from the page of Pedram Salimpour --Arkham Knightz (talk) 17:31, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
- I would say so, yes. This is information about his more personal job excursions, not his work as an author or a business executive.
- (P.S. apologies for the super late response, I'd forgotten to mark myself as away from mentorship).

- Hi there! Super late response, my apologies.
- You can add more info to the Zyklon article by finding sources that give info on new releases or work by the band that is not in the article. Wikiproject albums has a list of sources you could potentially find information with here.

Question from Theduckgod (09:17, 8 March 2026)
edithow not to have your edits removed by a vandalism bot ? thank --Theduckgod (talk) 09:17, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hi! This response is insanely late, and I apologize profusely for the trouble. I think the revert had to do with a few things. Firstly, the age of your acccount. Cluebot is a bit harder on new accounts because trolls and vandals don't exactly wait to cause their trouble. Another is sources. If you could find a source that says that model is the most sought after, put it in along with your edit. (see more at WP:CITE).
- Thank you, apologies again!

editHello, thank you for being my mentor on Wikipedia. Could you please help me to resolve this issue: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Samuil.p.marinov about the latest comment from pythoncoder user? --Samuil.p.marinov (talk) 16:14, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
- AI clean-up can be a little hard. I would start by going through each source and finding info that is missing from your draft, then summarizing it (basically, expand on what is already there). Your work may look like an LLM because it contains a few extra words that aren't really standard in our MOS. For example,
The company has developed artificial intelligence applications including chatbots and desktop automation software
would be seen as more human written as "MaxSoft has developed desktop automation software and chatbots." - I hope that makes sense?

- Hmm. I think it would help if you compared your work to some of the stuff at the signs of AI writing page. It sucks that human work can be so easily mistaken nowadays, which would require more effort to "be human" on your part.

- @Samuil.p.marinov I appreciate that you took the time to rewrite the article yourself. I looked at the draft again, and I’m recalling that my concern was how the draft is still written in a style of “(SUBJECT) has been covered in outlets A, B, and C” (commonly used by LLMs) instead of the more encyclopedic style of summarizing facts and citing sources. In-text attribution is not necessary most of the time; one exception is when you directly quote the source. —pythoncoder (talk | contribs) 23:14, 16 March 2026 (UTC)

Question from Apollo.bites (23:00, 19 March 2026)
editHi! I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but I don't want to mess this up. I would love to create an article about a band from my city to celebrate it's first year of existence, but I haven't done much editing in Wikipedia yet. Do you think it would be possible and what can I do to make sure it's all correct and won't get taken down? --Apollo.bites (talk) 23:00, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
- I would start with collecting all the sources about the band in question. Then, summarize what the sources say in a draft. You can create one of those with our draft wizard. The only way I can see it getting taken down or denied is if you use AI to write it, don't cite sources, or if it doesn't meet our notability guidelines.
- Much love, rock on, and good luck with your draft!

Hi, I'm a new Wikipedia user. I'm just an undergrad (finishing 2nd year of engineering school). Should I wait to get some sort of specialized degree before editing anything important, or do you instead recommend I start editing now? I am eager to improve Wikipedia however I can, but I'm afraid of making mistakes and misinforming people. --Twingyorg (talk) 18:18, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
- Don't wait at all! We could certainly use your contributions. Most Wikipedia users aren't specialists, just nerds (myself included). Don't be nervous about making mistakes, that only holds you back from learning! As long as you can find a reliable source, your fellow Wikipedians will totally welcome your contributions. One of our biggest pillars is to be bold! I myself have some trouble remembering that, so don't beat yourself up.

editHow to improve this article? --Rekhamoni Duari (talk) 07:20, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
- The most obvious issue to me with this article is its sourcing. You can see a few places where it says "citation needed." I reccommend improving the article by finding sources for the unsourced information/to go in place of the "citation needed" notifications. You can find a guide to creating citations here.

editing
editHello Arkaden, I'm a new mentee of yours. I've read the Help:Introduction to editing with VisualEditor/1 and watched the video, gone to my preferences, checked the Enable Visual Editor and Use the VE toolbar, then Saved my Preferences, saw "Your Preferences have been Saved. Then went to the page I wanted to edit and didn't see any edit buttons. refreshed, still no buttons. opened another article. still no edit buttons. One page I was wanting to edit was: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Pasteur. Thanks for your help. Peter Bluepeter2020 (talk) 17:32, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hello hello! I think I see why you aren't seeing any edit buttons. It's not because something is wrong or glitching—but because the page is semi-protected. This means that since your account is not auto-confirmed, you cannot yet edit this page. Don't worry! You don't have to do very much to become autoconfirmed. You need two things: 10 edits (which isn't at all difficult to achieve—I recommend using the link suggestion feature on the "recommended edits" you should see on your homepage. The second part is a waiting game—your account must exist for four days. Given it was created today (to my knowledge), you should be able to edit the article on Louis Pasteur on Saturday, the 29th.
- Much love, rock on, and welcome!
- Feel free to ask me any more questions!
- ⚠︎ ArkadenBoden ⚠︎ (talk) 18:04, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
- Also, I noticed that you gave me the url to the article. I just wanted to let you know that you don't have to!
- Wikipedia uses this nifty thing called "Wikitext" which allows you to link to articles and pages on this site without needing the complete url. You can do this with the visual editor by selecting the word you want to link and then searching for the article. I personally prefer to use the source editing, but it can be intimidating for a beginner. Thankfully, you can switch between the two and your changes will be saved between them!
- To link something in the source editor, you format it like this: LINK TEXT.
- For Pasteur's article, it would be written like this: link text. If the article title is the same as the text you've typed out, you dont need the |! It would be formatted like this: Louis Pasteur.
- For more about Wikitext, see this.
- P.S. I hope this rambling about Wikitext doesn't seem pretentious or overly-corrective. You didn't do any wrong; I'm just a bit of a Wikipedia nerd who's eager to help newcomers where I see they could use it.
- Much love, rock on as always!

Question from ChaosControl419 (19:05, 26 March 2026)
editHi, I just joined Wikipedia to make an edit to a page but the system keeps auto rejecting my edit. It's a very small edit to the page 2010 Millbury tornado where it references Lake Township, Logan County, Ohio but that is the wrong Lake Township (it should be Lake Township, Wood County, Ohio). I tried to report a false positive, but when I tried to submit a report I received an error about "The page you are trying to visit doesn't exist". I'm just a little frustrated with trying to make this minor edit. Any help would be appreciated. --ChaosControl419 (talk) 19:05, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
- Apologies for my late response, I logged off for the night when you sent in my message. I'm not sure why the page wouldn't be available, but I hope this link could help? I think the edit filter is probably being a little tougher on you because you're on a new account. I think maybe, in part, it was the edit summary. In my experience, a lot of false positives tend to be on more in-detail summaries new accounts have made. It's possible "fixed link—was linking to wrong place" could've not been flagged. Of course, take that with a grain of salt. I'm sort of just basing it on what I see while patrolling for vandalism. I hope it doesn't discourage you! To get it to be a little less tough, I'd try making a few suggested edits you can find on your homepage. Or, if you're more inclined towards similar articles, I would suggest looking at the Wikiproject weather page to see what you can do.
- Much love, rock on!
- ⚠︎ ArkadenBoden ⚠︎ (talk) 11:54, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- @ChaosControl419, I can confirm that this is happening because you're a brand new account trying to make the kind of edit that some long-term vandals keep trying to make. Make some other edits elsewhere, let your account get a little older, and it will stop triggering. Sorry about that. -- asilvering (talk) 04:04, 28 March 2026 (UTC)

Question from AgentSecret12345 (00:27, 28 March 2026)
editHello, if you don't know some information about a citation (like author's first and last name), what should you put? --AgentSecret12345 (talk) 00:27, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hello there! Apologies for the super late response, I've been away. It depends. If it's from a broader organization, and they don't list an author, the "last" and "first" parameters in your citation can just be removed—they aren't required. If the website lists the author as "anonymous," just put "Anonymous" under the "last" parameter.

Any chance you know why it could be doing so? --Pleasenotanothereust (talk) 15:16, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
- Apologies for the late response. You should probably be able to do it now that I've responded, but these unexpected result errors are usually a result of glitches in the server cache. Question from HammerOfSparx on Dominik Diamond (22:55, 3 April 2026)
editHi. I added my first ever edit today. It was about Dominik Diamond, under ‘Personal Life’ section. He is a lifelong Celtic FC fan, but on a recent podcast in Canada he made the statement I attributed to him. I added the link to the episode as reference. Is that ok? --HammerOfSparx (talk) 22:55, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
- Apologies for my belated response. As long as the episode is cited as a reference, it should be ok. Just try to adhere to neutral point of view and our rules about undue weight. All that really means is try to make sure it's just written as "Diamond said ___" and doesn't necessarily suggest anything particularly controversial about others or himself. Also make sure the statement isn't 'given too much weight.' If it's something he said in passing, or something that is otherwise not an influence on his career or what sources say about him, it wouldn't be put in the article.
- I hope that makes sense?

How could I add a link to an IMDB section of a film to add proof on a producer role of an actor? I linked it through then and off he movie, but it was removed. --AGreenSunflower (talk) 09:27, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hello! Apologies for my late response. It was removed because IMDB is not considered a reliable source. That's because the content on IMDB is edited and created by independent users, like Wikipedia, so we can't know for sure if something is reliable. To find something else to prove the producer role, I would look at this page on the WikiProject Film page. They have a ton of links over there I hope you find useful.

Brett Kimberlin Deletion
editHello, I submitted a request for page deletion (Brett Kimberlin) more than two weeks ago and the page still has not been deleted. It is my understanding that such a deletion should be done within 7 days. I am a living person and I have extensively outlined why the page must be deleted. There has been no discussion or opposition to my request for deletion. Please delete the page asap. BrettKimberlin (talk) 15:10, 6 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hello Brett! Apologies for my belated response. Unfortunately, I doubt the article will be deleted given you pass our notability guidelines. I certainly can see why you're concerned, but the article can only really be edited to fix the issues rather than be deleted. You are a notable person, and Wikipedia is supposed to detail your life (good AND bad parts). You can edit it yourself to adhere to neutral point of view as long as you disclose a conflict of interest on your user page. You can do that by placing this userbox on your page.
- Apologies.

What is a good way to see what is subjective? --DWoood (talk) 20:09, 8 April 2026 (UTC)
- Gee... late response. My apologies.
- What is subjective is typically what can have multiple opinions made on it. I think of it as "what is factual" vs "what can be argued upon." For example, whether or not a peanut butter and jelly sandwich tastes good is subjective, but it is factual that it is comprised of both peanut butter and jelly, so that is not subjective.
- Things that are subjective can also be deduced from factual information, so we have to be careful to be WP:DUE so we don't necessarily push any readers towards a specific view from the facts (per WP:NPOV)
- For a more practical example, think of a painting. I might find the painting ugly, and you might find it pretty. That is subjective. What is not subjective is that an artist created it and had an intention with that creation.
- I hope this makes sense. Being subjective is sort of complex and hard to define. One could even say it's subjective.
- Ok, bad joke. Sorry.
- Much love, rock on!

Next, I would create a list of reliable sources that give info on that said game/company. Hi again! I have a question about TV shows --
I have read the MOS about adding images, but it doesn't really specify what to do about visual media with unique logos vs. title cards. For example, I was looking into making an svg of the South Park logo (predictable, I know,) only to find there's already one in Commons commons:File:South park sign.svg, but on en:South Park it's just the title card from season 15 onwards. Meanwhile, other TV shows have proper vectorized logos, like the page for en:Breaking Bad and en:The Sopranos (the latter even uses an asset from an official press kit.)
Now, I know that simple text-based logos can't be copyrighted and are therefore public domain, so that might be a strong argument for using a simple (free as in freedom!) logo rather than a low resolution screenshot as the main image for an article, but again, the fact that there are already vectorized logos for some shows that go unused makes me reconsider changing them all to svgs.
Has there been a discussion about this, or is there a page in the MOS that I missed about this? Thank you. --Kalio2048 (talk) 21:45, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hello Hello! I think what happened with the South Park page was possibly an oversight/used to illustrate the show itself a little better. Due to MOS' favoring public domain files, typically that commons file would absolutely be used for South Park. I'd look to see if there's some sort of consensus to use the title card. I think your best bet is to open a topic on the South Park article's talk page and ask about it.
- Much love, rock on!

Question from Kschultz1 on User talk:Kschultz1 (18:54, 4 May 2026)
editHello. I was wondering if articles from a local newspaper would count as credible sources and citations to help get an article published? --Kschultz1 (talk) 18:54, 4 May 2026 (UTC)
- In part, yes! They are helpful for more specific details, but some sort of wider-range reliable source/newspaper is ideal as well. This is because of WP:NOTNEWS, which basically means that local routine coverage may not qualify notability. For more on that, you can see what is and is not routine coverage. Basically, you can absolutely use local papers for details, but it can't be the only thing you rely on.
- Much love, rock on, and good luck with your draft!

Hi there. I need a bit of help with the templates on the article Mercedes-Benz W108/W109. I made 3x2 collection, but I am not sure how to get the width to automatically fit the screen, to stretch them to the max. Also, as the pictures are of different h x w ratio, is there a way to crop their thumbnails. (Maybe there is a different template that can be used).
Second one, towards the end of the article there is a timeline, but I was wondering that shows one year per cell. Is there a way to break the blocks by month, rather than rounding it off to a year.
Since I've spend the last two weeks reworking this article, will it qualify for a DYK or is not even worth trying? --Carfan87 (talk) 19:40, 5 May 2026 (UTC)
Question from Siddharth samant, 108 (04:23, 9 May 2026)
editI would like to request a clarification/update regarding the community background of Suvendu Adhikari,Multiple reliable news sources, including News18, NDTV, Hindustan Times, Republic, and several regional media outlets, have described Suvendu Adhikari and his paternal family as belonging to the Mahishya community. Reports also mention that his uncle and grandfather were identified with the Mahishya Kshatriya community,At the same time, some reports mention that his mother belongs to a Vaishnav Brahmin family from the Barishal region of present-day Bangladesh.,Since multiple published sources discuss these details, I request editors to review and include the information in a neutral and properly sourced manner, according to Wikipedia policies on verifiability and reliable sourcing Source: Caste, Cadre, Consolidation & Combat: Why BJP Went All-In On Suvendu Adhikari As Its Bengal CM Pick | India News - News18 --Siddharth samant, 108 (talk) 04:23, 9 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from BranG Edit (19:57, 11 May 2026)
edit- Note: BranG Edit's mentor Bsoyka is away.
Hello, I am having a problem changing the photograph on Phil Noble Jr. page. Mr. Noble has asked me to change the photograph and I have attempted to upload the image he has given me multiple times but it continues to be replaced. The image Mr. Noble would like to use is an image that belongs to him. Can you help? --BranG Edit (talk) 19:57, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
- You should be able to upload it to the Wikimedia Commons and then add it, rather than adding it natively here to Wikipedia. Unfortunately that is a complicated process. He can generate a permission email here, and then you can submit it to the commons using the their upload wizard. If he would like to avoid the trouble, Mr. Noble can upload it himself.
- Thank you for the question, apologies for the late response.

Question from Liberians gistz (16:01, 17 May 2026)
editHello how do I write about a celebrity --Liberians gistz (talk) 16:01, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hello!
- First, you make sure the celebrity in question is notable. Given they're a celebrity, they probably are. Then, you find reliable sources that tell you about that celebrity. You're going to need a lot of these if the celebrity is alive (per our guidelines on biographies of living persons). Then, you can get to writing. You can see our guidelines for how biographies are written here. I also personally find our biographies dos and don'ts really helpful.
- If you have any more specific questions, you're welcome to ask!
- Much love, rock on, happy writing!

How to grow an article
editI was feeling a little overzealous and so I immediately made a page for Stellar Blade: Blood Rain, a game that was just announced. The page is currently a stub, but I plan to add information as soon as possible to bring it up to standards in a quick period of time. Questions about doing that:
Is it acceptable to add appropriately sourced speculative information that’s widely agreed upon (ex: most reporters agree that the reason the game went first party for publishing was to allow them to put the game on more platforms, the developers never said this but it was implied in something they said). What about credible leaks and teasers?
Also, what images would be permitted for use in a sidebar about the game? Promotional images? Images from the trailer that game articles reuse?
Also I want to immediately start cross referencing (replacing references to Stellar Blade 2 with Stellar Blade: Blood Rain, mention the sequel and link to it from the Stellar Blade Page), is this a bad idea if the article is current a bit of a stub?
Also I tend to edit bit by bit (bad habit) because I worry that if someone else edits the article at the same time as me my edits will be lost or it will lead to a git merge type situation? Will this be mistakenly flagged as abusing edits, or should I when I sit down to edit for a session only commit an edit once I’m done with that entire session?
Mainly I'm just wondering what the right way to expand the article is when so little information is currently known about the game (mainly we have a trailer).
Wik206 (talk) 23:27, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hello hello!
- 1. As long as it is appropriately sourced and attributed ("xyz said that…") Credible leaks & teasers should be ok if sourced by credible secondary sources and/or from the devs themselves. Do note that's to my knowledge—I'm inexperienced in the video games WikiProject and I'm unaware if they have any sort of norms surrounding leaks. If you get in any sort of trouble with it, that would be my bad. Think of it as a learning experience for both of us!
- 2. Either images that game articles re-use or some sort of title logo/game cover. Try to use something that includes the title. Similar to how Stellar Blade's current page is a cover art/promo with the title displayed. I hope that makes sense.
- 3. I think cross referencing should be appropriate here, even if it is a stub.
- 4. As long as you don't break any templates, delete a ton of stuff without explaining why, and/or leave unfinished sentences, no. In fact, I don't think editing bit by bit is a bad approach. It's simply how some editors approach things, myself included!
- Much love, rock on, and thank you for your questions! ⚠︎ ArkadenBoden ⚠︎ (talk) 20:10, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
Viability of an Article on Sexualization of Women in video games
edit1st good news the Blood Rain article got ranked as starter :D As I was doing research for Blood Rain I was reminded that over the years there have been a series of controversies surrounding sexualization of women in video over the years. I was wondering if it would be notable to have an article on either sexualization of women in video games, or controversies surrounding individual female character designs in video games. But I've also realized that if a page on this topic does not exist despite it being widely know for years, there likely is a good reason it doesn’t exist. Do you know a good place where I could discuss this with relevant editors? And also here are the main arguments I’ve come up for and against such an article:
For: There does not appear to be a centralized article on sexualization, at least to match the depth that the argument has evolved over the years (it's likely I just haven't looked hard enough), though it is mentioned in the following articles Gender representation in video games, Sexual content in video games, Women and video games
I have already found three articles with that contain sections, on negative/positive reactions to a female characters sexualization that could be the starting point for such an article. Considering the potential similarities between controversies, it would make sense to group them into one article that provided commentary on the topic as a whole.
Against: While consolidation of information on sexualization of women in video games may be notable, controversies around individual character designs likely are not. Individual controversies are not particularly interesting and likely don't meet notability requirements outside the context of their own articles as most controversies are relatively brief and follow a similar format. An article on said controversies would either look like a list of brief 1 paragraphs for each controversy, or would attempt to provide some commentary on their relation. But these controversies are all unrelated, and assuming not enough credible media has done any research connection them (which is likely the case as they are separate and unrelated), any 'commentary' on their relation to each other would fall into original research and likely violate neutral POV as well. Such article could however be notable if only a few such controversies were provided as examples and the rest of the article broadly talked on the subject of female sexualization in video games. Also, If such article were to exist it would certainly be the subject of both intense vandalism and scrutiny due to it's highly partisan and controversial nature.
