- Description
- Editing the page Tessaratomini which is not up to date, by:
suppression of Anacanthopus (junior synonym of Mattiphus), see; Magnien Ph. 2022 - Systematic notes on several Tessaratominae genera described by Arnold Lucien Montandon (Heteroptera, Tessaratomidae). Bulletin de la Société Entomologique de France 127(2): 115-123. removal of Amissus (transfer to incertae sedis) from Tessaratomina, see Magnien Ph. 2018 - Révision du genre Amissus Stål, 1863 (Heteroptera, Tessaratomidae). Bulletin de la Société Entomologique de France 122(2): 169-178. addition of localisation data for Enada, Homoiacoris and Oukhypencha see Magnien Ph. 2023 - New genera, species and subspecies of tessaratomine true bugs (Heteroptera: Tessaratomidae, Tessaratominae). Done and a change to the filter may be needed. Made edit and fixed typos. Appears to be a trip on "Amissus"... can we please make sure that we avoid the Scunthorpe problem and not have filters tripping on normal words/phrases that happen to contain something that is also used as vandalism or memes? – Taking Out The Trash (talk) 13:17, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
Note: I don't think there's anything to fix here; peninsular was misspelled and was the likely trigger. OhNoitsJamie talk 01:10, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
- I mean, that's still a Scunthorpe problem though. Is there any way to limit the conditions to only trip for standalone instances of vandal phrases, and not substrings contained within legitimate phrases? Especially for words like peninsular where a genuine typo/misspelling can result in an accidental inclusion of a vandal word. The anti-profanity filter that I'm using for my (admittedly much smaller) wiki has been successful in preventing inclusions of obscenities/profanities without generating any collateral/false positives, to the extent that I've been able to enable the "automatically block the user after a warning" feature without issue. I know that option isn't enabled for enwiki, and I'm not suggesting that it should be, but I would think there would have to be a way to only disallow the edit if it contains the 'bad words' by themselves, rather than disallowing any edit that happens to contain a string which would be a bad word on its own but is part of another word/phrase. - That's not really a Scunthorpe problem, because Scunthorpe is the actual spelling. In any case, I made a small tweak to avoid triggering on that particular misspelling. I'm not sure if a word boundary is necessary as I can imagine using that word as a prefix for mostly disruptive things. OhNoitsJamie talk 19:11, 15 June 2026 (UTC)

Done and a change to the filter may be needed. I don't see any memes in that edit. – Taking Out The Trash (talk) 13:18, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- "Deez" is going to be the hit there. – LuniZunie(talk) 04:02, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
- Oh for crying out loud. I'm only aware of exactly one meme involving that string. Do we really have to be blocking any mention of the string even when it's standalone and clearly not being used as a meme? Taking Out The Trash (talk) 14:44, 13 June 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think it may be a bit much. Hopefully an edit filter manager can take a look, I'll pin the section. – LuniZunie(talk) 15:23, 13 June 2026 (UTC)

Fixed by edit filter manager Daniel Quinlan. Removed pin by LuniZunie. Vandals don't stick to the dictionary, but it was possible to reduce the false positive rate. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 00:19, 17 June 2026 (UTC)

Question: @Austinsmatthews: Why are you adding multiple instances of File:no image.png to the article? – Taking Out The Trash (talk) 00:45, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
- This is my first attempt to create a new page drawing on original sources curated as part of my research. I relied upon page structures from similar articles chronicling other chiefs of general staff. Where portraits are unavailable, that is the framing I found. If these can be edited where available, I appreciate the guidance. Austinsmatthews (talk) 00:56, 17 June 2026 (UTC)

- Linda Goodman (filter log) (user filter log)
- Description
- added a short section on her influence to the article. Let me add a quote from the article I am citing from the New Yorker magazine: "Astrology, an ancient divination practice that has its roots in Mesopotamia and was considered an academic vocation until the eighteenth century has experienced swells of popularity over the ages, but none so pronounced as the explosion during the sixties and seventies, when horoscopes crossed fully into the mainstream. ... she [Goodman] sold the paperback rights for "Linda Goodman's Love Signs", from 1978, for $2.25 million, at the time the highest sum ever for a nonfiction book"
