Resignation and acting capacity
editBefore editing, please take in account that "resignation" does not mean that the prime minister "left the office", and that "serving in acting capacity" does not mean that the prime minister is "acting". He is still incumbent. Tahomaru (talk) 11:12, 29 January 2025 (UTC)

- Image check: his signature was tagged as your work with CC-BY-SA 4.0, I've fixed that. All the other images have copyright accounted for. (I'm deliberately not saying that they're free because under Serbian law an employer can't really release its employees work under free licenses, but I'll keep that little nugget of Serbian copyright law trivia to myself, because I don't want to be repsonsible for the deletion of thousands of images from Commons.) Captions are ok. JustARandomSquid (talk) 16:03, 1 February 2026 (UTC)
- I've done a read through, copyediting along the way, because that's probably faster than telling you what I want fixed. Some of the stuff is more of a personal stylistic choice, so if something is unclear or you disagree, tell me. The din to RSD changes are per MOS:$. The article is also stable, and looks neutral to me, and that's even looking through the lens of the heightened standard that such a controversial article needs. It also seems comprehensive and up-to-date to me. JustARandomSquid (talk) 16:39, 1 February 2026 (UTC)
- I'm going to try and use Veracity for the first time here, though I probably won't have time to complete the spot check now. JustARandomSquid (talk) 16:41, 1 February 2026 (UTC)
This table checks 23 passages from throughout the article (10.2% of 226 total passages). These passages contain 23 inline citations (9.4% of 245 in the article). Generated with the Veracity user script. JustARandomSquid (talk) 16:41, 1 February 2026 (UTC)

- I've ticked off the references that 100% unambiguously confirm the text in every detail. I'll be back tomorrow with detailed comments on the ones I haven't. Also ticking off copyright, I see no issues, and even if they were any, it'd only be for one sentence at a time, so not really an issue. JustARandomSquid (talk) 22:27, 1 February 2026 (UTC)
- We can tick off the MOS-related criteria, too, the lead is an adequate summary of the article, I see no issues with formatting, and no problematic words to watch. I see no original research, either. JustARandomSquid (talk) 23:14, 1 February 2026 (UTC)
- I'm going to go through the citations from the table that have issues. Most are minor, so there are no serious source-text integrity issues. JustARandomSquid (talk) 11:03, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
- 1a: The source doesn't actually say where he was born. Its a reasonable assumption, of course, that he was born in Novi Sad, but that could be "reasonably challenged", I feel. JustARandomSquid (talk) 11:03, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
- 1b: doesn't say what the economy was recovering from, but I don't think it would be reasonable to challenge that it was the great recession. Still though, a source would be nice. JustARandomSquid (talk) 11:03, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
- 37: the source says Vučević signed the agreement. I suggest you rephrase the article to say that, especially considering the article is about him, and not what happened to Novi Sad during his term. JustARandomSquid (talk) 11:03, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
- 48: the phrasing "Novi Sad's database servers" seems vague to me. The source says "serveri gradskih uprava". Maybe rephrase to "The database servers of Novi Sad's city administration" or something along those lines? JustARandomSquid (talk) 11:03, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
- 1g: this is a bit of an issue. I don't see the €2 billion in the article. Am I missing something?
- 63: the source says he announced he tested positive. I don't see why he would lie about this, but I've gone ahead and boldly edited the article to attribute the claim to him. I've also updated "the coronavirus" to "COVID-19" (it seems more encyclopaedic to me), and added an archive link to the N1 source. I've found two dead links from them already, so if you have nothing better to do, consider checking the rest and adding archives. JustARandomSquid (talk) 11:03, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
- 85: doesn't explicitly say the third cabinet, probably unreasonable to challenge, but surely it wouldn't be too difficult to find a source that does say that. JustARandomSquid (talk) 11:03, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
- 93: the bit about the drone spying being illegal seems to have been taken from the headline, which isn't a reliable source, and I don't see it repeated in the body. Again, minor nitpick, but that could be removed from the article without too much damage, I feel.
- 187: the source doesn't explicitly say that was the reason for the discussion. JustARandomSquid (talk) 11:03, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
- 193: I don't explicitly see that he's said to support it. I suggest you modify that to quote him ("he has called lithium mining a 'historical opportunity' for Serbia" or something like that). JustARandomSquid (talk) 11:03, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
- Again, mostly minor nitpicks. Pinging Vacant0, now that I have actionable issues. JustARandomSquid (talk) 11:03, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
- The last criteria that I haven't addressed is whether the article is focused. At times I didn't feel like it was. Sentences like
In April 2016, the National Distribution Dispatch Centre of Elektroprivreda Srbije was opened in Novi Sad
,In December, the Health Centre of Novi Sad obtained nine new vehicles
, or the one from ref 37 above seemed focused more on Novi Sad during his term than on him per se. The thing is, whenever I look at the sources for these statements, they always focus on him (he signed, he gave a speech, he stated...). Would you consider going through and rephrasing as many of these statements as possible to focus on him? JustARandomSquid (talk) 11:09, 2 February 2026 (UTC) - And with that, I've finished with my comments. JustARandomSquid (talk) 11:09, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review. I'll look to address your comments today. Vacant0 (talk • contribs) 13:59, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- I think that I've addressed all of your comments. If I've skipped something, please tell me. I've just requested IABot to archived dead URLs, hopefully it will work this time. Vacant0 (talk • contribs) 17:12, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- Update: For some reason, it does not want to archive references. I'll do it myself then in a couple of days. Vacant0 (talk • contribs) 17:23, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- Nvm, it did. It just took like 30 minutes for it to complete. Vacant0 (talk • contribs) 17:51, 9 February 2026 (UTC)

@Vacant0: Long enough, new enough. QPQ done and Earwig's clean. Surprised you wasn't asked to make the long foreign-language quotes notes, but perhaps @JustARandomSquid: knows a policy I don't. On the hooks, ALT2 requires knowledge of what Novi Sad is to be interesting, ALT0 is something every single elected official does when winning a non-new seat, ALT3 and ALT4 are too negative for a BLP, and (as far as I can tell) Vucevic was considered three times for prime minister rather than two, which rules out ALT1. I must ask for more hooks. Also, @Crisco 1492:, look out for a ping where I'm spending this.--Launchballer 06:07, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
- Honestly, I was just happy to see the Serbian quotes in the first place, I'll be first to admit I frequently overlook MOS:FOREIGNQUOTE. As for hook ideas,
- ALT5: ... that Miloš Vučević (pictured) is the longest-serving mayor of Novi Sad?
- As that's a first/superlative hook, here's a source that discusses the set in some detail. JustARandomSquid (talk) 10:02, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
- Possibly the record for the fastest debunked superlative hook, the source itself contradicts it. Grigorije Janković's term between 1810 and 1822 is longer. Vučević would've broken it, had he served his term to the end, but he ended it prematurely to become Minister of Defence. User:Vacant0 might want to update the article to reflect that. Still though, that angle with three terms might be viable. JustARandomSquid (talk) 10:10, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
- I take, will review in the next 24 hours.--Launchballer 03:57, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
Squid, I'll look for a source for that claim and modify the article ASAP. Here's a couple of blurbs:
- ALT6: ... that during his term as the mayor of Novi Sad, Miloš Vučević (pictured) proposed the demolition of SPC Vojvodina, but backtracked after public backlash?
- ALT7: ... that Miloš Vučević (pictured) is the longest-serving mayor of Novi Sad since the introduction of the multi-party system?
- ALT8: ... that Miloš Vučević (pictured) only served in the National Assembly of Serbia for five days?
- ALT9: ... that after the election of Miloš Vučević (pictured) as the president of the Serbian Progressive Party, one journalist described the change as "cosmetic"?
- ALT10: ... that the cabinet of Miloš Vučević (pictured) was the largest one since the fall of Slobodan Milošević?
Thanks for taking care of this while I was on a break. Cheers, Vacant0 (talk • contribs) 16:33, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
