Inappropriate move to main space

edit

@Theroadislong The move to main space was completely inappropriate. The issues of WP:Original synthesis and WP:COI editing raised in the last two rejections were never fixed. The article still contains many bare urls and is full of puffery. The writer in question removed all negative quotes about her work, and then selectively chose another quote in a way that misrepresented the source. There is also an overuse of primary materials. This should not have been moved until the rather serious problems surrounding WP:NOTPROMO/WP:COI/WP:OR editing are fixed. If this moves again to main space in this current state. I will take this to the Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard.4meter4 (talk) 00:03, 28 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

4meter4 It was entirely appropriate to move this to main space, as reviewers we judge whether it would likely survive an WP:AFD that is all, it has been tagged for issues, if you wish, the next step is to take it to WP:AFD NOT Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard.Thank you. COI tag

edit

Editors who worked on the draft agreed there are enough existing problems with the neutrality of the article because of coi editing that the tag was appropriate to place on the article. See comments at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard.4meter4 (talk) 20:50, 29 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

No such agreement is expressed there.
{{COI}} requires:

Like the other neutrality-related tags, if you place this tag, you should promptly start a discussion on the article's talk page to explain what is non-neutral about the article. If you do not start a discussion, any editor will be justified in removing the tag without warning.

The comments you have made at WP:COIN and here do not constitute such; and the issues you take against the actions of other editors at AfC are not a COI on behalf of them or the article subject. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 20:56, 29 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
If you prefer the tag not be placed, so be it. It isn't worth my time arguing over it.4meter4 (talk) 21:41, 29 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
It's not a matter of my preference, it's a matter of respecting the consensus of the community, as expressed in the quotation I gave above, from the template's documentation. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:48, 29 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Meh. Sometimes strict application of guidelines achieves the opposite of the intent of the guideline. In this context I don't think it follows the spirit of the guideline when viewed in light of the many talk page discussions across user and wikiproject space surrounding coi issues in this article. Per WP:5P5 the tag could be viewed as appropriate in this context. But, as I said, I acquiesce. It's just a tag and its presence or absence is of little importance. It's not worth fighting over.4meter4 (talk) 22:37, 29 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
