  • Researching historical women writers who used pseudonyms requires careful investigation across multiple sources, as many women adopted pen names to avoid gender bias and judgment (e.g., being labeled a bluestocking) and, ultimately, to get published.

Emptying out categories

Hello, Willthacheerleader18,

I hope you realize that it is considered "disruptive editing" to empty categories "out of process". If you would like to see a category renamed, merged or deleted, please make a proposal at CFD so that other editors are aware, especially if you are making large changes through a great number of categories. Do not remove all of the contents of a category so that it can be tagged CSD C1. And please do not "blank" pages, it can be useful for patrolling editors and admins to be able to see the category tree that a single category is part of. But, seriously, no more emptying out categories "Out of process", please start using CFD to nominate any categories you eould like to see renamed, merged or deleted. If you continue to ignore this, you might find your edits reverted. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 21:32, 9 October 2025 (UTC)

Ways to improve Nima Taleghani

Hello, Willthacheerleader18,

Thank you for creating Nima Taleghani.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

The lead needs to be significantly expanded. The subject's name plus 6 words is not enough.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Kudpung}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Why do you object to listing the name of the degree she received from law school?

Because that is already specified in the infobox. -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 03:32, 25 October 2025 (UTC)
An abbreviation for the degree appears in the infobox, but the name of the degree does not.Lawace (talk) 15:57, 25 October 2025 (UTC)
And that is sufficient. -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 23:45, 25 October 2025 (UTC)
I don't believe that is sufficient. Why don't you want the actual name of the degree to appear?Lawace (talk) 00:15, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
Because in the United States, a law degree is synonymous with a Juris Doctor. They are the same thing. The abbreviation for Juris Doctor (JD) is already listed in the infobox and linked there, as is common practice so far as I have seen on my more than a decade of editing here. There is no need to link it in the body of the article. -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 01:15, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
In most instances where JD is listed in the infobox, Juris Doctor is also contained within the article. What is the procedure to mediate our dispute?Lawace (talk) 22:43, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
Start a conversation about this on the article's talk page and ask for other editors to voice their opinions on the matter/take it to a vote. -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 14:06, 27 October 2025 (UTC)

The Ogburn sisters

Good evening, Willthacheerleader18. I just happened to notice that you created these two articles recently, which I thought was pretty cool since they were my cousins. I spent a lot of time in Smithfield growing up; from your userpage it looks like you are very familiar with the area as well. Anyway, happy editing! Cheers, 28bytes (talk) 00:54, 29 October 2025 (UTC)

Hi 28bytes, thank you for leaving this note! What a wonderful connection. I am friends with one of Lu Long Ogburn's grandsons, although I never met her. I am from NC and am pretty familiar with the Smithfield area. I hope you enjoyed reading those articles! If you have any pictures you'd like to add, please do so.. I do not have any that are within copyright. Have a great day! -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 18:37, 29 October 2025 (UTC)

Reversion of edits on Catholic church

You have reverted scores of edits on the text of Catholic church article, without giving a justification. Many of these edits were discussed in the Talk pages and made in response to a review. Please provide justification for each of the changes you made or undo your reversion. Rick Jelliffe (talk) 21:16, 4 November 2025 (UTC)

This conversation is for the talk page on that article, not here, and is already ongoing. Those edits, aside from the replacement of the photo which was agreed upon on that talk page by other editors, have been reverted anyway. -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 21:18, 4 November 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Jewish American slave owners

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Category:Jewish American slave owners requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at []. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Speedy deletion nomination of Lilly Contino

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Lilly Contino requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Spritor (talk) 00:16, 10 November 2025 (UTC)

@Spritor: Seeing as you already opened up an AfD, I have removed your speedy deletion tag. There is no reason to do both when AfD is sufficient. -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 00:25, 10 November 2025 (UTC)

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Lyman A. Cotten when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 00:08, 6 November 2025 (UTC)

Do not create pages that attack, threaten, or disparage their subject or any other entity. Attack pages and files are not tolerated by Wikipedia, and users who create or add such material may be blocked from editing. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 02:07, 7 February 2026 (UTC)

I'm specifically concerned about WP:AVOIDVICTIM. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 02:09, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
The speedy deletion has been declined. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 02:10, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
Not sure that the page "attacks, threatens or disparages" the subject. Notability as an individual may be in question per BLP1E but the page is sympathetic if anything. AusLondonder (talk) 02:14, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
Yup. I didn't think of it as attacking, but I swore I remembered having articles speedied for undue victimization previously. I had declined such nominations, then swear I was told it was a legitimate use. Anyway, I specifically wanted another administrator to look at it, which is why I didn't automatically delete. The nomination has been reverted, and I've nominated for deletion at AfD. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 02:17, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
@Significa liberdade: Excuse me? I did not create an "attack page" nor did I threaten anyone. I also did not contest the speedy deletion. -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 18:27, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
Hi, Willthacheerleader18! As you'll notice in my response to AusLondonder, I did not think the article was an attack page. However, it primarily focuses on the subject as a victim, which is against WP:AVOIDVICTIM. The speedy deletion was quickly reverted, and I brought the article to AfD instead. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 18:32, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
@AusLondonder: Thank you for speaking up for me. The accusation of my making an attack page is ridiculous. -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 18:29, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
No problem, I just saw the template and thought that it was a bit accusatory. Even if people have concerns regarding notability etc it wasn't created as a bad-faith attack page. AusLondonder (talk) 04:45, 8 February 2026 (UTC)

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your edits to Wikipedia. I wanted to follow up about an edit where, Category:Liechtenstein women economistsLiechtenstein women economists was removed from a parent category.

This category is part of a group that falls under WP:EGRS, which covers categories based on ethnicity, gender, religion, sexuality, or disability. These categories are typically set up as non-diffusing. That means when a page is added to a subcategory like this one, it's still meant to be included in the parent category as well.

This is important because removing someone from the parent category can unintentionally change who appears to "belong" there. Over time, that can make the main category look less representative than it actually is, which the EGRS guideline is designed to avoid.

If you're not sure whether a subcategory is non-diffusing, you can often check the category page itself; many include a note or template. You can also read more at WP:EGRS and in the section on the final-rung rule. If you need further help, ask at the Teahouse. Thanks again for contributing, and I hope this helps clarify things! Franbecque's list

Thank you very much for adding these. *Normally* on wikipedia a blog would not be considered an appropriate source, *BUT* she is an expert in the field, so it is just fine. One day I'll have to go back through the wikipedia website and see how many dozen articles we have sourced to her blog.

I do have one request. For both those you are adding and those you have added before, could you use please use the following instead:

<ref>{{cite web |last= Becque|first= Fran|date= 4 February 2026|title= Fraternity and Sorority Members Competing in the 2026 Winter Olympics|url= https://www.franbecque.com/fraternity-and-sorority-members-competing-in-the-2026-winter-olympics/|website= Fraternity History & More|location= |publisher= |access-date= 9 February 2026}}</ref>

When Fran goes on to the next wonderful post, that new one will be at the top of her site. With the addition of the rest of the URL, it will always be able to be reached regardless of how much else she does.

Also, if you'd like to stop by Wikipedia:WikiProject Fraternities and Sororities, we'll be happy to see you there.Naraht (talk) 23:13, 9 February 2026 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of MEEK (singer)

Notice

The article MEEK (singer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Questionably-reliable sources, no real evidence of meeting WP:NMUSIC criteria.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.

If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. AndyTheGrump (talk) 17:39, 12 March 2026 (UTC)

I see you've removed the prod. I'll give it a few days, but if I don't see some better evidence for notability, I'll start an AfD. AndyTheGrump (talk) 17:43, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
As was my expectation, thanks! I prefer AfD over speedy deletion, especially when an article has just been started. I'm still adding to it. -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 18:09, 12 March 2026 (UTC)

Two Wikicurious events in North Carolina this week

There are two Wikicurious events in North Carolina this coming week! These are great opportunities to meet other Wikipedians, help new editors get started, and learn more about subjects you might not be familiar with.

Wikicurious: WNC Women's History Month Edit-a-thon will be a hybrid event held at the Pack Memorial Library in Asheville on Tuesday, March 24, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This event is focused on amplifying the stories and figures of under-represented Appalachian artists, writers, and other creators, particularly women in honor of Women's History Month, as well as people of color, LGBTQ individuals, and other disenfranchised communities. Get the full details and register on the meetup page.

Wikicurious: Country Music's Mythology will be an in-person event held at the historic Love House in downtown Chapel Hill on Wednesday, March 25, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. At the event, you'll have a chance to improve Wikipedia's coverage of emerging and underrepresented country musicians, see an exhibit of photos and fan culture from the Grand Ole Opry, and hear from special guest Rissi Palmer, singer-songwriter and host of the podcast Color Me Country. Get the full details and register on the meetup page.

You received this message because you are on the global message delivery list of the North Carolina Wikipedians, probably because you signed up on our user page or because you attended one of our events. If you would like to remove yourself, please e-mail me or remove your username from our global message delivery list.

Hope to see you at some of these events! -- Gaurav (talk) 08:47, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
