For future reference, whenever you undo vandalism or unconstructive edits, it's always a good idea to leave a warning on the user's talk page so that way they know what they did wrong (although in most cases from what I experience they either just don't edit again or ignore the warning and continue) ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 22:05, 20 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

User warning

edit

Hello and thank you for recently undoing unconstructive edits. In the future, when you undo unconstructive edits, could you please use the appropriate template to warn the user (IP or registered) to stop their behaviour?

There are many different warning templates available to use. Here are some common ones; please see their documentation pages for instructions:

Each time we use these warnings they should be placed under the title "==June 2026==" (updated to the current month and year), on the user's talk page. Beyond those listed above, there are also higher level warnings for continued unconstructive editing (see the template documentation for details); if previous warnings have been given under that title, add the next level warning beneath the others, within that section. Individual cases must be dealt with as seems appropriate. If the user has not been actively unconstructively editing for a few weeks or months, start a new section. It may sometimes be appropriate to cut to the chase and use:

The value of warning is three-fold:

  • Firstly – it may be heeded
  • Secondly – it allows other editors to quickly see if that user has been vandalizing frequently or recently
  • Lastly – administrators require that warnings have been given before they can or will act against persistent vandals

If a vandal is on a spree or has reached a level 4 vandalism warning and is currently active, waste no time in reporting them to Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism.

Thanks again for helping to protect articles on Wikipedia. Happy editing! Dam222 🌋 (talk) 19:18, 24 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

They dont respond... Sadbunny3 (talk) 19:20, 24 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
That's to be expected. Usually when you warn a user they will either see the warning and stop (usually they don't acknowledge the warning) or see the warning and continue anyways. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:23, 24 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
If you want, there's also WP:TWINKLE which allows you to add a warning by just clicking some buttons, although I think that may only be available to autoconfirmed users (can't remember if it is or not), however you may be able to request the "confirmed" right which is the same as autoconfirmed except given manually. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:22, 24 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
I mean... thanks for the advice but I will have to pass. Sadbunny3 (talk) 19:24, 24 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Alright sounds good. However I think it would be a good idea to warn users even if you don't want to use Twinkle. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:25, 24 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, please do. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:25, 24 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

How to revert multiple edits at once

edit

Hi Sadbunny3, for reverting multiple edits at once, please have a look at Help:Reverting. There are multiple methods: You can click "edit" when viewing an old revision and save the page without modification, or you can select multiple edits, view the difference and then click "undo" on the right side of the comparison. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 19:27, 24 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

No, George Harrison did not read the novel Cold Dog Soup on the Beatles' first trip to the United States, nor did he produce the film adaptation.

edit

If you can't figure out that an unsourced anecdote about George Harrison crediting a 1985 novel for the Beatles' success in 1964 and vowing to make it into a film that he had no connection to might be vandalism, even without the context of the editor's other vandalism, you don't have any business reverting someone with half a clue.  Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.50.48.146 (talk) 19:08, 22 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:55, 29 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

The Alibino account is globally locked, but AlMichaels1727, which is the master account, is not, and, regardless, you should not be making unblock requests for at least 6 months.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:59, 20 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

The Almichaels1727 and Lucky accounts were false positives.

edit

@Bbb23 I do not own those 2 accounts. Every account that I owned has been locked. The Alibino account was placed there because Almicheals1727 put a message on the talk page. I was genuinely confused when this happened. Can I use this account for the standard offer? Sadbunny3 (talk) 17:00, 20 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Ok, if you say so. (I have forgotten all accounts used exclusively on meta to beg for the unlock that was never gonna happen. (I was that impulsive))

@Bbb23 I want to know, am I able to do the standard offer in 6 months? Sadbunny3 (talk) 15:23, 23 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Its been 2 weeks and it would be sad if I messed up.

edit

@Bbb23 I have not gotten a confirmation to do a standard offer and it would be very annoying if I made an account in 6 months and realized that you did not confirm on the standard offer. Please tell me if I can get a standard offer. Sadbunny3 (talk) 17:06, 7 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Why you would even suggest making another account is beyond me. Procedurally, this whole thing is a mess, to be honest. However, the best thing I can think of is that you make an unblock request per the standard offer in six months with this account. Remember, just because six months have elapsed doesn't mean you will be unblocked, only that any unblock requests before six months have elapsed will not be considered.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:07, 7 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Bbb23, Oh! That also works as well. (I agree that this is a huge mess). Sadbunny3 (talk) 19:23, 7 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

One more ping, and I will revoke TPA. I answered your question back in February, and all you're doing is making things worse. Some admins believe that the 6-month clock dates from the last edit you've made, including edits to this page, which means you've changed the time from late July to December. I'm not going to comment definitively on whether that will apply here, so don't even ask. The best thing you can do is not to respond to these comments, but you seem to have self-control issues.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:00, 6 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Alibino (one that started this hell)

@EpicOmegy (first, but I lost password shortly after)

@Dualcerb (unused, more about this account later)

@Puyomino (used this account as my main for one week)

@2v5 (used this account as my main for TEN HOURS but made over 200 edits...)

@Lopbunny69 (oddly enough, this account is listed as a Kamen sock, along with unused @toketaa1, but they are mine)

@RainbowBouncyBalls (just go check the revision for the AlMichaels investigation)

@Alibinoisback (unused, dont ask)

@9wo (similar to 2v5, used for some time but blocked after)

Shouldn't you request unblocking via AlMichaels1727 (talk · contribs), your original account?

@|Deepfriedokra , Yeah, about that... basically I never owned AlMichaels1727 (talk · contribs), my first account that got blocked was Alibino (talk · contribs). All accounts in that sockpuppet investigation are mine except AlMichaels1727 and ItzJustLucky (talk · contribs). Also the final account, Lopbunny69 (talk · contribs), was put in two sockpuppet investigations. I did post all accounts I ever used up on this talk page, most of them were me just being impulsive... Sadbunny3 (talk) 17:31, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

So you will use this account and only this account from now on if unblocked? Daniel Case (talk) 07:10, 20 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Daniel Case: Yes I would use this account and only this account if unblocked. Sadbunny3 (talk) 13:31, 20 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Daniel Case: Sorry for the double ping, however I just want to know If I get unblocked, who would be able to unblock me. Would it be Bbb23, the user who blocked this account, Favonian, the admin who first indef blocked me on the Alibino account, Yamla, who revoked TPA on the Alibino account, or maybe even 331dot, who was the first admin to block the Alibino account, although it was only partial and for 31 hours. Sadbunny3 (talk) 13:40, 2 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Technically any of us. But since we generally are advised not to unblock without at least consulting the blocking admin (as long as they're still actively editing), I will put your request on hold and ask Bbb what they think ... I had left this unanswered so that they might take note without being pinged, but it's been long enough that more proactive measures are advised. Daniel Case (talk) 19:10, 2 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Information icon Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. Alexeyevitch(talk) 19:13, 11 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

The possibility of them even stopping has not happened when I added talk page messages, not a single time. Sadbunny3 (talk) 19:55, 11 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hey Sadbunny, it's always a good idea to post the appropriate warnings on user Talk pages after reverting vandalism. It doesn't matter whether they "stop" - that's not really your concern, but some admins do not like to block users unless they've been correctly warned.--Bbb23 (talk) 20:07, 11 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok Sadbunny3 (talk) 13:27, 12 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Russo-Polish War (1654–1667). This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Fanfanboy (talk) 14:31, 22 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Use of ANI

edit

Hi there, I have noticed a significant number of threads created by you at ANI over the past 48 hours. The ANI noticeboard is designed for severe, chronic and unmanageable issues - not straightforward ones. This report should have been sent to WP:AIV, as should this one. Also, writing a topic "Dunno what is happening here but it is mad weird..." is inappropriate for a noticeboard that deals with serious issues.

Additionally to creating these topics that shouldn't have been there, I found your comments at this topic and this topic to not fit the standards expected of a noticeboard that deals with serious issues.

Your contributions to "endorse" blocks in two separate threads additionally added very little value to those discussions, although probably aren't as objectionable as the others.

To echo one of my peers when delivering a similar message a few weeks ago to another editor, ANI is a quite tense place and people do not like to be there. Making reports that aren't suitable is a big deal in an environment like ANI, as is making peanut-gallery comments that don't respect the tone of the debate. I'd ask that you stop making comments at ANI unless they are directly relevant to you, and to stop reporting things there unless they absolutely have to be, until you are more experienced with Wikipedia.

Request reason:

It has been a year, and as I doubt I will be getting a full unblock I just request that the block will be changed to only contain WP:UFAA, WP:ANI, and maybe WP:RFPP. I have seen many articles I have wanted to edit but couldn't. I have also matured greatly since last year. Some of the responses in this talk page I would never type out now. That head smashing response was so childish... I will still be reverting vandalism like I did before but I will be editing more constructively. Toketaa, please give three examples of edits that you would make to mainspace articles if you are unblocked. Newyorkbrad (talk) 18:47, 25 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
Had to click random article a bunch to find something that I would edit, but this article says that it lists only current crossings, but there are some demolished crossings in the list. I would insert "current and former" crossings instead of just "current". Toketaatalk 14:16, 26 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_bridge_failures has an uncited row that just says "bridge". I would remove that row. Toketaatalk 14:25, 26 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
the article mentioned in the reply above uses both "no casualties" and "0 deaths 0 injured" I would only use "0 deaths 0 injured" and replace all instances of "no casualties" with that. (also I don't have an interest in bridges, I just went down a little rabbit hole) Toketaatalk 14:31, 26 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Bbb23, Yamla, and Daniel: Your thoughts, please. Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 15:57, 26 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'd be okay on the basis of WP:ROPE. I think they've matured somewhat since the initial block. I hope I'm mistaken but I would expect they'd end up blocked again within three months. Still, it would be nice, in this case, to be wrong. --Yamla (talk) 16:00, 26 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Newyorkbrad: What do you want to do? Unblock them, unblock them partially based on their unblock request, or something else?--Bbb23 (talk) 16:12, 26 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
Happy for an unblock, the proof of the promised changes will obviously be in the editing. Cheers, Daniel (talk) 19:52, 26 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Newyorkbrad, looks like this one fell off the back of the desk. Are we good to unblock? -- asilvering (talk) 02:59, 22 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Asilvering Yes, good with me. Thanks, Newyorkbrad (talk) 03:37, 22 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
forgot to give a third, but https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interstate_Highway_System#Discontinuities has two paragraphs that state the same information, I would merge them together and remove duplication. Toketaatalk 19:32, 26 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
Toketaa, thank you for your quick response to my question. If you are unblocked, do you agree to stick to editing articles for awhile, and stay away from the noticeboards? If so, do you think it would help you if this were built in to the unblock (that is, you'd be unblocked from certain namespaces only)? Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 22:12, 26 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I'll try to stick away from the noticeboards. Might go on AFD if I see an article that is one uncited sentence. (I saw one of those before). I am just gonna be editing articles and sometimes reverting vandalism but only if the rate of vandalism is high. Toketaatalk 16:19, 27 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
Another mistake, quite a big one, in Balatro, when you reach ante 39, the game doesn't crash, the only thing that happens is that the requirement for the blind gets too big that it becomes "not a number" and you are unable to beat the blind. Toketaatalk 14:00, 3 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

In what way was my edit vandalism?

edit

I've thousands of edits (on my real account). Not sure how my edit could be considered vandalism. 47.22.169.58 (talk) 17:03, 4 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Information icon Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to The moon: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you.HirowoWiki (📝) 14:32, 29 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

@HirowoWiki, I do know, I just didn't know what warning should be given. Was leaning on vandalism but it is a redirect page so I was unsure. Toketaatalk 14:34, 29 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
You have been mistaken at The moon as vandalism and should be leave a warning message when reverting vandalism. –HirowoWiki (📝) 14:36, 29 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:54, 18 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Nailed every part about it. The formatting, the personalities, its such overkill in the best way. Panini! 🥪 20:30, 1 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thank you so much, I had to learn how to do alignment, text color, and background color for this, It was pretty hard to learn how to do 3 things at once :). Toketaatalk 12:27, 2 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Me again. Just noticed that the date of immortality was 6 days from that April 1st. Not only is it cool but there's reason behind the nom too (I know it was in the dialogue but that part didn't click for me). Panini! 🥪 18:49, 6 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Obvious vandals

edit

If they are obvious vandals, try to wait for a block if you can tell they are just going to edit war. Otherwise, it clogs up watchlists and page histories and may actually be the reason they keep coming back. LuniZunie(talk) 14:30, 28 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

I've reported to AIV as a VOA. LuniZunie(talk) 14:30, 28 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
@LuniZunie, Thanks for telling me that information. I'll stop edit warring them. Toketaatalk 14:31, 28 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Warning messages

edit

Thanks for leaving warning messages on the talk pages of people whose edits you revert. A lot of people don't take that extra step, but it's really helpful when trying to decide if it's time for a block. I appreciate the effort. Joyous! Noise! 16:09, 29 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the compliment! I still don't know if I am allowed to report pages to WP:RFPP. I have found two pages that need protection but I don't wanna risk anything. Toketaatalk 15:22, 1 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Joyous! forgot to ping you. Toketaatalk 17:47, 1 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
No need to ping. When I make a comment on someone's talk page, I'm automatically subscribed to it and get alerted to changes. Anyway, I protected Cookiecutter shark for a couple of days, but I'm going to hold off on A since the problems there are pretty slow-moving. Joyous! Noise! 20:57, 1 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Am I allowed to post in WP:RFPP now? This meme recently got an article and with all memes it is getting vandalized very often. Holding off on posting it until you confirm that I am allowed to post. 17:20, 4 May 2026 (UTC) Toketaatalk 17:20, 4 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I just protected it, as it came up on my watchlist AGAIN: I'm tired of looking at its stupid little wooden face. As for whether you can post at RFPP...I wasn't part of the discussion about your restrictions, so I'm not sure. Joyous! Noise! 17:57, 4 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Bad revert at Battulgyn Achitbileg

edit

Hey, Toketaa. This edit is unhelpful. Do not restore the wrong revision as you did at Battulgyn Achitbileg. I just re-added short description before Pyschocat101's globally blocked. Regards, —KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 20:28, 5 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

My bad, sorry about that. Toketaatalk 12:25, 6 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
It's okay. Next time, always check your diffs before reverting. :) —KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 12:27, 6 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

My unofficial guidance to Requests for page protection

edit

I can see you've had some issues with RfPP in the past. I encourage you to keep trying, but follow any guidance you find helpful. Please don't do multiple-topic page requests. Few of these (from any requester) are ideal from the sysop's view.

Here's my guidance: When I approach any RfPP I go straight to page history. If I can see a series of very recent reverts by trusted editors, that's indicative page protection may help. As an admin, I try to apply the least amount of protection which will solve the problem. For example, if it's clear the attack is from multiple accounts acting in a coordinated manner, this is instead a sockpuppetry issue. Report to WP:SPI. Add learning about SPIs to your reading. In such cases let the socks hang themselves together. Don't bother with page protection. We'd prefer to identify and BAN the offender, not merely block them when they pop up.

I rarely choose to intervene unless the page is 1) currently under active attack from multiple accounts, or 2) under long term abuse. Reports of abuse from 12 hours ago is useless because one can't intervene in something that isn't currently happening.

Remember that when pending changes protection is applied, the non-autoconfirmed (or temporary account) bad actor can make all the edits they want but none of them will get published until somebody like you approves (or reverts) them. Don't be in a hurry; the reading public can't even see the disruption. Most minor problems (or only occasional issues) can be handled by pending changes protection.

If (again based on page history) it seems like different temporary (or otherwise new) accounts are currently acting in diverse ways to disrupt, especially en masse, please request semi-protection. If autoconfirmed accounts are doing so, or if the subjects fall under WP:Contentious topics restriction, requesting extended confirmed protection is appropriate.

After looking at page history, I visit page logs (in the upper left corner of the page history). If in the logs I see similar protection recently applied by an admin, I tend to apply a slightly longer protection period than previously. It's quite rare for pages to be indefinitely protected at any level. The previous protection period should be one or two years before we consider indeffing anything. The big exception is anything ARBCOM has determined it needs to enforce CTs. Then it's almost always indef ECP.

I'm providing you feedback because I believe you are making a good faith effort to help the pedia. Making mistakes is entirely the normal state of affairs for any wikipedian. Totally expected. Criticism by others should be (and usually is) well-intended. It's better to tell somebody their shoe is untied BEFORE they trip over it. Don't make the mistake of taking anything personally. Such feedback isn't directed at you; it's directed at your previous behavior. Those receiving feedback have a responsibility to take note and endeavor to improve behavior based on the feedback. I'll trust you to continue to make best efforts, and you should continue to anticipate constructive feedback from others.

Sysops can only help when they're aware. You are part of my network. Don't be shy about communicating. Your eyes are invaluable to the project. No kidding.

If you need help, reach out. BusterD (talk) 18:45, 12 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
