Speedy deletion nomination of John Yarbrough (American football)

edit

Hello, TarheelBornBred,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Zppix and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I have tagged John Yarbrough (American football) for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. You may find our guide for writing quality articles to be extremely informative.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Zppix}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Proposed deletion of Brian Herrien

edit
Notice

The article Brian Herrien has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Meets neither WP:GRIDIRON or WP:COLLATH.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

edit

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into 2010–11 Miami Hurricanes men's basketball team. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 18:24, 30 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your submission at Articles for creation: Patrick Toney (April 2)

edit
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reasons left by Dan arndt were:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines for sports persons and athletes). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified. If you need help with referencing, please see Referencing for beginners and Citing sources.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Fails WP:NGRIDIRON, lacks any independent secondary sources or references.

Ways to improve 2010–11 Miami Hurricanes men's basketball team

edit

Hello, TarheelBornBred,

Thank you for creating 2010–11 Miami Hurricanes men's basketball team.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This article is missing prose, which means it fails notability for sports teams. Team season articles should consist mainly of well-sourced prose, not just statistics and lists of players. Wikipedia is not a stats directory. See WP:NSEASONS for guidance. Failing this notability guide, this article may be redirected to the main team page. An example is LSU Tigers football

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Patrick Graham(Georgia) moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Patrick Graham(Georgia), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Shaun Jolly. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Tavon Rooks

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Tavon Rooks requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tavon Rooks. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Thank you for being WP:Bold and creating the Georgia–Kentucky football rivalry page. I hate that it got AfD'd and was ultimately deleted. I was really pulling for it to be kept. I do think there's positive momentum in the direction of a rivalry and it will meet the threshold soon.

I just wanted to say that there are a ton of more college football rivalry articles requested at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requested_articles/Sports/American_football#Rivalry . (Sorry I don't know how to tag it so I just put the entire URL so you can easily find it). You might take a look there and be bold and create a few more articles! I noticed one for your UNC Tar Heels and there are plenty of requests that have been played about as many times or more than Georgia–Kentucky. Please feel free to continue to be bold and create some more rivalry articles if you feel so inclined! 2603:6010:61F0:8130:900E:7C79:E3CE:7F74 (talk) 22:31, 2 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Mark Gilbert (disambiguation)

Notice

The article Mark Gilbert (disambiguation) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Invalid and unnecessary disambiguation page containing the primary topic and only one other topic.

Brooke Huckaby

Hello, TarheelBornBred. I've seen that you've created multiple articles on different politicians, and I have a suggestion for an article you could create. Brooke Huckaby, a 21-year-old, was elected mayor of Arabi, Georgia, and she is the youngest mayor in Georgia history and the youngest female mayor in United States history. I haven't checked to see if there are enough sources for her to qualify for an article, and Arabi is a fairly small town, but she may potentially qualify for an article. It's just a suggestion. Also, congrats on the potential DYK. BullDawg2021 (talk) 19:09, 7 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the suggestion. I think there might be enough sources for Huckaby, my only concern would be finding a variety of sources for her instead of sources chiefly about her election. Nevertheless I'll definitely try and make an article about her. TarheelBornBred (talk) 1:05, 8 July 2024 (UTC) TarheelBornBred (talk) 01:05, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Help with a project

edit

Hello. I was wondering if you would be interested in assisting me in creating an article for that crazy game between Georgia and Tech last season. I've already started with a draft. I'm currently doing the game summary, but I'm afraid that I may be adding too much excessive detail. If this is something you'd be interested in helping with, I'm thinking of expanding the prose, adding all the stats, and adding a section for the aftermath and historical relevance of the game. Thanks, Go Dawgs, and THWgt Bulldawg (talk) 06:45, 28 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

I would definitely be interested in helping create an article for the game. I’m with my family for Thanksgiving right now and have finals the following week and a half, but after the holidays I’ll be able to contribute intermittently and then when finals conclude I’ll definitely have more time available. So tldr I’d love to and I’ll have more time to help relatively soon. Happy holidays and Go Dawgs! TarheelBornBred (talk) 17:19, 28 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Enjoy your time with family! Another user just published an article for the game. Hopefully it's just a coincidence, but that is very disappointing. Thank you for your interest, though. Bulldawg (talk) 17:24, 28 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Clipping from a UConn team bench

edit

This is my OR, but your photo insertion is clearly incorrectly labeled. The clipping detail is of Amari DeBerry, and not Jana El Alfy. Throughout her career, on the court El Alfy has always worn a single straight part down the middle of her head and pony tail down the back. DeBerry often wears the more complicated weave hairstyle exhibited in the clipping. BusterD (talk) 19:34, 23 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

My mistake, I thought both of their facial structures appeared similar but I see the difference you're talking about. TarheelBornBred (talk) 19:54, 23 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
