RFD closure talk notifications being overwritten by bot
editJust curious, have edits like this been happening to you too ... when you put the old RfD tag on the talk page, just have to be overwritten by this bot? Long story short, I'm thinking of engaging the bot owner or WP:BOTREQ about this since the bot is apparently overwriting any content on talkpages of redirect that target a disambiguation page. (Note: I'm choosing not to mention the bot operator at this time until I see there's more issues with this.) Steel1943 (talk) 23:04, 27 January 2026 (UTC)
- @Steel1943: Nope. I don't recall seeing that bot before, and it hasn't appeared (at least not that I've noticed) on any talk page where I've recently added this tag. See: , , . It does seem odd, though, and I would definitely report it to the bot operator, since it might be some sort of glitch or a malfunction of some kind. CycloneYoris talk! 00:18, 28 January 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah, it looks like the edit I ran across only applies to talk pages of redirects targeting disambiguation pages ... which I don't think there's any overarching consensus for such redirects to not have Old RfD templates on their talk pages... (By the way, if it wasn't clear why I engaged you on this, I noticed you have been replacing talk page redirects with manually-added Old RfD templates when XFDcloser doesn't overwrite the redirects.) Steel1943 (talk) 01:39, 28 January 2026 (UTC)
- @Steel1943: Ugh, yeah, I hate it when that happens! For some reason, the XFDcloser never overwrites the talk page of a redirect when there's already an existing redirect there (and you have to add the tag manually, which is what I always do immediately after I close the discussion). It honestly isn't much of a nuisance, but it becomes very annoying when you close a discussion where multiple redirects have been nominated (or when you close several discussions at the same time). CycloneYoris talk! 04:27, 28 January 2026 (UTC)

Reminder about three-revert rule
editHi CycloneYoris. Please be careful to clearly claim an exemption from WP:3RRNO in the edit summary or on the talk page if you are going to exceed three reverts in 24 hours (or just let other editors step in once you've made several reverts). Also, please bear in mind that endless reverting back-and-forth as on List of years can itself be disruptive. Rather than flooding the edit history, it would have sufficed to wait for an administrator to act on your noticeboard report. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 01:09, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
- I think you could make a case for a longer duration semi-protection on WP:RFPP, by the way. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 01:14, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hi Daniel Quinlan. Yeah, sorry about that. I usually always wait for an admin or another reviewer to step in, and I should've ceased reverting them after filing my report. Thank you for the heads-up, though, and I'll certainly consider taking this to RFPP. Cheers, CycloneYoris talk! 01:43, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
A special award for you!
edit| The Golden Wiki Award | ||
| Hello, CycloneYoris,Upon further review of your contributions towards the fight against vandalism on English Wikipedia, I feel compelled to present you with this special award of The Golden Wiki. You have consistently been one of the most active pending changes reviewers in 2025 and entering 2026. In the last year (13 months), you have been the number one reviewer six times, within the top five reviewers four times, and within the top ten reviewers three times! Please know that, while often overlooked, your achievements are recognized at least by this user and that you serve as a selfless inspiration to all Wikipedians. Sincerely, MWFwiki (talk) 01:29, 5 February 2026 (UTC) |
- @MWFwiki: Thank you for appreciating my work! I'm truly grateful for your kind words and for this award. You really made my day today. Thank you! :) CycloneYoris talk! 01:46, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
Pending changes reviewers
editYou just accepted three pending changes at Franz Kafka. (The third was mine, and I assume that it was not, as my edits usually are, automatically accepted, because it was an edit to one of the pending edits.) I'm curious how one becomes a pending changes reviewer, not that I necessarily want to be one. Does one become a pending change reviewer with respect to particular subjects that interest him or her? Are pending changes reviewers alerted when a pending change is awaiting review? I assume that changes are pending when made by rookie editors. Maurice Magnus (talk) 19:23, 8 February 2026 (UTC)
- @Maurice Magnus: This is a user right that you can request for yourself at Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Pending changes reviewer. I've been a reviewer since 2019, and I usually check the log at Special:PendingChanges, where all unreviewed edits appear. CycloneYoris talk! 21:03, 8 February 2026 (UTC)
- @CycloneYoris: Thank you for the info. I am surprised to see that there are currently no pages with pending changes. Maurice Magnus (talk) 21:29, 8 February 2026 (UTC)
- @Maurice Magnus: Yes, it seems that many reviewers are patrolling new changes as we speak. CycloneYoris talk! 21:43, 8 February 2026 (UTC)

Content Removal/Editing of Article
editHi CycloneYoris! I am extremely new to editing (as in I started today) and apologize for any errors or breaches in etiquette I may make, but I have a question about the correction made to my edit of Catholic Church sexual abuse cases by country. The final sentence of the section on the Archdiocese of Wroclaw discusses the death of Cardinal Henryk Gulbinowicz, but does not actually say that he died. My edit added that fact and shortened the end of the sentence. I will make sure to include more detailed edit summaries going forward, but I think my edit was correct. How should I proceed?
Thanks for your patience! Schemingeunuch (talk) 02:40, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, Schemingeunuch. Thank you for your thoughtful explanation. I'll go ahead and restore your edit. Please make sure to always provide a detailed edit summary for your future edits. Cheers, CycloneYoris talk! 05:17, 24 February 2026 (UTC)

I'm curious as to why you relisted Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/EML (mathematical operator). There were two bold !votes to delete, a comment saying "most likely non-notable" and "rest in peace", and another comment saying "I agree that it's too soon". The only !vote to keep was an assertion with no policy or guideline basis. That looks like a pretty solid consensus in favor of deletion to me. Article content for Mareco Broadcasting Network
editGood evening, @CycloneYoris! I am trying to edit to adding or changed the content in an article, Mareco Broadcasting Network (the former owner of Crossover), but I didn't provide a reliable source that's why you have been reverted. My edit added that MBNI is currently operates three radio stations under the Brigada News FM network in Metro Manila, Cebu and Davao in which serves as a partial affiliate of General Santos-based Brigada Mass Media Corporation that was took over the MBNI's operations and frequencies in June/July 2023 after the "permanent" shutdown of Q Radio (operated by Horizon of the Sun Communications) at the end of June 2023, just like Southern Broadcasting Network that operates XFM on several stations and Nation Broadcasting Corporation which also operates Philippine Collective Media Corporation's FM Radio Philippines on five radio stations in Metro Manila, Baguio, Baguio, General Santos and Davao since 2024. How could I resubmit my changes and/or added the information will be correct?
Thank you very much for your patience, @CycloneYoris! WikiPinas2010 (talk) 10:59, 8 May 2026 (UTC)

May backlog drive
An article-only backlog drive is currently underway. We are hoping to make a big dent in the backlog. You can read more about it or join at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Backlog drives/May 2026.
PageTriage
An attempt was made to get the New Pages Feed to sort by date marked as reviewed instead of date created. However we had to revert it due to bugs. We may try again in the future. You can subscribe to the Phabricator ticket if you're interested in following along.
Reminders:
- You can access live chat with patrollers on the New Page Patrol Discord.
