hello, no other country has this bloated militarybox on their wikipedia articles regarding their involvement in World War I, it's quite ugly and not suited for this article, but rather the separate articles accounting from the romanian sub campaigns, how do I proceed with removing the militarybox? Hello. There are several statements in the background section that are unsourced, and the entire aftermath section is unsourced. Find reliable sources before resubmission. Let's talk

edit

About this , a lot of the information there is from the Romanian wikipedia and all of it is sourced. The lead was not removed it was added upon.  Preceding unsigned comment added by Swordmaster1 (talkcontribs) 01:57, 14 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Having had a chance to look deeper into the edits, the edits you made to the main body paragraphs are an improvement overall, but the edits made to the lead I don't think justify the complexity and speculation regarding the founding of Moldavia. The lead as of now is a thorough summary of different theories and their sections which are largely agreed upon by historians. The lead you made wasn't added upon but rather it was stripped off of some of these sections, which in turn makes it look more superficial and a little harder to understand as a whole. What I'm going to do is undo my edit so your edits to the main body of the article remain, but I'll paste the original lead in. If you want to add more detail to the lead that's perfectly fine. I hope this is a fair compromise. SpandauSteaua (talk) 15:17, 14 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Good articles

edit

Hello, I didn't mind replying to your message, I'm glad to help. A good article (WP:GA) is a class given to Wikipedia articles that have passed a process to consider them of particular high quality. It is the second highest class, the first being featured article (WP:FA) status. Writing FAs is hard, GAs is not that difficult for narrow topics (for "History of Romania" for example, that's no walk in the park).

Here you have the criteria . In my opinion the most important aspect is completion, the article should include all relevant aspects of the topic and given the amount of importance they deserve. But the other aspects, such as using appropriate reliable sources, is also important.

If you think an article should be a GA or wish to write one with such status, you have to nominate it at WP:GAN, sorting the article by topic. Then a volunteer user, best adviced someone from outside the topic area to ensure impartiality, will come and review the article. You'll be told the issues the user believes the article should get fixed before getting GA status. These people are usually experienced editors with lots of reviews to their name, so they know what to advise. I think I've done six or something like that in my case. It is worth noting there is a big backlog, the most I had to wait before an article was reviewed was, I think, 4 months. 1-2 months is normal.

Be aware that an article can be delisted through the WP:GAR process if it is found not to fullfill GA requirements anymore. If this happens, it will be years after the nomination. I don't advise bothering with recent topics because they are ever-changing articles, with new sources and information coming out over time. I see that you have few edits for now. My advice is to eventually try if you wish to write a GA, but to first get some practice in writing some content, maybe a couple of short articles first, see if editors come and raise any objections or if it appears you have a good understanding on editing (I can't tell that, I've seen you before but not too often). Regards and good luck if you wish to try, Super Ψ Dro 23:51, 14 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the advice! I was wondering how to make the article I made Battle of Ghindǎoani into a good article, I think it matches the criteria well, the only weak point is that I could only find one Hungarian source detailing the battle. I'll nominate it anyway and if it gets rejected that's that. Regardless, thanks for the response! SpandauSteaua (talk) 00:41, 15 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
I see, it is not badly-written, however right away I can tell you no article will ever pass with paragraphs or sentences without citations at the end, so you should fix that before. If the article gets rejected, you can just nominate it again after working on it a bit more without any issue, there is no limit. Good luck! Super Ψ Dro 16:41, 15 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
man, I give up, I tried to improve it but I don't have the wikipedia knowledge of the rules to put my sources in there properly or how to handle disputes to my article. I've learnt over the past few days, Wikipedia can eat you up. I was always taught at school that Ghindaoani and Baia were Romanian victories, but after all these sources OrionNimrod gave me I'm starting to doubt a lot I believed in. Clearly I'm not cut out for this, I think I'll take an indefinite break, I just wanted to say thanks for taking the time out of your life to give me some advice, even If I wasn't able to implement it.
