Your submission at Articles for creation: Nuh Farah Mahad (December 5)

edit
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Ibjaja055 was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Your username

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Somali community of Minnesota, and I noticed that your username, "Somali-wiki-community", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 16:21, 10 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much for the clarification and for pointing this out.
The reason I originally chose the username “Somali-wiki-community” was simply to reflect that most of my editing focus is on topics related to Somali history, culture, and communities. It was not intended to represent any organization, group, website, or collective, and the account has always been used by me as a single individual.
However, I fully understand the username policy and your concerns. I agree with your advice and I am willing to comply. I would like to switch to the personal username “Abdiassan”, and I will submit a request through Special:GlobalRenameRequest
I also confirm that I am editing as an individual contributor, not on behalf of any organization, and I will continue to contribute in a neutral and unbiased manner in line with Wikipedia’s policies.
Thank you again for the guidance. @Gurkubondinn Somali-wiki-community (talk) 16:27, 10 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Welcome!

edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

It appears you may have used a large language model (LLM), such as ChatGPT, in your edits. While LLMs are powerful, machine-generated text often contains serious flaws. They may introduce bias, errors, plagiarism, libel, or even hoaxes. Specifically asking an LLM to "write a Wikipedia article" can sometimes cause the output to be outright fabrication, complete with fictitious references. Editors must verify all LLM-generated text before using it in an article. Completely LLM-generated articles may be quickly deleted. If you are unsure about your wording, an alternative is to suggest it on the talk page for another volunteer to look at it. If you are creating a new article, you may use the Articles for Creation process to get feedback on your work.

As you get started editing Wikipedia, you may find the pages below to be helpful:

If you still have questions, there is the Teahouse, or you can click here to ask a question on your talk page, and someone will be along to answer it shortly. In your messages, please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and a timestamp. Speedy deletion nomination of Somali News Network

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Somali News Network requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ACROM12 [TALK] 23:34, 10 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the feedback. As a suggestion, instead of deleting the article outright, it may be more constructive to move it to Draft space. This would allow time to verify missing information and add the independent reliable sources that are required. The subject may still meet notability once appropriate secondary references are gathered. I support improving and reviewing it further in Draft rather than deletion. Blocked as a sockpuppet

edit
Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively as a sockpuppet of User:Abdiaziizho per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Abdiaziizho. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:

I believe there has been a misunderstanding. I am a new user with only seven days of editing experience, and I have been trying to learn how Wikipedia works and create drafts in good faith. I have no connection whatsoever to the user mentioned in the block notice, nor to any other account. My intention has only been to draft and improve articles, but the block and the comments left to me have been discouraging, especially since I am simply a beginner trying to contribute positively. I kindly request that this block be reviewed, as I have not engaged in any abusive behavior, sockpuppetry, or policy violations. Thank you for taking the time to reconsider my situation. Abdiassan (talk) 03:43, 11 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

There's been a moderate amount of WP:LOUTSOCK going on here (specifically, temporary accounts). Behaviourally, I find it hard to believe this account is completely unrelated to Abdiaziizho. Yamla (talk) 19:46, 11 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

How did you become interested in Somali News Network? -- asilvering (talk) 05:11, 11 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
I became interested in Somali News Network to improve the coverage and reliability of Somali media on Wikipedia. My objective is to ensure accurate representation of Somali news organizations supported by verifiable, trustworthy sources. This interest is part of a larger initiative where I am compiling information on other Somali media outlets like Goobjoog Media Group, Astaan Group, Bile Media Group and others, aiming to facilitate access to reliable references about Somali journalism for readers and editors. Are you using an LLM/AI to communicate? -- asilvering (talk) 05:24, 11 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
No, I am not using an LLM/AI to communicate. I created the content myself. I am a Somali speaker, so I first prepare all of my reports and explanations in Somali. After that, I use basic translation tools to help convert my Somali wording into clearer English for grammar and clarity. After preparing the English version, I sometimes ask another person to review it for any exaggerated or unclear language before posting. All ideas and all actual writing come from me. Abdiassan (talk) 05:59, 11 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Hm. Well, I was sort of hoping you'd say it was LLM-generated, because then I'd have an explanation for I am a new user with only seven days of editing experience, and I have been trying to learn how Wikipedia works and create drafts in good faith. I have no connection whatsoever to the user mentioned in the block notice, nor to any other account. But now I don't. -- asilvering (talk) 06:09, 11 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Is this one I use LLM-generated? I used "QuillBot" and bought a year's subscription; there's nothing else I can deny. The reason I bought it was to give me a translator and then correct the grammar. Abdiassan (talk) 06:25, 11 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yes, QuillBot uses AI and LLM models. Interestingly, from reading QuillBot's home page, it purports to use AI to create text that doesn't look or sound like it was written by an AI. David10244 (talk) 07:14, 12 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
My user @Abdiassan
Thank you for the clarification. If QuillBot uses AI or LLM models, then I understand the concern. I only used it as a translator, grammar and English-clarity checker after writing my own text in Somali. I did not use it to generate articles or content, because that would have produced exaggerated or artificial writing, which I have avoided.
I am still learning how to defend my edits properly, and I appreciate your guidance. As you advised, I have already submitted an email appeal. I kindly ask that I not be treated as someone trying to evade rules, I am a new user whose only goal is to improve Somali-related articles on Wikipedia. If my account remains locked, I cannot create a new one without violating policy, so I hope for understanding in resolving this situation.
Thank you again for your patience and help. ~2025-39449-73 (talk) 07:36, 12 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
asilvering: They in fact told me on Talk:Somali community of Minnesota § Infobox image that they were using an LLM to communicate, though claimed to only use it to translate. The page has been speedily deleted since then. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 22:32, 12 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for reviewing my block appeal

edit

Thank you for reviewing my block appeal. I would like to clarify that I am not the user “Abdiaziizho” and I have no connection to that account. I had never seen it before it was mentioned here, and I have never used any account other than my own current username. My contributions are made in good faith to improve Wikipedia articles related to Somali topics.

For clarity on my language use: I compose my content in Somali, and I may use tools such as QuillBot to assist with English translation and grammar after the core text is written. I do not rely on AI or language models to generate entire articles, and I always verify facts and sources before publishing. My intent is to learn and to contribute neutrally in line with Wikipedia policies.

I respectfully request that the block be reconsidered. @Izno Abdiassan (talk) 08:14, 11 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
