Admin Election withdrawal
It takes a lot of courage to go through a tough process. Elections and RfA get some nasty things brought up from the past, but you are a great editor. I'm certain if you wanted to be an admin much further in the future you could. Conyo14 (talk) 20:34, 19 July 2025 (UTC)
- +1, thank you for even having the courage to stand for election. EF5 20:51, 19 July 2025 (UTC)
- I came here to say the same thing. It takes guts to put yourself up for this kind of process, and although it didn't work out this time, it's still something to be proud of. BugGhost 🦗👻 21:52, 19 July 2025 (UTC)
- I can't say "don't be discouraged" because, well, obviously this is discouraging. But I do hope you manage to take this in stride. "Not yet" doesn't mean "not ever". Thanks for running. -- asilvering (talk) 21:53, 19 July 2025 (UTC)
- Speaking as somebody who felt he had to withdraw from his first run for admin, I am glad you put yourself forward and by withdrawing you've shown more courage than many might under the same circumstances. Good luck to you, and if I can ever be helpful, feel invited to call on me. BusterD (talk) 23:00, 22 July 2025 (UTC)
A kitten for you!

Don't get too discouraged. I echo what others have said on your page. Who knows, you might change your mind later. (And I'm sorry to hear that folks in your life are telling you to grow up rather than embracing your neurodiversity. )

- +1 - sorry to hear you’ve decided to withdraw. For what it’s worth, I’m also autistic, and was diagnosed at a very young age. I think for those of us who are neurodivergent in any way, when things don’t work out for us when we’ve worked so hard to get to a certain point, it can be especially discouraging. My advice to you would be to not let it hold you back from improving yourself in the ways that you can (without trying to hide your neurodivergence - you’ll just burn yourself out that way) and hopefully one day run again. I mean, I don’t even have a single GA myself - you’re doing far better than me in that regard! Patient Zerotalk 16:15, 20 July 2025 (UTC)
- I'll add: I promise there are lots of autistic admins. Admins need to be mature and to be able to take a punch, but they don't need to "grow out of" autism. By the way, those people irl telling you that you "can't grow up" are just dicks. You're 18. No one is "grown up" by the age of 18. You're doing great if you manage it before you're 30. -- asilvering (talk) 23:22, 22 July 2025 (UTC)
- Waving my hand over here. You are definitely not alone. BusterD (talk) 23:34, 22 July 2025 (UTC)

The file File:Antony Hewish.jpeg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
free photos exist, no need for fair use one (see commons:Category:Antony Hewish
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I have sent you a note about a page you started
Hi Sahaib. Thank you for your work on Thomas Kerr (Scottish politician). Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
Thank you for creating this biography. While Kerr has not yet managed to be elected, his defection was politically important; reaches WP:GNG given the coverage of him, over some time, in reliable sources.
To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Klbrain}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)
Dab page talk pages
Please don't create talk pages for disambiguation pages unless there is actual talk content: see Template:WikiProject Disambiguation. It doesn't do anything useful: if a page is a dab page it is obviously of interest to the Dab wikiproject and no template is needed to say so. It is actually unhelpful: if an editor is working on a dab page and they see that the talk page exists they will waste time going to look at it in case there is discussion relevant to what they were doing. So please don't create any more pages like Talk:Church of St Mary and St Leonard. Thanks. PamD 18:40, 17 August 2025 (UTC)

Full name parameters
Please stop removing the 'full name' parameter from {{Infobox football biography}}, it is a valid parameter even if the full name is the same as the article name. GiantSnowman 14:16, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman: Template:Infobox person states "| birth_name = only use if different from name". Sahaib (talk) 14:24, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- OK cool - that is not the same infobox. GiantSnowman 14:25, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman: Template:Infobox football biography states "{{{birth_name}}} If different from name and full_name.", thanks. Sahaib (talk) 14:27, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- Yep - and that is a different parameter. We are talking about 'full name'. GiantSnowman 14:28, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman: Template:Infobox football biography states "All parameters are optional.". Sahaib (talk) 14:29, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
- Yes - but is is well established that that paramour is populated. If you don't believe me, then ask at WT:FOOTBALL. GiantSnowman 14:31, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
