Hello, I'm The Banner. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Aquinas College have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse. Thanks. The Banner talk 09:52, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
Please do not attack other editors, as you did at Aquinas College. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. The Banner talk 09:53, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
- And who the fuck are you? Rovingrobert (talk) 13:15, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
- Somebody who objects against personal attacks from somebody breaking proper links. I have now been repairing your edits twice. There still is no need to remove a proper red link to a college. (But at least your unlinking is less unconstructive than the previous edit linking to the city.) The Banner talk 14:59, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
- @The Banner: Oh, you're that guy. Now kindly explain what you consider constructive about removing my use of the word 'tertiary'. Rovingrobert (talk) 15:18, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
- I don't know what you are talking about. But I am talking about this edit and this edit. To be true, the strange removal was not from your hand. The Banner talk 15:34, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
- I had written "tertiary" residential college — I guess that was part of the reverted material. On the other hand, I seem to have completely misread the situation. I had no right to react the way I did; please accept my apologies. Rovingrobert (talk) 15:44, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hmmmm.... But the sermon in church yesterday was about forgiving. So I forgive you your sins but please sin no more. The Banner talk 17:03, 13 September 2020 (UTC) At least towards me.
- I can agree to that! Rovingrobert (talk) 02:04, 14 September 2020 (UTC)

Gilchrist
editHi. Can you tell me some more about Adam Gilchrist's role in this TV series please? The article you're editing is a Featured Article, so we need to be really sensitive about what we add and whether or not it's actually notable. A slightly more reliable source would help, but the one you cited seems to suggest it's a guest appearance or something, not exactly a starring role. But I could be entirely wrong. So, what can you tell me? Ta. Blue Square Thing (talk) 11:58, 9 May 2021 (UTC)
Alternate players in tennis events
editPlease stop adding "alternate" players to tennis infoboxes and templates. If you want to change longstanding consensus I invite you to bring it to Tennis Project talk to discuss. I don't agree that alternates deserve an infobox entry or a template change, but perhaps most will think as you do if you discuss it. Fyunck(click) (talk) 10:50, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Fyunck(click): Not consensus, it’s used in many players’ stats (I won’t tell you which, lest you revert them) – but yes, would be good to start the conversation. Rovingrobert (talk) 23:46, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Walker Hayes when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance.

Introduction to contentious topics
editYou have recently edited a page related to post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Hello. Your recent edits to Scammell (surname), Kenny, Kennedy (surname), John McDonald, John Macdonald and Mead (surname) appear to have added a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 12:45, 21 May 2026 (UTC)

It was clearly explained to you, above, that you should not add entries to lists, unless they already have their own article on the English Wikipedia, but, as you did at Adelaide University, you have continued doing so. Please stop. - Arjayay (talk) 20:21, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
