Re-run of Helpful Pixie Bot for unreferenced articles dating

edit

Hi Rich! I hope you're doing well. I am making my way through the unreferenced articles and noticed that in the 19,000+ articles tagged as December 2009, a good number were not actually created in December 2009. We are all pleased to have gotten through December 2006 so we can say the backlog is (only) 15 years old, but one of the December 2009 articles, as an example, dates back to January 2005. I don't know much about how the bot works but I was wondering if it would be possible to run it again to break down this super-category into more manageable chunks, even if it means re-opening some finished categories. Is this something you would be interested in doing, or think is feasible? I'm trying to get some momentum for WP:URA and could see this as a proverbial kick in the pants to shake things up. Thanks! Yes, it would need a re-write, but it would be possible. All the best: Rich Farmbrough 08:49, 15 June 2022 (UTC).Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:The Ink Spots albums

edit

A tag has been placed on Category:The Ink Spots albums indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! Hi User:Liz. I've asked you before not to leave me these messages in respect of albums categories. However in this case, the question of what happened to the Ink Spots album articles should be raised. As a pioneering and very important American musical group, quite apart from breaking ground in the industry for African Americans, their work is highly notable, and I am surprised that their albums articles have been deleted. Or more accurately I am not surprised, we seem to prefer deleting articles to finding sources to build them out. All the best: Rich Farmbrough 08:11, 21 June 2022 (UTC).Reply

You are wrong in two important respects. Firstly you did notify me, and secondly I am not banned. All the best: Rich Farmbrough 08:15, 21 June 2022 (UTC).Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Quiche Lorraine (disambiguation)

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Quiche Lorraine (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Shhhnotsoloud, since this is now deleted I can't check the history, but I imagine it disambiguated between Quiche Lorraine and Quiche Lorraine (song). All the best: Rich Farmbrough 08:05, 21 June 2022 (UTC).Reply
It was a redirect to Quiche Lorraine, which was a dab with three entries but has since been converted into an article. This deletion is just housekeeping. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 08:35, 21 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. The correct housekeeping would have been to move the disambiguation page located at the primary title to Quiche Lorraine (disambiguation), before splitting the quiche article. All the best: Rich Farmbrough 08:47, 21 June 2022 (UTC).Reply
Meh, with only three titles to distinguish and a clear primary topic, hatnotes work fine now that the main title is an article. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 08:56, 21 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
