Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Benneth Nwankwo, from its old location at User:Olugold/sandbox. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. -Liancetalk/contribs 13:51, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
Women in Red
editHi there, Olugold, and welcome to Women in Red. It's good to have another librarian as a member of the project. I see you have some experience in editing but have not yet created any biographies of women. When you decide to do so, you might find it useful to look through our Ten Simple Rules. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 09:44, 29 September 2021 (UTC)

Blocked users
edit| This request for help from administrators has been answered. If you need more help or have additional questions, please reapply the {{admin help}} template, or contact the responding user(s) directly on their own user talk page. |
Hi! An Edit-a-thon event was organised under the IWUG, we properly guided new editors to register on Meta but after a while some users were blocked for no reason. These users couldn't participate during the event because they could not log into the dashboard These users are Grace Nwosu, Onkovictor, Omalichababy, Bhec Khey, Ndubueze Jenny, estheribeh97. Can anything be done? Thank you. Olugold (talk) 05:12, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
- Hello, Olugold. None of the usernames that you have listed exists on English Wikipedia apart from Omalichababy, and that one isn't directly blocked. I don't know why creating a meta account hasn't automatically resulted in an English Wikipedia account being created too. I'll leave this help request open in case some administrator who knows more about this kind of thing can help. You may also be able to get help by asking at meta.
- As for Omalichababy, which does exist on en Wikipedia, maybe there's an IP block or an autoblock causing problems, though it seems unlikely if you can edit from the same IP address. Can you post a copy of the exact message that the users get, telling them that they can't edit? JBW (talk) 22:34, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you JBW. I'll find out on Meta as you suggested because this kind of block reoccurs each we have an event.
- Below are some of the messages
- "Account creation error.
- You are currently unable to edit Wikipedia. Editing from your IP address (129.205.124.97) has been blocked (disabled) on all Wikimedia wikis until 05:02, 15 March 2022 by Tks4Fishe (meta.wikimedia.org) for the following reason: Open proxy: Visit the help page if you are affected This block began on 04:02, 16 February 2022 Your current IP address is 129.205.124.97. Please include all..."
- "You are currently unable to edit Wikipedia due to a block affecting this IP address. This does not affect your ability to read Wikipedia pages. Most people who see this message have done nothing wrong. Some kinds of blocks restrict editing from specific service providers or..." Olugold (talk) 10:48, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
- JBW I see that one of the users Onkovictor has an active userpage. Thank you! Olugold (talk) 10:54, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
- That's a user page on meta, which is automatically displayed on Wikipedia if there isn't a separate user page on Wikipedia.
- If the block applies to all Wikimedia wikis then it certainly needs to be dealt with on meta.
- Since this help request has now been open for over 32 hours and nobody else has commented, it seems unlikely that anyone will, so I'm closing the request. JBW (talk) 13:39, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
- One more thought. It seems obvious that you must be in Africa. I don't know much about this, but I believe that many African ISPs connect users through shared IP addresses, which are essentially a kind of proxies, and Wikimedia projects often block them as open proxies. I hope you can find someone on meta who knows more about that kind of issue. JBW (talk) 13:46, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for replying swiftly Olugold (talk) 15:04, 21 February 2022 (UTC)

Event coordinator granted
edit
After reviewing your request for the "eventcoordinator" permission, I have enabled the flag on your account. Keep in mind these things:
- The event coordinator right removes the limit on the maximum number of new accounts that can be created in a 24-hour period.
- The event coordinator right allows you to temporarily add the "confirmed" permission to newly created accounts. You should not grant this for more than 10 days.
- The event coordinator right is not a status symbol. If it remains unused, it is likely to be removed. Abuse of the event coordinator right will result in its removal by an administrator.
- Please note, if you were previously a member of the "account creator" group, your flag may have been converted to this new group.
If you no longer require the right, let me know, or ask any other administrator. Drop a note on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of the event coordinator right. Happy editing! Femke (talk) 16:15, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you so much @Femke: I will definitely put this right into good use and will always ask for help when the need arises. Olugold (talk) 17:22, 23 August 2022 (UTC)

edit| Women in Red 8th Anniversary | |
| In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Your tip has been scheduled!
editCongratulations.
And thank you for helping the Wikipedia community by creating a new tip for Wikipedia's tip of the day feature.
Wow, I had no idea that the newcomer home page even existed.
Your tip is scheduled to go live on February 23rd this year, and every year. It will automatically appear on Wikipedia's main Help Page, on the Community Portal, and everywhere else users have placed the totd templates (usually on their user page or user talk page).
To see the whole schedule of tips, which we call the "yearless year tip collection", it's on the Tip of the day project page
And, if you get any more bright ideas for tips. Please...
Write them all!
Thank you.
Sincerely, — The Transhumanist 19:53, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you so much. I'm glad the tip helped and will go live finally. As a newbie, mentorship helped me a great deal. Olugold (talk) 13:58, 18 February 2025 (UTC)
Out of curiosity...
editWhat are your favorite subject areas? — The Transhumanist 20:24, 23 February 2025 (UTC)
- Gender gap, climate change, environmental health, language sustainability, advocacy/outreach, and librarianship. Olugold (talk) 07:59, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
- Quite eclectic. Nice. I'm blown away that we don't have an outline on climate change, because that subject is huge and of critical importance. Out of all those subjects, only one has an outline, and even that isn't a perfect match:
- Outlines map out a subject's coverage on Wikipedia, and provide a profile on the subject itself (by presenting its overall structure, usually on a single page).
- It's fascinating to see how well Wikipedia's navigation systems support an individual's interests. Besides outlines, there are also indexes, glossaries, navigation sidebars, navigation footers, lists, categories, and portals. While climate change doesn't have an outline, it does have an index, glossary, navigation footer, a category tree, a portal, and several lists.
- Were you aware that climate change is one of the 3 main existential risks tracked by the members of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, who maintain the Doomsday Clock? (The other 2 are nuclear war and artificial intelligence).
- As climate change is a defining challenge of modern times, and Wikipedia has become one of the most widely available general knowledge sources on the planet, that puts Wikipedia editors on the front lines of the climate change problem, in a position to educate the world's population about this critical subject.
- I'm highly impressed that you picked climate change and environmental health as among your favorites.
- Regards, — The Transhumanist 03:12, 29 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for this comprehensive information. I never knew there are outlines on Wikipedia. Climate change and environmental health are critical subjects that affects everyone, it will be a good thing if everyone does one thing or the other to mitigate the effect.-- Olugold (talk) 12:13, 31 March 2025 (UTC)

Update: New Event-Organizer Tools for You on English Wikipedia!
editHello,
I hope you're doing well! As an event coordinator on English Wikipedia, I’m happy to share some news with you. You now have the event-organizer right! This gives you access to the CampaignEvents extension, a powerful set of tools to help you organize and promote events and WikiProjects more easily. With the CampaignEvents extension, you can:
- Manage event registration directly on English Wikipedia.
- Use the Invitation List tool to find potential participants for your events/WikiProjects
- Receive automatic promotion of your events via the Collaboration List
Learn more on mw:Help:Extension:CampaignEvents
Now that I have your attention, I’d also like to share some updates to the extension:
- The Collaboration List can now be transcluded, meaning you can easily embed it on other wiki pages to share event details with more people by adding {{Special:AllEvents}}. Learn more.
- Admins can now determine which namespaces are permitted for Event Registration on English Wikipedia, via Special:CommunityConfiguration. Right now, the Event namespace is permitted by default for Event Registration. However, other namespaces (such as Wikipedia, WikiProject, etc) can now be added as permitted namespaces by admins too. This can help other types of organized activities, such as WikiProjects, use Event Registration. For details, please visit: Permitted_namespaces
If you need help using these new tools, I’m here to support you. Feel free to reach out for guidance. You can also find some useful video guides on Commons.

ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message
editHello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:54, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

Firewood in Nigeria
editI was editing the article you created and saw that many references used didn't support the content as it was vague or out of context. Also the last section reads as "Outline-like conclusions about challenges and future prospects" from WP:AISIGNS. The section names were very long which is usually found in AI generated articles. Also see Talk:Firewood_in_Nigeria#AI_generated_tag
Please make sure that the article doesn't have any AI generated content as its not allowed here WP:NOLLM and only reliable sources are used. WP:RS Sddarealone (talk) 12:04, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
