DYK for I Forgot That You Existed

edit

On 6 January 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article I Forgot That You Existed, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the music of Camila Cabello inspired Taylor Swift to work on the song "I Forgot That You Existed" with the producers Louis Bell and Frank Dukes? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/I Forgot That You Existed. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, I Forgot That You Existed), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Recommending you to nominate GNX (album) for GA status

edit

I looked through the article GNX (album) today and I can see it looks well-done to be a GA-status article. Considering that you're in the top five of authorship (guessing due to authorship being broken to me right now) and the most contributive one who nominates articles for GA/FA consideration, I want to recommend you the opportunity to nominate GNX (album) for status. - RTSthestardust (talk) 05:45, 7 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Demolition Lovers

edit

Hi there, I hope you're having a good day. I want to thank you again for reviewing "The Foundations of Decay" at FAC. And going off of the heels of that, I've started looking into what other MCR songs could possibly work at FAC, and I've started experimenting with "Demolition Lovers", which you reviewed at GAN. I'm toying around with in a userspace draft, although I've already published an updated version of the article so what's in that draft at this exact moment is identical to mainspace.

I don't expect a full review or anything for that draft, especially since you mention being busy above. But if you do have any feedback about it, or words about if you think the song could work at FAC at all, that would be appreciated, especially since you reviewed it at GAN. My main concern is definitely if it'd work at FAC at all; anything else I could get from peer review or other means. I think out of the songs from Bullets, it probably has the highest chance. But I don't want to be over confident, I have a rough history with that.

So, if you have any feedback, that'd be great. But you don't have to if you're too busy. λ NegativeMP1 03:02, 3 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi, many congratulations on the promotion of "The Foundations of Decay"! I do think that the updated version of "Demolition Lovers" could pass an FAC, it looks in pretty good shape to me. Let me know if you nominate it at PR or FAC, and I'll do my best to review it. I actually enjoyed reading both articles a lot :-) Medxvo (talk) 20:52, 3 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Will do. I think I'm going to wait for a little bit before nominating anything since I don't want to jump into things, and I'm also just exploring what all articles have potential. When the time does come for Demolition Lovers I'll probably do a peer review first. I'll let you know λ NegativeMP1 23:04, 3 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Went ahead and started a peer review for it. Gonna wait a while before an actual FAC for obvious reasons though. λ NegativeMP1 22:12, 4 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Awesome, thanks for letting me know. I'll take a look as soon as I get a chance. Medxvo (talk) 22:58, 4 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
@NegativeMP1: I had the peer review page on my watchlist and just noticed that it has been archived due to inactivity. That's a shame... I had some comments ready but did not get the chance to finish my review. I do think that the article is ready for FAC btw, and I'm happy to finish the review whenever you decide to nominate it. Medxvo (talk) 19:12, 12 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
This is how I found out the review got archived lol. I don't know when I'll nominate it, but it's definitely next on the FAC backburner for me. Probably some time after I complete the Black Parade topic (which is two articles away from completion) so I can devote my full time to it and also offer other reviews in exchange. λ NegativeMP1 20:14, 12 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thank you today for Mean (song), "about a self-written track by Taylor Swift from her album Speak Now (2010). Although inspired by a particular critical review, the track addresses all of Swift's detractors who questioned her vocal ability in 2009 and 2010. Treacherous Audio File

edit

Hi, I was just wondering if this audio file was from Treacherous (2012) or Treacherous (Taylor's Version) (2021). I was just asking because I noticed the file said it was from Red (2012) but I am pretty sure the audio is from the Taylor's Version.

Thanks DavidL87 (talk) 01:42, 23 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thank you for this. I was pretty sure that I had downloaded the 2012 version, and the file's cover art and title both identify it as the original Red recording. However, after listening to it more carefully, I think you may be right that the audio is actually from the 2021 version. I am not sure how that happened and why the metadata and the audio do not match. I have downloaded a different version that I am fairly certain is from the 2012 recording. Thanks again for catching this. Medxvo (talk) 10:53, 23 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for taking a look! I am not trying to be a pain and if I knew how to upload a file I would...
I am pretty sure this is still the 2021 version! The way she says "I I I" is noticeably different in the 2012 version. Let me know your thoughts, I've listened to two clips more times than I'd care to admit lol. DavidL87 (talk) 21:31, 23 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Just to check, are you sure you listened to the newly uploaded version? When I click the play button on the file page, it still plays the old version for me. For some reason, Wikipedia does not always update the displayed/played file immediately after a new version is uploaded, and it can take a few hours or even days. You should be able to listen to the new version directly by going to the "File history" table and clicking on the "10:49, 23 May 2026" entry under the "Date/Time" header. Could you check that version and let me know whether it still sounds like the 2021 version to you? Medxvo (talk) 21:40, 23 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Yeah I went to the table with the two different files in the file history and listened to the one uploaded 10:49, 23 May 2026 (on the top)
The two that are uploaded in the table seem identical to me, if you play them back to back next to each other. DavidL87 (talk) 00:34, 24 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Did you access the new version by clicking on "10:49, 23 May 2026" under the "Date/Time" header, or did you play it using the audio thumbnail? I ask because the audio for the new version under "Thumbnail" still plays the old version for me. Clicking on the date itself should download the newly uploaded file to your device, and you can listen to it directly.
The two files sound completely different to me (in the newly uploaded version, the way she sings "I, I, I" is noticeably softer). Medxvo (talk) 06:37, 24 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I took a listen again this morning and I agree with you now, I guess you were right and it took a second to update (I swear I was listening to the updated one)
Thanks again! DavidL87 (talk) 14:46, 24 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Toy Story 5 premiere

edit

Good evening Medxvo, I just wanted to send you a quick message following our edits to the article Toy Story 5 regarding the premiere. You said: "it was just a red-carpet launch event where the film was not showcased". But how do you know that the film wasn't shown at the red-carpet launch, since multiple sources (apparently incorrectly according to you) state that it was the 'premiere'. Like BBC, People.com, ABC News and Entertainment Weekly. A premiere, in my opinion, normally indicates that the film was screened for the first time. Did the sources misinterpret this then (just like me, apparently, haha)? I am not sending you this message because I doubt you, but because I want to understand. Kind regards RuedNL2 (talk) 22:22, 29 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for the message. I avoided calling it a premiere because Disney itself did not appear to describe it that way. Its own materials called it a launch event / red-carpet launch event (1, 2, 3), and THR, which attended the event, similarly described it as a launch event (here). Neither Disney nor THR mentioned a premiere. I also could not find anything from Disney or other sources confirming that the full film was shown there. My guess is that some outlets used "premiere" loosely because the event had the usual red-carpet elements. But with Disney/D23 referring to the June 9 premiere as the "world premiere" (here), I think the safer wording is to call the May 28 event a red-carpet launch event rather than an actual premiere. Let me know what you think. Medxvo (talk) 23:20, 29 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the clarification. In this case, it is indeed smarter to stick to Disney's wording, as you already did. I think one source labeled it as a 'premiere' and other media ran with that. Especially since D23 indicates that June 9 is the world premiere. Thanks again, now I understand the correction. RuedNL2 (talk) 00:27, 30 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Review for Designer Junkie

edit

Hello, I'm sorry if this comes out as selfish, but if possible, and completely up to you, could you review this studio album, titled Designer Junkie by Sk8star, I placed it as a GA nominee but nobody has checked it out, and I was wondering if you could be the one to check it out. Gdshordy (talk) 22:17, 13 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello. That's not selfish at all, I appreciate you reaching out. My time is quite limited at the moment, so I can't make any promises, but I'll keep it in mind and may take a look if it remains unreviewed. Best of luck with the article! Medxvo (talk) 05:25, 14 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the response, and thank you for trying despite having limited time, means a lot!! Gdshordy (talk) 05:33, 14 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
