edit

On 12 March 2026, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Colección de Lenguas Indígenas, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Colección de Lenguas Indígenas includes the only written records of three languages that have since died out? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Colección de Lenguas Indígenas. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Colección de Lenguas Indígenas), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to nominate it.

Of the four topics I helped to bring to the main page, I'm most proud of a woman's work, so made it my story. As it happens, last year's story OTD was about the woman. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:27, 16 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Rollback

edit

I did an edit in UK political parties article, following the general policy of Wikipedia: " if an article appears biased, edit its wording to make it more neutral, or add balancing material that corrects the bias". You promptly rolled it back. Thereby you amplify the common view that Wikipedia is heavily left wing biased and strongly policed by left wing activists. I suggest you rollback the rollback and have a decent un-biased markings as edited. Wideseen (talk) 12:26, 31 March 2026 (UTC) Labelling Reform as "far right" is not serious, it's a mainstram party maybe becoming the largest UK party carrying the PM. The "far right" predicate is only valid seen from an extreme far left viewpoint.Reply

For transparency, discussion about improvements to the List of political parties in the United Kingdom needs to take place on Talk:List of political parties in the United Kingdom, not here and definitely not in private email. I don't know what "a decent un-biased markings" means. If you dispute how Wikipedia describes Reform UK, then you need to make that argument on Talk:Reform UK, and you need to use verifiable facts. Your own personal feelings, however strongly held, do not constitute a reasoned argument. MartinPoulter (talk) 20:49, 2 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the help

edit

Hello MartinPoulter. I wanted to thank you for reading the Lawrence Weston Wind Turbine article, which I primarily wrote, and editing it to improve the overall quality and cohesiveness. I keep trying to improve my writing skills on Wikipedia but it is clear that I still have a lot to work on as some grammatical errors still make their way through the cracks, to which I apologise. If it isn't too much trouble, can I ask for some advice to help me improve my writing in the future. All the best, CaptainGalaxy 15:36, 17 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Captain Galaxy. Amazing work on that article! I learned a lot and it's of interest because I live not too far from the wind turbine. The only things I've found wrong with it are grammatical errors which are easy to fix. You've done the difficult work and now pedants like me can tweak smaller details. My advice is to check that everything punctuated as a sentence actually is a sentence and to watch out for the same thing being stated multiple times, e.g. "the council approved the project... deciding it was worth pursuing" (paraphrase of your text) doesn't really say more than "the council approved the project". I've found these exercises by another veteran Wikipedian incredibly useful in cutting down my overly wordy style. Best wishes, MartinPoulter (talk) 10:46, 18 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
