Proposed deletion of Tom Binet

edit
Notice

The article Tom Binet has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. @KingOliver7: Hello. You've recently made the article Health ministers of Nauru. The article makes claims with absolutely no citations. This is very bad practice. If you are basing the information in the article on sources, you should start to cite those sources in the article. I can help you learn to cite if you don't know how. If you don't have sources to back up your claims, you should remove them, or request the article be deleted. RoundSquare (talk) 00:20, 4 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

This is a bit of a stretch, given the job role. But if notability is to be presumed on the basis of "cabinet" level participation via the FIG ExCo then this still needs a direct source, and at the moment there isn't one. External links do not count for notability. Even though there may be a claim under WP:NPOLITICIAN for this, even with sourcing I would anticipate a risk of future deletion, whereas using multiple reliable secondary sources would mitigate against that.

Introduction to contentious topics

edit

You have recently edited a page related to living or recently deceased subjects of biographical content on Wikipedia articles, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

About Draft:Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Nauru)

edit

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to change the title of Draft:Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Nauru) by cutting its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Nauru). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Nick Le Cornu moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Nick Le Cornu. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it has no sources, it needs more sources to establish notability and The article needs to make a stronger case for notability backed up by appropriate reliable and verifiable sources about Le Cornu.. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
