Rage Games website
Hi! Do you know/see what the old website was for Rage Games? I've checked Newspapers.com and here but I'm not seeing it.
The reason I ask because Rage is listed as a developer for AYSO Soccer '97 and I want to to see their website if they have more info on the game. Timur9008 (talk) 09:56, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- Should be rage.co.uk, although by this point they'd been renamed Rage Software. IceWelder [✉] 10:20, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- Is it possible they had a website from 1995-1998? Condidering they existed since 1992. Timur9008 (talk) 12:30, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- I can't find any evidence for an earlier website. I'll have to assume they didn't have any until 1998. IceWelder [✉] 12:59, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks! Timur9008 (talk) 14:53, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

Hey, I've always appreciated your sense of writing. Would you be able to chime in at the Kim Kitsuragi FA? It wouldn't matter if you were thoroughly aware of the character, and may even benefit from a more outside reader's opinion. Not to be too QPQ about it, but happy to return the favor next time you have something up for review. Shooterwalker (talk) 21:47, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hey @Shooterwalker, I can take a look, although only either tomorrow or during the weekend. Please ping me if I forget. If you want to QPQ, my Rockstar North FAC is currently open for business. IceWelder [✉] 17:57, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
- I'll try to get a good look at the Rockstar North article early next week. Thanks for trying to find time. Shooterwalker (talk) 20:07, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
- Just wanted to check back in here. It's been a busy month and I'm climbing out of my backlog. Most of the heavy work on my FA is done and I should be able to give Rockstar North a second pass in the coming days. Shooterwalker (talk) 17:13, 24 February 2025 (UTC)

Screenshot question
Hi! :) I've uploaded a screenshot for the gameplay section of Mario Teaches Typing. I think I did everything correctly? I don't really upload gameplay screenshots and the last one I did was 5 or 6 years ago. Timur9008 (talk) 16:05, 7 February 2025 (UTC)
- Looks fine to me. I personally try to avoid the bare-bones {{Non-free use rationale 2}} when pre-filled alternatives like {{Non-free use rationale video game screenshot}} exist, but it's not invalid either. IceWelder [✉] 19:16, 7 February 2025 (UTC)
Infobox video game CSS
Regarding Special:Diff/1274803986, the change was initially made as a result of this discussion in 2021 (Template_talk:Infobox video game/Archive 15#Minor aesthetic changes), and was lost in the conversion to a styles.css sheet in 2022. It has no visible function on desktop, but on mobile it ensures that the size of the title is larger than other text in the box, in line with virtually all other infoboxes. Should I still start a discussion? — Goszei (talk) 21:01, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- I checked again and it appears this is now the standard font size (at least in Vector 2022)? If the change doesn't make any difference, we should probably keep it out in case it ever changes again in the main styles. IceWelder [✉] 21:05, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- 125% is indeed the standard for infobox titles in Vector (and has been for as long as I remember), but on mobile the default skin used is actually Minerva. In Minerva, the title is no larger than the infobox text (see , for instance). Other infoboxes, like for films and books, use "font-size: 125%;" in their respective title styles for the purpose of fixing this display. — Goszei (talk) 21:11, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hmm, yes I can see the difference, but for comparison I immediately checked Nintendo and found that at least that template doesn't use that scaling either. It's weird that this is so inconsistent. Has this ever been discussed at a more central forum? IceWelder [✉] 21:33, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- Infobox company once had the fix, but it was actually removed by you in Special:Diff/1145022640! There has not been a more centralized discussion about this, as far as I know. — Goszei (talk) 21:36, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- Ha, touché! You can see I had the same idea back then. Guess I'm reverting both edits for now, although perhaps this should be discussed properly somehwere sometime and perhaps taken into Minerva completely. IceWelder [✉] 21:41, 9 February 2025 (UTC)

A Simple Question
A recent edit I created in relation to the page for Mojang Studios was reverted for a claim of "Unreliable Source". However, Iit seems that the most up-to-date and reliable source upon the internet currently within the span of 3 years is LeadIQ, and yet you say it "Unsanctioned." Others are more outdated or do not specify date, and good user experiences, ratings, and a myriad of methods such as web-scraping and checked external corrections, even from the companies itself specify LeadIQ is the most reliable source for this case. My corrections of value, then would not be questioned. What is your reasoning? TheUnit 72 (talk) 15:51, 17 February 2025 (UTC)
- I can't say for sure how LeadIQ gathers its data, but it looks like mostly web scraping and some estimations. This is not reliable by nature, and in this case especially, the site claims Mojang to have 1118 employees, including 109 from multiple continents the company has no offices in. Most other countries don't line up either. I doubt any company recommends LeadIQ for information that they themselves did not publish. How would the site even acquire unpublished information like that on virtually every notable entity?
- The most recent source is from 2021 and reports a number in the present tense, so it is assumed that the number is of that time. (And indeed it is from a 2021 tweet the article cited previously.) That numbers are out-of-date by a few years is not great, but it's not uncommon either if they aren't reported regularly, as is the case here. IceWelder [✉] 16:12, 17 February 2025 (UTC)

s&box name capitalization
It appears that the s&box Wikipedia article is consistently filled with misinformation and any attempt I or the developers make to change it is immediately reverted. I'm not that experienced in editing Wikipedia but after reading the rules on capitalization I see no reason that s&box should be capitalized. "only words and phrases that are consistently capitalized in a substantial majority of independent, reliable sources are capitalized in Wikipedia." s&box is only ever depicted with a lower case s on the official website (sbox.game) and a majority of articles referring to it. I would love to know the reasoning behind it being capitalized aside from it being a name brand. DrakeFruit (talk) 21:41, 20 March 2025 (UTC)
- For one, the developers should not be editing here, nor should there be attempts to rally people externally to engage in discussions. MOS:TMRULES is an ancient guideline that is upheld in virtually all relevant cases. Id Software (and Id Tech by extension) do not follow it for reasons not known to me, and I have advocated for correcting this in the past. Nonetheless, something existing somewhere is never a valid argument, rather you'd need to state why S&box would not subscribe to the guideline. The official website is not "a substantial majority of independent". I have opened a more central discussion at WT:VG#id Software and MOS:TMRULES, please continue the discussion there. Assistance with Publishing a New Wikipedia Article
Dear Wikipedia Community,
I recently created a new article about the Electronic Somali Sports Federation, but I am unsure whether it has been published or if it requires further review. I would appreciate any guidance on how to ensure it meets Wikipedia’s standards and becomes publicly visible.

- Your newest draft, which I could find on your userpage, has the same problems as two years ago. There are currently two citations, which are effectively primary as they are bodies the ESSF claims to be a part of, and there is no significant coverage anywhere elsewhere. According to your draft, you are the "General Secretary"? In that case, per our conflict of interest rules, you should not be creating the article yourself in the first place. Have you considered contacting Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Somalia for help? Not using AI-generated messages would also help. IceWelder [✉] 09:26, 29 March 2025 (UTC)

DICE games of 2001
For DICE_(company) - Does Shrek (video game) not count given that while it was made by DICE Canada, formerly Sandbox Studios, it was made and released after their merger with DICE, and the Shrek game page links to DICE? See boxart - https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/box/0/0/3/13003_back.jpg
Alternative question, why is Shrek banned whereas Pryzm: Chapter One — The Dark Unicorn is allowed under 2002 even though it was also made by DICE Canada? See boxart - https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/box/4/8/7/13487_back.jpg
Either the games released in 2001 need to be verified to ensure that they say Digital Illusions rather than Sandbox and be reinstated or all non DICE Sweden games have to be removed for consistency. Thank you. TheFreeOnlineEncyclopaedia (talk) 06:11, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, DICE Canada was a separate studio, so saying that DICE developed those games solely by way of owning the studio is inaccurate. I didn't check other entries on that list, but I agree that other DICE Canada games (that DICE CE didn't co-develop) should also go. IceWelder [✉] 08:59, 26 April 2025 (UTC)

Hello. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Grand Theft Auto VI. Please be aware that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reverts on a single page within a 24 hour period. Rather than reverting edits, please consider using the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. The dispute resolution processes may also help. Excessive reverting may result in the loss of editing privileges. Seasider53 (talk) 00:22, 3 May 2025 (UTC)

The article Blind Squirrel Games has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:CORPDEPTH with insufficient secondary sources. Largely sourced to interviews and trivial announcements.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 07:47, 11 July 2025 (UTC)
Question
Hi! I found this (3DO's 1995 annual report)
Do you know what this bit means?
As of June 1995, at least 250,000 units of GEX by Crystal Dynamics have been manufactured; several other titles, including FIFA International Soccer, Road Rash, and Super Street Fighter II Turbo topped 150,000 units.
I'm assuming this is units sold? (the later half). Timur9008 (talk) 13:46, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
- It should probably also refer to "units manufactured", which is an odd statistic. Perhaps they equate it to units sold-in, i.e. to stores instead of customers? IceWelder [✉] 17:03, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah the wording is weird. Timur9008 (talk) 06:38, 29 July 2025 (UTC)

The Coalition primary logo (XGS)
Hello IceWelder, the logo currently shown in the article is an official variant, but it is not the primary logo most consistently used by The Coalition in their official branding.
The studio’s main identity mark is the circular ring with “THE COALITION” beneath it that you can see in the short animation n the main page of the official website.

source doubt
hey friend, how to make mojang piracy text better?
and i the sources are not good? Trollface 2006ALT (talk) 01:45, 18 August 2025 (UTC)
- I believe there are 3 problems:
- The first case was not a legal dispute. Persson apparently sent "an email", then the server was taken down (voluntarily?), then they played Quake III. It's a cool story but not really relevant to the studio.
- The second case is handled entirely by Microsoft, so also doesn't belong into Mojang's article.
- Of the sources, IGN and TechTudo seem fine, but Olhar Digital looks like a blog with no name or policy attached. It should not be trated as a reliable source by default and vetted at WP:VG/RS first.
- I think it fits the Minecraft article better. Consider working with the editors there on finding a wording that can be included. Article talk pages usually work better in those cases. IceWelder [✉] 08:26, 18 August 2025 (UTC)

Halo Studios’ art director
Hello IceWelder,
I understand your concern about including Chris Matthews in the key_people field, and I respect the point that not every art director would typically qualify as “key management.” That said, I’d like to make the case for reconsidering this specific instance, because Matthews’ role as studio art director at Halo Studios is both unusually prominent and reliably sourced:
• Official coverage: Xbox Wire identifies Matthews as the Studio Art Director in an article about the Halo Studios rebrand from October 2024. The article prominently features him in the accompanying announcement video, where the new creative direction is discussed and is clearly credited as the driving force behind "Project Foundry."
• Independent sources: GeekWire and Pure Xbox also identify him in the same role. This shows coverage across both official and independent outlets.
• Leadership function: Industry definitions (e.g., Game Developer, Sony Bend job postings) describe a studio art director as setting and maintaining the creative vision across the entire studio, hiring/mentoring leads, and defining pipelines. This goes beyond a project-level credit — it’s a studio-wide leadership role and according to the video presenting
And
• Precedent: Other studio infoboxes include art directors (e.g., Yoji Shinkawa at Kojima Productions), provided the role is reliably sourced and clearly central to the studio’s output.
Given the visibility of his role in the Halo Studios rebrand, I think infobox inclusion is justified. Thanks for considering. Chocococooo (talk) 20:54, 17 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Chocococooo, please forgive my absence for I have been busy the past few days. My original revert mostly hinged on the source used: Insider Gaming is pretty unreliable and just apepars high up in search results due to SEO. I don't really have a strong opinion here, but I do like consistency. If we list the art director, should we not also list any other studio-wide field directors, such as the creative director or the technical director? Not sure if Kojima Productions is the best, even ignoring WP:OSE, becuse Shinkawa is independently notable and it makes sense to feature blue-linkable key persons prominently. If you feel strongly about this issue, feel free to restore the mention with a reliable source; no AI-generated talk page message required! IceWelder [✉] 17:56, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your response.
- To answer your question, In my humble opinion, it depends on the studio's profile. If it's an art-focused studio, like Compulsion Games, you would typically see the creative director and art director mentioned. On the other hand, if the studio is known for its technical expertise, such as The Coalition, the technical director is more likely to be highlighted. In the case of a studio with a prominent figure like Bethesda Game Studios (BGS) or Naughty Dog, you might see someone like Todd Howard or Neil Druckmann listed no matter what position they hold… Chocococooo (talk) 19:33, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
Sales figures for Burnout: Championship Drag Racing/Hot Rod Championship Drag Racing
Hi! According to this preview for HRA Drag Racing (per Sega Dojo, from 2000) Burnout/Hot Rod Championship Drag Racing sold over 300,000 copies.
Can this be included in the Burnout article? I'm not sure what the author is citing (could be a press release or some other article). And Sega Dojo has not been disscused as a source before.
At the end of the preview it says "Pete Hines, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Bethesda, told Segadojo". (I guess its possible the info is from him?) So idk. Timur9008 (talk) 09:41, 29 September 2025 (UTC)
- It reads like it's taken from a press release, yeah, but I think you can use the source regardless, since it looks like it's a sub-site of IGN. IceWelder [✉] 16:29, 29 September 2025 (UTC)

Certain typos in source titles are permissible to fix
Please note that per WP:PMC, "titles of referenced sources should not be corrected for spelling, but minor typographic adjustments (like changing curly quotes to straight) may be made silently
". A missing space after a comma in a title is a paradigmatic example of such a minor typographic adjustment, made not to correct the error of the original publisher, but so that Wikipedia does not look incompetent in its own use of punctuation. BD2412 T 21:49, 21 October 2025 (UTC)
- The guideline states that such fixes may be applied, but I see no particular need to do that in this situation. It will be clear to most, if not all, readers that citation titles are quotes, with or without errors. Furthermore, "minor typographic adjustments" are not well-defined in that guideline; if quote styles are the prelevant example, it would occur to me as though only technical-level fixes are supposed to be made here. Perhaps this is a discussion for a wider forum, but I lack the time at this moment to hold one. IceWelder [✉] 17:20, 23 October 2025 (UTC)

- https://archive.org/details/NewTekniques_Volume_2_No._04_1998-08_Advanstar_Communications_US/page/n19/mode/2u
Do you see anything else? And if what I found is enough for a page Timur9008 (talk) 09:49, 8 December 2025 (UTC)
- The only other relevant mention I could find on a whim is here. There a few other á la "developed by Human Code" across the Internet Archive, but not much else. Though I'll admit I don't have as much time to spare for research projects like this anymore, full-time employment and such. As to whether it's enough for an article: Probably, at least given the number of citations at hand. Perhaps create a draft, exhaust your sources, then ask yourself whether the result is something you would like to find as a reader on Wikipedia. If not, it's not ready to be published. - User:Mika1h What do you think? Timur9008 (talk) 16:23, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
- Seems like a notable company to me. Articles by Austin Chronicle, Austin American-Statesman, New Tekniques are enough for notability. --Mika1h (talk) 17:12, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
- @IceWelder can you add the logo? :) Timur9008 (talk) 01:13, 30 December 2025 (UTC)

Article Proposal: GameLair (Moroccan Digital Media Company)
Hi IceWelder,
I hope you are having a great holiday season.
I am writing to seek your guidance regarding a potential article for a digital media entity, **GameLair**.
- Who I am & COI Declaration:**
I am **Mohammed Filali**, the founder of GameLair. Therefore, I have a Conflict of Interest (COI) and I am strictly avoiding direct editing of the main namespace.
- Transparency / Previous Mistake:**
Before proceeding, I want to be open about a "rookie mistake" I made when I first joined Wikipedia. I unintentionally created an account named "GameLair", which was rightfully blocked for violating the username policy. I fully accept that decision, and I am here now with my personal account to follow the correct procedures and respect the community guidelines.
- Context:**
I initially reached out to User:Masem, but given the busy time of year and their workload, I have formally withdrawn that request to avoid adding to their backlog. I am now reaching out to you given your activity in this area.
- Notability Verification:**
The platform has achieved significant metrics and independent coverage. Here are the primary verification links:
- Institutional & Market Recognition:
- Tracxn Profile (Verified startup profile, Top Competitor).
- Crunchbase Profile (Verifies market traction & institutional status).
- TheOrg (Corporate structure transparency).
- Media & Editorial Footprint:
- Muck Rack (Official editorial indexing).
- Startup Ecosystem & Social Proof:
- Wellfound & F6S.
- Product Hunt & Trustpilot.
- LinkedIn & YouTube.
- Wikimedia Integration:
- Wikidata Item (Q137554454) (Structured data already established).
- Proposed Article Content:**
To save your valuable time, I have prepared a neutral, fact-based text below. It is stripped of any promotional language and ready for review.

History
GameLair was founded on 22 October 2025 by Mohammed Filali. The company operates as a digital publisher focusing on the video game industry.
In late 2025, the company was noted for its market indicators within the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region. - Next Steps:**
I have done my best to prepare this as a "mainspace-ready" stub to streamline the process. I am standing by to create this as a **Draft** for your review, unless you advise otherwise or feel it is suitable to be moved directly.
Best regards, Mohamed0612 (talk) 19:05, 28 December 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Mohamed0612, my talk page is likely not the best place for your draft -- ideally, it should be in your userspace (User:Mohamed0612/sandbox) or draftspace (Draft:GameLair). You may also review WP:DRAFT more generally. As for your draft, you presently cite four sources, but none of them is reliable, with Muck Rack and Tracxn being unsupervised automated databases, while Crunchbase and Wikidata are user-generated. There should be more sources from reliable, secondary sources that demonstrate the topic's notability (see WP:N); typically, these are articles in mainstream online media, newspapers, magazines, books, and so on. There is specific help for video game sources at WP:VG/S. Sources don't need to be in English, as long as the medium behind it is reputable. Outside of sourcing, I need to note that, as the manager of the company you are writing about, it is highly advised that you do not edit the article/draft yourself, as conflicts of interests are extremely likely to occur (see WP:COI). If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. IceWelder [✉] 19:52, 28 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you, IceWelder, for your detailed and constructive feedback.
- I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to review the proposal and for pointing me toward the right procedures and sourcing guidelines. I completely understand the distinction between database entries and independent editorial coverage.
- Following your advice, I will:
- 1. Move the draft to my Sandbox to keep your talk page organized.
- 2. Focus on securing secondary, reputable media sources (including non-English ones as you suggested) to establish notability.
- 3. Strictly follow the COI guidelines and only propose changes via the proper channels.
- I will reach out again once the draft is updated with the required independent coverage. Thank you once again for your guidance.
