First of all the term 'nonce' means "a person who commits a crime involving sex, especially sex with a child." which he did do over the course of 50 years.
Second of all, Jimmy Saville died in 2012. He is not alive anymore (thank God) GarethBaloney (talk) 12:48, 26 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your submission at Articles for creation: Gary Formato (October 11)

edit
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by KylieTastic was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

Proposed deletion of Qingen Xu

edit
Notice

The article Qingen Xu has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This is a BLP article about a very minimally notable person. It is unacceptably poorly sourced. The only part that even begins to suggest notability is the claim that he is banned from China but that is only sourced to his own website. The rest of the sourcing is bad too.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Proposed deletion of Mikke Van Hool

edit
Notice

The article Mikke Van Hool has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not meet WP:GNG--coverage is limited to database entries and photographs, no secondary RS appear to be available. I found a mere-mention in an F1 memoir , but that's not enough coverage for a biography.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. signed, Rosguill talk 15:01, 22 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics

edit

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on any page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

To edit in the Israeli-Palestinian topic area on Wikipedia accounts must be at least thirty days old and have at least 500 edits. This includes editing talk pages, with the sole exception being for simple and specific edit requests, which should be in the form of "change x to y for reason z", complying with EDITXY. ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:00, 18 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Howdy. This is so minor that I don't want to revert again, but I disagree with your edit here. [[Wikilink]]s is a shortcut syntax for [[Wikilink|Wikilinks]], and is in my opinion superior to creating the page Wikilinks and then redirecting it to Wikilink. Hope that helps. Thanks. –Novem Linguae (talk) 23:47, 24 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

I'm going to be completely honest, I didn't know. It just looked a bit wrong in source editing, although as you said it's a very minor issue. GarethBaloney (talk) 15:28, 25 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
