Maintenance templates

edit

Hi there. For reference, please don't change the dates inside maintenance templates unless you are making a change that resolves the issue in the template. For instance you've changed the dates in Notability templates on a couple of articles now to read September 2020. Changing these dates means it looks like it's only just been tagged, instead of has been sitting untagged for over 6 months which would mean a different set of actions may happen. Thanks. Canterbury Tail talk 15:12, 23 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Got it! I’ll make sure to keep that in mind. ExcellentWheatFarmer (talk) 15:17, 23 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Meanwhile, if you have more reviews from Dragon or other sources, there are plenty that need to be added here and there. :) Lots, in fact! BOZ (talk) 15:44, 23 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Your submission at Articles for creation: Guildbook: Haunters (September 24)

edit
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Dan arndt was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Fails the requirements of WP:NBOOK

RPG articles

edit

It can be tough as a new editor figuring things out. I say, if you want to work on RPG articles there are plenty of already existing articles which could use your help. If you have access to Dragon, that is great, there are many articles here which were reviewed in that magazine which could use that review added. If you have access to Arcane that is cool too - I have already added reviews to everything up through issue #9, so everything after that still needs to be gone through. I have already gone through Space Gamer and Ares and I am most of the way through White Dwarf, but if you also have access to other RPG magazines like Different Worlds, Shadis, White Wolf Magazine, Challenge, Pyramid, and others - well, hey, I will get to those eventually as well, but feel free to beat me to them. :) If you need pointers on what game was reviewed in which magazine, you can check out the listings on RPGnet and RPGgeek which are more comprehensive than not. Anywhere you feel you can contribute, you are welcome to join in! BOZ (talk) 23:57, 25 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Or, if you want to dig in but are not sure where to start, I would be happy to give you suggestions. :) BOZ (talk) 01:18, 11 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Julian Reichelt moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Julian Reichelt, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Banat Socialist Party, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Romanian Social Democratic Party. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Julian Reichelt (February 27)

edit
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Olaf Kosinsky was:
This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies.
The comment the reviewer left was:
This is a very selective translation of the German article.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.

Please do not add sidebar templates to article without checking out how they affect the article's layout. When there's no room for the sidebar to fit, use navboxes instead. Thanks. Beyond My Ken (talk) 05:53, 16 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

I moved a couple of them, but it's not my job to see that a sidebar fits in the article, that's your job. If there's no room in the article to the Mussolini sidebar, don't force it in, use the Mussolini navbox. Beyond My Ken (talk) 06:05, 16 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Also, check whether there’s already a navbox. You added it to Death of Benito Mussolini which had the Mussolini navbox already. DeCausa (talk) 06:28, 16 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Oops, I am so sorry that you had to go and fix my cock-ups like that. I’ll keep that in mind in future, and again - so sorry to both of you. ExcellentWheatFarmer (talk) 06:53, 16 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
No problem. Something to think about if you’re a relatively new editor: avoid making “mass” changes to multiple articles. Try things out gradually. If it’s not quite right you’ll see from initial reaction early on - no harm no foul. If you do a lot of the same thing that’s not quite right it can be a little disruptive. Thanks. Need reason for revert

edit

Why? It is a link to the list of Marvel characters with some info about the concerned character SassyGamer483 (talk) 14:58, 11 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

@SassyGamer483 Well firstly, the page for MCU Mysterio is currently a draft. Secondly, it's not common practice to have the link to the MCU equivalent in the lede, especially in the place you put it. Hope that's a satisfactory enough explanation! ExcellentWheatFarmer (talk) 15:02, 11 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
A C-class article is clearly not a draft. And that extra info about Mysterio can't emptied out of the list and added to the article unless there is some reasonable room where it can fit. Readers should have direct access to have all relevant information SassyGamer483 (talk) 15:09, 11 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
You linked it to MCU Mysterio's page, which is currently a draft. The current link takes you to his section on the MCU character list, which contains almost the exact same information in the Film section of the article, so the link is unnecessary. Also, no other Marvel character page does this. ExcellentWheatFarmer (talk) 15:13, 11 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Apologies, I had not seen the film section of the article. Thank you and have a good day ;) SassyGamer483 (talk) 15:52, 11 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

WIkiProject Doctor Who Newsletter: July 2024

edit
The Space-Time Telegraph
Volume II, Issue I — July 2024
Brought to you by the editors of WikiProject Doctor Who

Okay–ooh. New teeth newsletter. That's weird...

Hello!

Welcome to the first regenerated issue of The Space-Time Telegraph, the official newsletter of WikiProject Doctor Who. We hope it finds you well in your safe travels across the Whoniverse! This newsletter was founded in 2008 and seemed to get lost in the time vortex quite quickly. Thanks to the Doctor dragging Sutekh through the time vortex and bringing life by bringing death to death (yeah... I'm a little confused too), it seems to have regenerated. The writing staff hopes to bring you future editions quarterly.
For this first edition, we have created an updated version of our mailing list that includes any active editors who previously had their usernames included in our participants list. If you do not wish to receive future editions, please remove your name from the mailing list. If you no longer wish to participate in the project, please also remove your name from the participants list.
I think that's enough about the newsletter for now. Let's dive into interesting things happening within the Doctor Who side of Wikipedia. Geronimooooo.....

Big Spike in Productivity

During 2024, the project has scored 8 GAs, 2 FLs and a GT, up from last year's 4 GAs and a GT. Several additional things are in the pipeline, with a bunch of things currently having been nominated with some mix of OlifanofmrTennant, TheDoctorWho, and Pokelego999 having their names attached to them. Allow me to look into the nominees.
  1. Series 14: As of July 18th, every single episode has been sent to GAN, with "Boom", "73 Yards", and "The Devil's Chord" having made it to GA.
  2. 2023 Specials: Early in the year, as part of trying to not lose the WikiCup, Ollie sent "The Star Beast" (still salty about the move) to GAN. It was reviewed by frequent collaborator (fly high) of hers, but failed. She then fixed it up and sent it back where it passed. Later "The Giggle" was expanded and sent to GA, followed shortly by "Wild Blue Yonder". WBY received help by JustAnotherCompanion, a pretty fresh user. This other companion chose not to be listed as co-nom. A page was created for "Destination: Skaro" and quickly got GA status.
  3. The Daleks' Master Plan was also sent to GAN by Rhain. It passed to join Rhain's other First Doctor content, being the fourth season three article to get the green check.
  4. Peter Capaldi: The filmography and newly created awards of Capaldi were both sent to FLC and passed. Capaldi's main page was sent to GA, though due to some minor incompetence on the part of the nominator it was failed.

Proposals to the WikiProject

A recent proposal at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Doctor Who suggested potential improvements and suggestions for the main page of the project, as well as discussions about the project overall. The proposals are as follows:
  1. The Task Forces section should be removed due to inactivity in the Torchwood Task Force, and a lack of significant interest in creating further Task Forces.
  2. The freenode channel no longer works and should be removed due to most discussion taking place on site.
  3. Due to the low quality of Lungbarrow and Jubilee despite being sample articles, these articles should either be removed as samples or improved. Additionally, the "sample device" has a very small application field, and should be removed from the sample articles section.
  4. An updates infobox should be included, similarly to those used by Wikipedia:VGCHAR.
  5. Radio Times's Doctor Who sections should be included in the references section due to their benefits for the project sourcing wise.
  6. The Deletion Discussion archive should be removed, or have work invested in updating it, due to its lack of updates.

If you feel you have any thoughts or suggestions on these matters, or on any other matters pertaining to the project and its main page, feel free to chime in the ongoing discussion.

Discussions of Note

A move discussion is currently underway on whether or not Doctor Who series 14 should be moved to Doctor Who season 1 (2024). The discussion also involves conversation on a few other adjacent articles. If you have an opinion on the matter please read over the discussion or leave comments.

WIkiProject Doctor Who: September 2024 Newsletter

edit
The Space-Time Telegraph
Volume II, Issue II — September 2024
Brought to you by the editors of WikiProject Doctor Who

You like Doctor Who? What's his name then?

Welcome

Hello and welcome to the second issue of the new newsletter! Following the success of the first newsletter we are back to write more stuff.

Articles for deletion
Several articles have been nominated for deletion, such as Time War (Doctor Who), and several articles have been deleted, or merged or redirected, especially those relating to books, due to lack of WP:SIGCOV and WP:NBOOK. Editors can always help either by participating in the deletion discussions (which are noted on the project page), adding to such articles, or bringing attention to other such articles through AfD or the WikiProject talk page, to aid in clean-up.

Notice of Draft Articles
A new Doctor Who spin-off was announced at the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con, called The War Between the Land and the Sea, and will feature old and new Whoniverse characters working for UNIT as they battle the Sea Devils. The main space article currently redirects to Whoniverse, but collaboration is currently underway in a draft article. As filming on this miniseries has recently begun, its relocation to the mains space will presumably take place soon per the recommendations laid out at WP:NTV.

There is also a draft article in progress for the upcoming 2024 Christmas special. While this article won't be moved until the episode airs, any new contributions are welcome.

Doctor Who News
A small number of editors have recently raised questions regarding the reliability of Doctor Who News. This website is particularly used for information regarding viewing figures and the Appreciation Index of most episodes as well as some news information. If there is a better source for any information supported by this website, it should be replaced in good faith.

A full consensus on whether or not to remove the information that can't be supported by a different source has not yet been reached. Any editor who has opinions on this matter should contribute to the discussion on the WikiProject talk page.

Continued Progress Towards Good/Featured Content
There has been lots of progress made towards recognized articles in the last two months, related to such diverse categories as series, specials, lists and episodes A sub-page has also been added to the WikiProject, to list any possible goals we can aim towards.

Proposals Regarding the State of Fictional Elements Articles in the WikiProject

Several proposals have been laid out regarding fictional elements in the WikiProject, which includes fictional characters, locations, and more. Due to a concerning quality state regarding the large majority of them, several methods of tackling them in order to improve these articles' quality for the future have been proposed. The primary three proposals are as follows:
1. A priority list should be made to determine what articles are most pressing and in need of improvement in the WikiProject overall. Focus would be put onto important subjects and articles in a state of dubious notability that would make them viable for deletion processes such as AfD.
2. A group of articles is selected for improvement, which are ones deemed most relevant to the WikiProject for the future. Any lesser important subjects can be sidelined and worked on as editors see fit.
3. A long term goal is made to improve all elements. This will come at the caveat of taking significantly longer and requiring more heavy participation than the above two proposals, but would guarantee a slow and steady way to solve the issue.
If any editors are interested in chiming into the conversation and sharing their piece on how this should be handled, or if any editors wish to help with this proposal and improve fictional elements articles, then feel free to share thoughts at the discussion's section on the article's talk page.

You've been unsubscribed from the Feedback Request Service

edit

Hi ExcellentWheatFarmer! You're receiving this notification because you were previously subscribed to the Feedback Request Service, but you haven't made any edits to the English Wikipedia in over six months.

In order to declutter the Feedback Request Service list, and to produce a greater chance of active users being randomly selected to receive invitations to contribute, you've been unsubscribed, along with all other users who have made no edits in six months.

You do not need to do anything about this - if you are happy to not receive Feedback Request Service messages, thank you very much for your contributions in the past, and this will be the last you hear from the service. If, however, you would like to resubscribe yourself, you can follow the below instructions to do so:

  1. Go to the Feedback Request Service page.
  2. Decide which categories are of interest to you, under the RfC and/or GA headings.
  3. Paste {{Frs user|ExcellentWheatFarmer|limit}} underneath the relevant heading(s), where limit is the maximum number of requests you wish to receive for that category per month.
  4. Publish the page.

If you've just come back after a wikibreak and are seeing this message, welcome back! You can follow the above instructions to re-activate your subscription. Likewise, if this is an alternate account, please consider subscribing your main account in much the same way.

Note that if you had a rename and left your old name subscribed to the FRS, you may be receiving this message on your new username's talk page still. If so, make sure your new account name is subscribed to the FRS, using the same procedure mentioned above.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask on the Feedback Request Service talk page, or on the Feedback Request Service bot's operator's talk page. Thank you! Happy New Year and Jimmy Carter

edit

It was over three years ago since we worked together on taking the article Jimmy Carter to the GA level. He died this afternoon, sadly! There'll naturally be a lot of attention on the page in the coming week. Would you mind taking a look at the page some days later to fix the potential issues that might exist or have been compiled in the last 3 years? I'll try doing the same. Hope you are doing well. Joy to the Doctor Who WikiProjects

Hello and welcome to the third issue of the new newsletter! A look ahead to the happenings of the WikiProject as we welcome a new year

Continued Improvement of Content

Since the last Newsletter, the articles "Eve of the Daleks", Terror of the Zygons, "The Name of the Doctor", "Silence in the Library", Doctor Who series 2, Mel Bush, Peter Capaldi, "Midnight", "Forest of the Dead", "The Church on Ruby Road", Doctor Who specials (2023), and Doctor Who series 14 have all been promoted to Good Article status. The Good Topic Doctor Who specials (2023) and the Featured Topic Peter Capaldi have also been promoted.
With the amount of articles promoted in the year, we have had our second most productive year of all time, falling just short of beating the record set by 2012. Work is continuing underway on articles Project-wide, and the Good Topic for the revived era nears completion.
Ongoing discussion and goals can be found at WP:WikiProject Doctor Who/Goals and nominees for promoted content here. Feel free to contribute in writing or in reviewing!

Reliable Sources

A discussion on the reliability of CultBox has determined that it should be phased out of use in the WikiProject. This source has been widely used across project articles, especially for information about filming. Concerns that the website is self-published and has poor editorial standards were raised. In some articles, project editors have already begun depreciating the source.
Similar concerns were raised about Doctor Who TV (doctorwho.tv.co.uk). Uses of this source have also been depreciated. This website should NOT be confused with Doctor Who TV (doctorwho.tv), a commercial website published by the Beeb, which is acceptable for use as a primary source.
As discussed in the previous issue, Doctor Who News has been widely phased out where possible. If you have any comments about these sources or any others, please contribute to the discussions on the project talk page.

Novels Being Overhauled

The scrutiny on many of the Doctor's past adventures through print over the years continues in regard to determining their individual notability. Discussions can be found on the WikiProject's talk page, with discussion still well under way in ironing out which articles pass the notability bar.
You can contribute by helping to improve articles of the novels, and other extended media, and bringing attention to the ones that might not.

Project Barnstar

In breaking news, it appears that Torchwood Three has been raided. The resurrection gauntlet has been stolen and used on the WikiProject Doctor Who Barnstar. If you notice exceptional contributions in project areas by any editor, feel free to show them some appreciation by awarding them their very own ✨barnstar✨.
Intelligence Bulletin from the Subwave Network
  • The War Between the Land and the Sea concluded filming on 10 December.
  • A 90-minute colourised version of The War Games aired on 23 December.
  • "Joy to the World" aired on 25 December.
  • An animated version of the completely missing First Doctor serial, The Savages, is due to be released in March 2025.
  • The editorial board of the newsletter is able to exclusively confirm that there will be no Dalek shenanigans for the third consecutive New Year. Polish off those resolutions, don't start a revolution, and celebrate New Year's Eve responsibly.

WIkiProject Doctor Who: March 2025 Newsletter

edit
The Space-Time Telegraph
Volume III, Issue I — March 2025
Brought to you by the editors of WikiProject Doctor Who

One hell of a newsletter.
Geronimoooo!
Apparently this newsletter the queen of outer space... wait... no, sorry; that's Belinda! Swashbuckle your seatbelts because this newsletter is full of information regarding recent happenings in the Doctor Who WikiProject. You'll also find updates on the upcoming series and elsewhere the expanded Whoniverse.

Series 15

The fifteenth series of Doctor Who is set to begin this Saturday with "The Robot Revolution" on 12 April and will conclude eight weeks later after "The Reality War" airs on 31 May. It will once again be accompanied by a new series of Doctor Who: Unleashed. Draft articles for all eight episodes have already been created, the links to which can be found here. New novelisations adapting the first three episodes of the series are set to be released on 10 July.

Recent Article Regenerations

Since the last Newsletter, we've had a whole heap of quality content added to the Project. The articles Thasmin, "Joy to the World", Vislor Turlough, "Space Babies", "Legend of the Sea Devils", Weeping Angel, Doctor Who series 13, Pyramids of Mars, "The Legend of Ruby Sunday", "The Power of the Doctor", The Twin Dilemma, "The Husbands of River Song", "Demons of the Punjab", Doctor Who Live, "The Return of Doctor Mysterio", and Attack of the Cybermen have all been improved to GA-level quality. List of Torchwood episodes and List of Doctor Who episodes (2005-present) have been improved to FL-level quality, while the Doctor Who specials (2022) and Doctor Who series 14 Good Topics have been successfully promoted.
An additional good topic covering the series articles from 2005–present has been nominated and is currently receiving feedback. Though content creation has slowed in recent months, content improvement should hopefully see an increase as series 15 ticks ever closer.

Future Project Goals

The WikiProject will once again be working in collaboration to complete a Good Topic encompassing the series and its related articles. Any contributions will be greatly appreciated. Several editors have planned upcoming work for Doctor Who-related character, episode, and performer articles. More information, as well as where you can find out how to help, can be found it at Wikipedia:WikiProject Doctor Who/Goals.

We Want You... To Help With The Newsletter

Due to the departure of previous newsletter contributors, the Newsletter is beaming out a message from Stonehenge requesting your help. If anyone would like to help actively contribute to the Newsletter's content updates, please let us know, as we are willing to accept anyone who is interested in helping with writing the Newsletter. We'll all stories in the end... make sure the newsletter is a chapter in yours.

WIkiProject Doctor Who: June 2025 Newsletter

edit
The Space-Time Telegraph
Volume III, Issue II — June 2025
Brought to you by the editors of WikiProject Doctor Who

People assume that a newsletters are a strict progression of stuff happening to author's writing,
but, actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of spacey-timey teley-graphy... stuff
This is my Space-Time Telegraph Detector: 🕹️
It goes *ding* when there's a new newsletter out
Welcome to the second 2025 issue of the Space-Time Telegraph. Apologies that we're a little late, sometimes this newsletter takes us when we need to go instead of when we want to go. In this edition you'll find everything that you need to keep you updated on things going on around the project as well as within the Whoniverse.

Am I a good (or featured) man Wikipedia article?

Since last Newsletter, many new GAs have been added to the Project. These include every individual episode in Doctor Who series 15 and a number of fictional characters, including Belinda Chandra, the companion of Series 15. A full list of Good promoted content can be found at Wikipedia:WikiProject Doctor Who#Articles with Good Article status. So far, we've promoted 33 GAs this year, and we're on track to beat our previous record of GAs promoted in a year (36 in 2012).
In terms of Good Topics, Wikipedia:Featured topics/List of Doctor Who episodes (2005–present) and Wikipedia:Good topics/Doctor Who series 14 were both promoted in May.
Additionally, with the promotion of Yeti (Doctor Who) to FA status just this past month, the project has gotten its first FA status article in nearly a decade, with the last FA promotion being From The Doctor to my son Thomas in November 2015.
Congratulations to all involved with these articles, and keep up the good work!

Space-Time Telegraph Materialization Schedule

With uncertainty surrounding when production of the parent show will resume, newsletter editors have decided to shift the publication schedule from quarterly to triannually for the time being. This means that the next issue will be published in December, and then every April, August, and December thereafter. When the future of the series is more certain, the schedule may update once more at that time.

Their songs have ended... but their stories, never end 🌹

Since the previous issue was published, some people related to Doctor Who have sadly passed away:

  • A five-part miniseries and spin-off of Doctor Who, The War Between the Land and the Sea concluded airing this month on BBC One. The series will release on Disney+ next year. The conclusion of that series on Disney+ will officially mark the end of the co-production deal between the Beeb and the Mouse House that was first announced in 2022. While Doctor Who has been confirmed to continue with a 2026 Christmas Special written by Russell T Davies, its status in international markets has yet to be announced. WIkiProject Doctor Who: April 2026 Newsletter

edit
The Space-Time Telegraph
Volume IV, Issue I — April 2026
Brought to you by the editors of WikiProject Doctor Who

A new newsletter materializing? Quick, help us reverse the polarity of the neutron flow so it can safely land on your talk pages!

Don't be lasagna (because there's a new newsletter to read)

Hello, and welcome to our first 2026 issue of The Space-Time Telegraph. Inside you'll find plenty of information about recent happenings in our little Who corner of Wikipedia. We've also included a plethora of Doctor Who news you may have missed elsewhere in the last few months such as the finding of previously missing episodes, upcoming and recent product releases, a new streaming home for Who across the pond (and even a potential future partnership for new episodes). So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and jump on in!

Into the Vortex! (Of Good and Featured Content)

Since our newsletter last December, the Doctor Who WikiProject has seen a large amount of quality article improvement. So far, 16 Good Articles have been improved this year! We're at about the same pace we were last year, which is always good to see, especially given the twelve other articles nominated for GA status at present. Special shoutouts to users Rhain for their improvements on First Doctor serials, SkywalkerEccleston for their various improvements across a wide variety of articles, Lbal for their work on Full Circle (Doctor Who), and Doomitron for their work on Sixth Doctor.
Additionally, since then, Ice Warrior has been improved to Featured Article status, List of Doctor Who creatures and aliens and List of Doctor Who characters have been improved to Featured List status, and three Good Topics focused on articles relating to the Midnight Entity, the Slitheen, and Doctor Who series 15 have been nominated and approved.
Congratulations to all of the users who have improved quality Doctor Who articles in the past few months!

A flabbergasting discovery

In March, it was announced that episodes 1 ("The Nightmare Begins") and 3 ("Devil's Planet") of The Daleks' Master Plan were found by the charity Film is Fabulous! in a private collection among some films. The collector gave them permission to have them and sadly passed away not long after. Upon learning of the discovery through Toby Hadoke, actor Peter Purves, who starred in the episodes alongside William Hartnell and Adrienne Hill, said "My flabber has never been so gasted". The episodes were shown at a BFI screening (with Purves in attendance) in April and are now available on BBC iPlayer in the UK and the official Doctor Who Classic YouTube channel in the US. This means that episodes 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10 of The Daleks' Master Plan are now available.
It has been hinted that more could be found in the near future as 95 episodes remain missing.

Intelligence Bulletin from the Subwave Network

  • The 1996 American-produced Doctor Who television film was remastered in 4K using the original film reels for a Blu-ray release this May. The restored version includes both the UK and U.S. broadcast versions and new special features.
  • Big Finish Productions recently extended their contract with the BBC to continue licensing the Doctor Who franchise intellectual property for audio stories through 2035. The first new production to be confirmed following this announcement, is a fifteen-part box set featuring David Tennant set to begin releasing bimonthly next year.
  • In February, the First Doctor serial The Rescue was published on vinyl record as a special release for Record Store Day in the United Kingdom.
  • Circuit Breaker, a new multi-platform story starring Jo Martin as the Fugitive Doctor was announced by BBC Studios to launch this June. Spanning audio, books, comics, games, magazine, internet, and Blu-ray releases, tells a singular interconnected story about UNIT's Black Archive across several mediums.
  • Seventeen years after its last release, Character Options is releasing a new five-part set of Doctor Who figures beginning in July.
  • In the United States, AMC+ has secured rights to be the exclusive streaming video on demand host of all 2005–2022 Doctor Who episodes. This era of Who has been unavailable to stream in the States since its removal from HBO Max in July 2025. Noticeably absent from press releases are mention of spin-off series Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures; while these shows have historically been packaged with this era of Who in streaming deals on HBO Max, before that on Amazon Prime Video, as well as Netflix and Hulu in the ancient days, there is no confirmation if these will be included. Elsewhere in America, Classic Who has it's own streaming home on BritBox (yes, BritBox still exists on this side of the pond), while the 60th anniversary specials and Gatwa's era remain on Disney+ for the foreseeable future. Disney has also yet to release The War Between the Land and the Sea, a five-part miniseries previously marketed by the company as releasing outside of the UK and Ireland in "early 2026". There is also no news on where, if anywhere, future episodes of Who will air or stream in the United States (or elsewhere worldwide, for that matter); however, AMC Global Media (the owner of AMC+) owns BBC America, which it regularly licenses BBC content for and was the linear broadcaster of Who from 2009–2022, and a non-controlling ownership stake in BritBox. AMC+ was also previously the next-day streamer of Who episodes during the Jodie Whittaker/Chris Chibnall-era as a transitional period between their broadcast on BBC America and release on HBO Max. Given this, and the global reach of AMC+, it's a feasible home for future new episodes and even the rumored potential of a co-production deal to fill the funding deficit left by Disney.

Succession

The oldest-living person associated with the Whoniverse since Arnold Yarrow's death in December 2024, Laurie Webb, sadly passed away on 29 March aged 101 years, 327 days. He remains the fifth longest-lived person associated with the Whoniverse and the tenth to become a centenarian. The title of oldest-living person associated with the Whoniverse is now held by 97-year-old Peter Cellier (Time-Flight).
