Misuse of rollback

Hello, you misused your rollback rights to undo my edits to Ajayi Crowther University. As I understand it, the right should only be used to undo vandalism or clearly problematic edits. I'd ask you to review this and revert yourself here; if you cannot commit to taking the time to review edits before rolling them back I will open a discussion to strip you of the rollback permission. Thanks! 🄻🄰 17:01, 12 May 2026 (UTC)

Strong supoort from me, see comment above about taking greater care. This person's edit history indicates they are out of control and their actions are damaging Wikipedia.  Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2026-24692-77 (talk)

  • Let's start from this edit you literally removed the whole section and your edit summary was Cut Trivia
  • On Here you said cut some Ranking from a random website
  • On Here Your edit summary was Cut promo, WP:NEWSORGNIGERIA

And more. Destinyokhiria (talk / cont) 17:20, 12 May 2026 (UTC)

If you have a problem will how I edited the page report me or make a complaint at the Article's talkpage, but don't come to my talkpage to tell me "you will open a discussion to strip you of the rollback permission". Destinyokhiria (talk / cont) 17:22, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
No problem! I have opened a discussion about this at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. 🄻🄰 17:52, 12 May 2026 (UTC)

When using rollback to revert non-vandalism, you must explain why you are reverting the edit. "Reverting non-constructive edits" is vague and gives someone no real clue as to why you used rollback. You need to use an edit summary that addresses that specific edit. For example, "removal of sourced content" would cover reverting someone who disruptively removed sourced content, but "non-constructive edits" would not. Rollback is designed to be used primary for quickly reverting vandalism. You can use something like Twinkle if you want a quick undo that does not use rollback. May 2026 Administrator Elections – Voting Phase

The voting phase of the May 2026 administrator elections has started and will continue until 19 May 2026 at 23:59 UTC. You can participate in the voting phase at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/May 2026/Voting phase.

As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:

  • May 13–19: SecurePoll voting phase (we are here)
  • Scrutineering phase

In the voting phase, the candidate subpages close to public questions and discussion, and everyone who qualifies to vote has a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote totals cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's vote total during the election. The suffrage requirements are similar to those at RFA.

Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last for a few days, perhaps longer. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the results page (this is a good page to watchlist), and transcluded to the main election page. In order to be granted adminship, a non-recall candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose), and a minimum of 20 support votes. Recall candidates must achieve 55.0% support. Because this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ("crat chats").

Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

I do not believe that my edits on Punjabi Cinema constituted vandalism.

Just to preface this, I am a new editor and still learning the ropes. However, I do not understand how my edits on Punjabi Cinema constitute vandalism. I've discussed my rationale in the talk page, as well as, each edit that I've made. Additionally, I have read through Wikipedia pages regarding editing philosophy and how articles should be written. The bulk of this page is bloated in such a manner that it's difficult to discern the impact of a film on the industry versus the cast list(I've removed cast lists if there is already an existing page that includes them so I'm not deleting anything that can't be found on Wikipedia).

Much of the language is highly opinionated and seems to be plagarizing a source that is no longer accessible(Source 9; History of Lollywood). There are remarks being made regarding the exodus of actors from the industry with no citation given, opinions are given on a film's impact with no citation such as with 'Nanak Nam Jahaz Ha', and trends are being described in that same section that have no foundation in fact. As of now, I've only made edits regarding the history section through combining redundant sections as with Daughters of Today, eliminated cast listings if they were provided with a seperate article that is linked within this article, and various grammatical edits. The tag that I placed was to signal my ongoing effort to revitalize this page to other editors and bring this up to Feature-Quality article.

While I understand the hesitation to remove the work of previous editors instead of 'improving' it, the changes I have made did not remove any important information: only unsubstatiated opinions & redundant cast listings. Further, I was acting in the spirit of Be Bold. I believe that such a fundamental article shouldn't just rehash existing wikipedia articles with poor grammar, but rather, paint a picture of the evolution of Punjabi Cinema. If I'm totally wrong, I'll be embarrassed but I'll get it, however, I do not believe that my changes constituted vandalism and I would like them reverted. New Page Patrol Newsletter - May 2026

Hello Destinyokhiria,

New Page Review queue November 2025 - May 2026

Backlog update

At the time of this message, there are 15,282 articles and 32,951 redirects awaiting review.

After the January–February drive the article backlog was reduced to 15,179 articles and the redirect backlog to 19,053 respectively. Great job! However, both queues are growing rapidly and any additional reviews are highly appreciated.

2024 and 2025 NPP Awards

JTtheOG was selected as the NPP reviewer of the year for both 2024 and 2025, for reviewing the most articles amongst all reviewers.

Hey man im josh and MPGuy2824 won the Redirect Ninja Master Award for 2024 and 2025 respectively, for reviewing the most redirects.

Overall in 2024, one Platinum, two Gold, eight Silver, 12 Bronze and 45 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 66 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year. In 2025, one Platinum, ten Silver, 13 Bronze and 38 Iron Barnstars were awarded. Additionally, 38 reviewers got the NPP barnstar for doing more than 100 reviews through the year.

BoyTheKingCanDance, Rosiestep, SunDawn, and Vanderwaalforces were inducted into the NPP Hall of Fame for having two separate years of 2,000+ article reviews.

January–February backlog drive

The experimental two-month long backlog drive concluded with 183 reviewers patrolling over 27,761 articles and 35,309 redirects, earning over 36,836 points. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 6,484.6 points in this drive.

May backlog drive

An article-only backlog drive is currently underway. We are hoping to make a big dent in the backlog. You can read more about it or join at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Backlog drives/May 2026.

PageTriage

An attempt was made to get the New Pages Feed to sort by date marked as reviewed instead of date created. However we had to revert it due to bugs. We may try again in the future. You can subscribe to the Phabricator ticket if you're interested in following along.

Question from SonomonoJP (06:49, 15 May 2026)

Hi, I was reviewing the “Home” section of the Nattō article and I noticed several statements that seem unsourced or overly broad. I wanted to ask for your opinion before editing it.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nattō

The section currently says:

“Nattō continues to be a popular home fermentation activity with some families starting new batches daily...”

My concerns are mainly about scope, sourcing, and geographic context:

1. “Nattō continues to be a popular home fermentation activity with some families starting new batches daily.”

This sounds very broad, but it does not specify where this is supposed to be common (Japan? worldwide?). I could not find a source attached to it.

2. “Home production was historically done using rice straw...”

This may refer to historical practices in Japan, but again there is no source explaining the context or region.

3. “...but is now done with moist towels over glass pans or perforated plastic wrap on thermostat-controlled heating pads.”

This also seems very region-specific and unsourced. I have lived in Japan for about 20 years, and in my experience most people simply buy nattō at stores rather than fermenting it at home, so I am unsure what population this statement refers to.

4. “At-home fermentation machines are also available but are rarely marketed specifically for nattō...”

This part especially seems inaccurate in the Japanese context, since dedicated nattō fermentation machines can be purchased in Japan.

https://www.amazon.com/Fermentation-Machine-Electric-Containers-Temperature/dp/B0FL7479MH/ref=sr_1_11?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.g4jIU9WH56Ntt1tOSpHsishjAA9VqzECzrjXV1zt6CGGXbN4-zghZZXjgfntUnuBFCr7VTrtu07lJ_AeyT00FTtPXN-6z6fx1NGCmfhVSX1KLy5EX9rPFJhVB3glgJxx25tnGZmjB_tkDK5znSZlGhTtuC3OIG0wEwQovZUOsPy0l Would it be appropriate to:

  • add citation-needed tags,
  • rewrite the paragraph in a more neutral/general way,
  • or remove some of the unsupported claims entirely?

I would appreciate your advice before making changes. --SonomonoJP (talk) 06:49, 15 May 2026 (UTC)

I would advice you add citation-needed tags, because if you decide to remove the claims, some user might opposed and revert your changes. Destinyokhiria (talk / cont) 07:55, 15 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from Ohenesarpong on Help:List of tutorials and introductions (08:14, 16 May 2026)

how do i enlist a chief? i mean how to create biography of a chief? --Ohenesarpong (talk) 08:14, 16 May 2026 (UTC)

@Ohenesarpong: Welcome! Creating a new article from scratch is extremely challenging, and new editors are strongly recommended to spend a few weeks learning how Wikipedia works, by making improvements to some of our existing seven million articles before trying it. When you do decide to have a go at a new article, you are highly encouraged to read Help:Your first article. If you haven't already also check out the tutorial; it's a lot of fun! Happy editing! ~ 🤗 Destinyokhiria (talk / cont) 09:31, 16 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from T.Tomahau (07:18, 17 May 2026)

Hi Destinyokhiria! I would like to create a short Wikipedia page in German and English about myself before my new book is published in Germany. (It has a Nazi style eagle on its cover and I want it to be plain to all that I am opposed to Nazis, thereby introducing myself briefly.) I would also like to add a short photo. Could you tell me where I might do this? Thank you in advance! Tommi --T.Tomahau (talk) 07:18, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
