'Wikipedians looking for help' inside an #if: autoconfirmed: should it be?
editCurrently the paragraph about There are currently N user(s) asking for help via the {{Help me}} template, and the category tree are both inside an #ifeq conditional testing {{PROTECTIONLEVEL}} showing category data to newbies only, and I don't think they should be. If anything, it should be the other way round, and shown *only* to EC or better, and will likely only confuse new users. I only noticed this after coming here to place {{Wikipedians looking for help}} on the page, and saw that similar code was already here, but with the #if coded backwards, imho. - Dropped the message from autoconfirmed-only view on the main page, and replaced it by adding {{Wikipedians looking for help}} to the header instead. As before, it is conditional, so that the message only appears when there is something in the category, but when present it is visible to all. Could suppress it for non-EC users if desired, but I don't see the point. Mathglot (talk) 22:12, 2 November 2025 (UTC)

Gracias ~2025-40270-32 (talk) 04:07, 15 December 2025 (UTC)

- @~2025-40270-32: We can't help you with the Spanish Wikipedia. You can try asking at es:Wikipedia:Café/Archivo/Ayuda/Actual (after you get unblocked there). Children Will Listen (🐄 talk, 🫘 contribs) 04:21, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
Manual request for Infobox correction - Irfan Faiz Abbasi

- I'm not seeing an actual request here, but if you wish to make a request to update an article, the best place to do so would be at the Talk page for that article. DonIago (talk) 21:23, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
Which editor?
editWe often have to ask people which editor they are using, which can be confusing for them and long-winded for us to explain.
I have made Wikipedia:Which editor? to which we can refer such people. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 12:01, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
I Done a Whoopsie?
editI think I may have broken something on the currently last Help desk query Unblock requests, perhaps by using self-cobbled coding to insert two 'trademark' symbols. At any rate, I find I can no longer edit the section at all. Can anybody check if it is broken, and if so mop up my mess? Thanks. {The poster formerly knwn as 87.81.230.195} ~2026-76101-8 (talk) 14:11, 4 May 2026 (UTC)
- @~2026-76101-8: It's probably because a new section has been started after it. Go to the page and force a refresh (often control + F5), and things should clear up. DuncanHill (talk) 14:34, 4 May 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for responding, Duncan. Have now tried that, and still get a "There was an error while loading the form. To continue, you will need to reload the page." message. This after having closed Wikipedia and then later opened it again to look up something completely different. Never mind, I was only trying to correct a trivial typo. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} ~2026-76101-8 (talk) 15:31, 4 May 2026 (UTC)
- @~2026-76101-8: I assume you mean Wikipedia:Help_desk#Unblock_requests? I don't see any reason it won't open for you. What address do you end up at when you try to edit it? Try going to here. DuncanHill (talk) 19:31, 4 May 2026 (UTC)
- Given that you frequent the help desk I presume you've seen recent discussions with similar issues, but I wonder/suspect it's at least not something you did, unless you and the two people who asked on the help desk and one person who asked at VPT have some common denominator...
