Addressing Notability concerns (NDA)
editHi everyone,
I've made updates to the National Designer Awards page regarding the Notability tag.
In particular, I've:
1. Replaced generic promotional statements with real, neutral, encyclopedia-type facts.
2. Added high-quality, Independent secondary sources from reputable Publications, including:
2.1 In-depth Editorial coverage in The Times of India (for regional textiles and AMount). 2.2 An Industry-focused feature in The Financial Express explaining how handloom modernization relates to the Vocal for Local Initiative. 2.3 An analysis piece in Business World explaining the structure, panel discussions and regional reach of the 2024 session. 2.4 An in-depth profile/interview of the individual designers in Rediff.Com, as well as information regarding the individual designers who will be given awards in 2024.
These Independent, Reliable, and Secondary sources provide extensive coverage of the event's history and format, as well as their Industry impact, therefore making them all compliant with the GNG.
I would appreciate the Community and Experienced Editors that will take the time to review the updated references and the tone used, and hopefully will consider removing the Notability Template Tag. Thank you for your time. AnkushBharadwaj (talk) 09:33, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
- I have updated the article by refining the references to include high-quality, verified mainstream sources like The Times of India, The Financial Express, and BusinessWorld. Any weak or user-generated links (like blogs) have been removed to ensure the page strictly complies with the General Notability Guidelines (GNG). Requesting the community to review the updated page and consider removing the Notability tag. Thank you. AnkushBharadwaj (talk) 14:01, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
- Update: I have further cleaned up the article to strictly align with Wikipedia's guidelines. Any remaining promotional or legal jargon (such as trademark registrations) has been completely removed to maintain an encyclopedic and neutral tone. Furthermore, all broken links have been fixed, and additional high-quality, organic secondary coverage from trusted mainstream media houses like NDTV India, Patrika, and ET Now Luxe has been incorporated. Since the page now thoroughly satisfies the General Notability Guidelines (GNG) and all initial concerns have been resolved, I am removing the notability template tag. Thank you. - @AnkushBharadwaj Thanks for making an effort to tidy up the article, but it still has promotional language - please see Wikipedia:PEACOCK. Please also note WP:AITALK. Thank you! Dreamyshade (talk) 02:42, 5 July 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for the guidance, Dreamyshade. I completely understand your concerns regarding WP:PEACOCK and WP:AITALK. I have thoroughly revised the article again to strip away any remaining subjective qualifiers (such as "notable") and toned down the phrasing to be strictly factual and encyclopedic. I have also simplified the descriptions of the event's format and participants to maintain an entirely neutral point of view. Please review the updated text, and let me know if any further adjustments are needed. AnkushBharadwaj (talk) 13:11, 6 July 2026 (UTC)
- That revision helped, thanks for making an effort! Note that WP:AITALK discourages using LLMs to generate talk page comments, not about article contents. The guideline related to LLMs in article content is at Wikipedia:Writing articles with large language models. In general when writing on Wikipedia, the best approach is to always write in your own words, not copy-pasting text from a LLM, whether in an article, an edit summary, or a talk page. - Yes, thank you for highlighting the LLM requirement. I will ensure that I always use my words henceforth. The ANI link has been removed from the article as it is just a press release. I hope its fare with this one. AnkushBharadwaj (talk) 09:07, 8 July 2026 (UTC)
