Talk:List of best-selling female music artists in the United Kingdom

Change Introduction and review data

edit

The Introduction should be more explict that the list includes albums, singles, maxi-single, songs and stream-equivalent song units as ONE UNIT each.

Should also say this is based on certified units and not on total real units that were sold (that according to Official Charts and Music Week are a lot more for some of the artists listed here)

Certified Numbers listed are wrong for some pre-1994 artists since physical single sales certs for those releases are separated from Digital Single releases and need to summed up (many Madonna sales are missing there - for example Madonna "Like a Prayer" certified single sales are 1.2 million for digital Song/streams + 400k for physical single cert as explained on Music Week and not just 1.2 million).

Also to have a divide list for ALbums and Singles/Songs could be good since as UK Official CHarts and British Certification every 10 digital song/streaming units = 1 album mmaking it summing them all together a bit confusing and very misleading.  Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2025-42617-02 (talk) 13:09, 23 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Change

edit

I think this should be renamed and organized to a general list, "best-selling music artists in the United Kingdom". --Apoxyomenus (talk) 14:05, 6 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
