Given that this is an English-language article, it may be helpful to add IPA for 'acceptable' English pronunciations (or, more generally, discussion regarding the pronunciation of the name). ... Anecdotally, I've heard a number of people with certainly-wrong pronunciations that, oddly, involve an `r` roughly /ˈɡɝbl̩s/ ('gerbils' with a hard 'g'), which is bewildering given how the name is spelt. (I wonder if this is (rhotic) Americans who have heard (non-rhotic) Britons and mis-parsed?) —Preceding unsigned comment added by HalfSourLizard (talk • contribs) 14:33, 3 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
The lead is only to be a summary of the article main points. The body of the article is for details, much as you desire, apparently. Kierzek (talk) 21:38, 16 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

I have removed for the second time a list of Ten Commandments supposedly issued by Goebbels in 1941, sourced to this webpage. If you click the link to the original bulletin, you see a hand-typed newsletter. I don't think this looks like a high quality scolarly source. Today I decided to see if there's any other sources for such a set of commandments, and I found this webpage issued by a professor at Calvin University, whic is a better source, but lists a completely different set of commandments that Goebbels wrote in 1932. Does anybody think either of these should be included in our article? I don't agree with adding either of these, especially the 1941 version, which is poorly sourced. Comments welcome. — Diannaa🍁(talk) 20:25, 19 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
The original bulletin was from the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, a news agency. I don't think we should count the typing against it, I suspect it was not uncommon for small agencies at the time. What would help would be to find the publication in Das Reich, and of course further mention by historians to establish notability. "Senior Nazi says nasty things about Jews" is pretty much par for the course. As for the second, looks like a reputable professor, but again just how significant is it? Has anyone else written about it? DuncanHill (talk) 00:30, 20 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I have now searched using the title (The Nazi-Sozi) Prof. Randall Bytwerk uses for Goebbel's publication, and found nothing further (except a couple places where you can buy it, and a listing at WorldCat). — Diannaa🍁(talk) 13:37, 20 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
