Voorzitter - Speaker????
editI very much disapprove of translating Voorzitter as Speaker. Speaker is a function known in Anglo-saxon parliaments. The use of speaker as a translation is inaccurate and could create a false impression: the man/woman is a Chairman or a President of the chamber. There are no doubt many who prefer to use speaker because it is used in English. Speaker, however, is an equivalent and the term does not accurately reflect the Dutch situation. Everybody got to be somewhere! (talk) 22:52, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- The English-language website also uses "Chairman" for that post. Glide08 (talk) 22:44, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
- On the other hand, the official translation of the Constitution uses the word "Speaker". Luxorr (talk) 16:33, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
- I would go with the house website (ie use chairman), although his tasks and appointment are very similar to the US situation (selected by the house at start of period). Arnoutf (talk) 18:25, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
- The House website itself isn't particularly consistent on the matter. Luxorr (talk) 18:52, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
- President and chair would both be correct. President is a more literal translation. Speaker would not be, as this is implied a more Westminster-style role, which the chair in Dutch parliamentary procedures does not have. Slomo666 (talk) 19:06, 23 February 2026 (UTC)

Vacant seats
editCurrently there are eleven vacancies.
As a result of a resignation and a number of ministerial appointments,
The fraction of D66 now has 23 members. (3 vacant)
CDA has 16. (2 vacant)
VVD has 16. (6 vacant)

Should the infobox be updated accordingly? (Seats will be filled by next week, but are currently vacant) Slomo666 (talk) 19:13, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
- Not really worth it, they will be filled soon (Wednesday!) and will have no material effect. With the cabinet change, there is a lot that still needs updating, best to focus on that Dajasj (talk) 19:18, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
Separate groups GL&PvdA
editI forgot about the earlier discussions, although there was no consensus to include it back then. It also appears to be original research, I can't reproduce the given numbers. Additionally, at least some of them are member of both parties, which makes it more problematic Dajasj (talk) 04:01, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
- @Extended Cut: Do you have a source for this? Brainiac242 (talk) 12:58, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
- I took the info from the individual parties pages, so not really. Extended Cut (talk) 16:17, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
