Editing Plan

edit

Howdy, I am working on editing this article as part of a Technical Editing class at Texas A&M University. I wanted to share what I plan to change before making major edits.

  • Reorganization of headings, subheadings, table of contents, and content to follow the Wikipedia:WikiProject Dogs style guide and other canine-related articles rated as Good Articles (Wikipedia:Good articles).
  • Expand the Lead section to encompass a complete summary of article content.
  • Guarantee neutral point of view throughout the article according to WP:NPOV.
  • Ensure relevant images are placed closer to where they are showcased in the article.
  • Any copyediting required — grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc. (WP:COPYEDIT)

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let me know! Thank you! Libertycox1970 (talk) 14:55, 29 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Here is a list of content order changes I made, according to the Wikipedia:WikiProject Dogs style guide:
  • ADDED “1890s,” “1900s,” and “20th Century” subheadings into the “History” section.
  • MOVED the “Numbers” section to the “History” section.
  • MOVED the beginning of the “Modern Breed” section into the “History” section and labeled it “Kennel club classification,” similar to the Belgian Shepherd article.
  • MOVED the “Temperament,” “Aggression and Biting,” and “Variants” sections into the “Description” section.
  • CHANGED the “Temperament” section heading to “Behavior.”
  • MOVED the “Intelligence” and “Aggression and Biting” sections under the “Behavior” section.
  • CHANGED the “Aggression and biting” section to “Bite and Jaw Force”
  • MOVED up the “Health” section.
  • ADDED subheading “Lifespan” to “Health” section.
  • CHANGED the “Use as a working dog” section heading to “Use.”
  • MOVED the “Controversies” section to after the “Health” section.

In popular culture section after the line "The taxidermy mount of Kántor's body is on display at the Police Museum in Budapest.[97][98]" Please Add this: Also the word 'German Shepherd' is used by billions around the world to talk about Indian Youtuber Dhruv Rathee, often in a content of a combination of residency in Germany and loyality for Left wing ideology.[1] Mukulsehgal (talk) 19:52, 26 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
