Wikipedia own presentation of Nazareth presents it as fully part of Israel

This should be corrected from the article.

Hi @Cannolis! I know this is months late, but why are we even calling her "Chilean" in the opening sentence?

She has Chilean ancestry, but:

1. She wasn't born in Chile.

2. Nothing indicates that she is based primarily there.

3. Nothing indicates she has Chilean citizenship or why it's relevant to her career.

Beyond her heritage, being "Chilean" has nothing to do with her notability as a singer.

She moved to America, grew up there and began her career there. AFAIK, she's based in America now too. An LA Times article even describes her as a "Tarzana ingenue" and describes her as being from Tarzana.

I’m struggling to see where there is a lack of consensus. Ann editor (Onel5969) already denied a edit request on the basis that Nazareth is in Israel, so adding "Nazareth, Israel" aligns with Wikipedia’s guidelines for listing both city and country in birthplaces.

To add to this, Elyanna seems to be the only person I’ve come across on Wikipedia whose birthplace omits the country entirely. This inconsistency is confusing for readers and doesn’t follow the standard applied to other biographies.

Elyanna has one (1) grandparent from Chile. She was not born in Chile nor has she ever lived there. She does not speak fluent Spanish. It should be mentioned that she incorporates elements of her Chilean ancestry into her music, but it should not be hyphenated to imply Chilean nationality. This omission goes against established Wikipedia guidelines, see; Template:Infobox writer, birth_place, which specifies that birthplaces should include "city, state, country" for clarity and consistency. Nazareth is internationally recognized as part of Israel, that's a geographical fact.
