New Zealanders

edit

"Alinghi alone had 4 New Zealanders as crew"

I thought it was 6, Coutts inclusive.
There were 8 in total on the team, not sure about the actual crew. Dramatic 01:44 13 March 2003 (UTC)

Move history to its own page

edit

I suggest to move the history section to its own page, as it is very long and only leave a brief summary in this page (comparable to the history section on this page: 38th America's Cup). This allows to focus the Americas Cup page more on general information and summary's that are more relevant to most users. Additionally, this allows to shorten and focus the pages for the Americas Cup editions, which are full of unnecessary general Americas Cup information that should be on this page.

If no one disagrees I would implement this change in the coming weeks. V.Glas (talk) 12:57, 13 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Northern Ireland

edit

Asking this here as well as at List of America's Cup challengers and defenders

The "Shamrock" entrants are designated to Northern Ireland. That entity didn't technically exist in the relevant years so are we absolutely certain that it's accurate to use that label? doktorb wordsdeeds 03:23, 5 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Unlike the List article, this one already shows all English/Scottish/Irish clubs as "United Kingdom", which is historically accurate. - Davidships (talk) 02:15, 10 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Venues

edit

I know that the America's Cup race used to be held in the waters off the coast of the defending team's country. This is obviously no longer true, because the 2027 race will be held at Naples, Italy. The article does not state when the old system changed, or why it changed. Tesseract12 (talk) 03:31, 12 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
