This was discussed on uk.railway in 2004. From this post, there are only four:

Lewes - A27
Rye - A259 - ×2
Onibury - A49

I've now checked my maps, and I count at least 8 in England alone;

east of Lewes - A27
east of Rye - A259 x 3
Onibury - A49
south of Wisbech - A47
north of Oswestry - A5
south of Oswestry - A483

It's also possible that there is one more, depending on whether the A154 (the extension of the A14) into the Port of Felixstowe is trunk or not. Richard B 18:20, 8 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

This article is a bit too wordy for me, which is why I've added the {{essay-entry}} template. See A1 and A66 for good examples of how a roads article should be laid out, and not simply a narrative of all its waypoints, which is not useful for an encyclopedia.
