Stop mistranslating please
editEnough already with "semi-smokeless" powder. This is a known mistranslation of the german, which uses a term that literally translate to low-smoke powder. The problem with using the term "semi-smokeless" is that it might prompt the reader to think that it was some kind of nitrocellulose/black powder blend (like they used in the USA). This is not what happened in Austria. The Gewehrpulver M.90 was nitroglycerin based. In the transition period when smokeless powder was being introduced, the german language used the more precise term Rauchschwaches Pulver (meaning low smoke powder) rather than the rather comparatively true yet inaccurate term Rauchloses Pulver (lit. smokeless powder).
