Harry Wheatcroft
editHello, I notice you made contributions to the quite interesting Wikipedia page on Harry Wheatcroft. I am writing a small article about him, and would be most interested in your views or if you have any recommended sources. Thanks very much. Cheers John JohnM9999 (talk) 17:43, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
- I didn't make any contributions, other than to mark something as 'unsourced'. It looks like the editors that started the article have been inactive since 2010. Sionk (talk) 18:05, 9 January 2025 (UTC)

Hello. You're invited to participate in The World Destubathon. We're aiming to destub a lot of articles and also improve longer stale articles. It started today on Monday June 16 and will run until Sunday July 13. There is over $3300 going into it, with $500 the top prize and around $340 (£250) worth of prizes for Architecture articles, both global and for the UK and Ireland. If you are interested in winning something to save you money in buying books for future content, or just see it as a good editathon opportunity to see a lot of articles improved for subjects which interest you, sign up on the page in the participants section if interested. Even if you can only manage a few articles they would be very much appreciated and help make the content produced as diverse and broad as possible! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:26, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
T4P
editHi there, I can't seem to find, where it is that you submitted the T4P request for the redirect to be deleted in order to make way for the draft to be moved to the mainspace? I looked at your edit history to try and find it without bothering you, but could not find it. Can you help me find this and move it along? The article has been stuck as a draft for a while now. Iljhgtn (talk) 01:31, 4 August 2025 (UTC)
- You couldn't find the edit because an admin had already deleted the redirect. I can't really fault them for being "speedy" with a speedy deletion request... Sionk (talk) 22:38, 4 August 2025 (UTC)

editI also had a draft for Draft:Advocates for Self-Government if you have a moment since you appear to be good at reviewing and improving drafts and all. That one doesn't need to clear way from a pre-existing redirect too. So I believe it should be easier and more straightforward. Iljhgtn (talk) 13:03, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
- I tend to agree with the previous reviewer at the moment. Reliable in=depth sources are a bit thin on the ground (or rather non-existent). This could be something to do with the organisation being launched pre-internet, Wikipedia has an overwhelmingly strong recentism bias (unfortunately). Maybe you'd stand slightly more chance by writing an article on Marshall Fritz? Sionk (talk) 08:02, 6 August 2025 (UTC)
- From what I saw, Marshall Fritz was also previously a page, since deleted. I think that this organization (around since the 1980s) is notable enough to pass WP:NONPROFIT, especially if you look at the coverage going all the way back. Some of it is in the wayback machine of archive.org. Iljhgtn (talk) 16:54, 6 August 2025 (UTC)
- I added more since that last commenter reviewed it too. Iljhgtn (talk) 16:54, 6 August 2025 (UTC)

Thank you for the Eisteddfodau, and some random query
editHi, thank you for your work on the Eisteddfodau, was long on my list, and decided to make this year's as it was local to me :) so your Cardiff one now has a (recent) friend! I do hope to make some, although you seem to be on a great streak!
But concerning Eisteddfod AmGen 2021, I had decapitalised the translations. I assume they are translations, not an alternative English title for the books etc, because under Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Titles_of_works#Translations if they're just translations they're decapitalised as they're not a proper noun themselves. Of course if any are actually English titles then it can be capitalised if the English names are. Sorry if I am being pedantic on something so minor, and appreciate all the work you have done on them recently! As it is your page I'll leave it be but just wanted to explain why. Diolch DankJae 00:03, 30 August 2025 (UTC)
- Fair enough about the translation formatting. Of course, nothing is really "my" page once it's released into the wild, haha. I haven't been the most consistent, I admit, but it just looked weird (and still does) with the English all in lower case. But in the interests of consistency I'll go through and review my eccentric formatting. Sionk (talk) 10:02, 30 August 2025 (UTC)

PageTriage
An attempt was made to get the New Pages Feed to sort by date marked as reviewed instead of date created. However we had to revert it due to bugs. We may try again in the future. You can subscribe to the Phabricator ticket if you're interested in following along.

Could you look at a new art-related page I've written
editHello, Sionk, I'm writing because you seem knowledgeable and you did a number of edits on the Ucross Foundation page, which relates to my topic. I'm trying to create a new page about the Roswell Artist-in-Residence program -- at the moment Wikipedia only has an article on the Roswell Artist-in-Residence Compound. which is incomplete and incorrect because it is about the former residency site but not the current one. I've created a new and thoroughly sourced page, but I'm new to editing and someone experienced should look at it and tell me anything I've missed doing, and what I need to do before I try to make it live. Would you be willing to take a look if I send it to you? I think it's up on my user page now here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Classicalbeat. Thank you for all your good work, and for any time you can give to this! (Also, if anyone is able to correct the Roswell Artist-in-Residence Compound page, have at it!) Classicalbeat (talk) 20:40, 16 June 2026 (UTC)Classicalbeat
- Hi Classicalbeat, it's the usual story for Wikipedia, you'll need to demonstrate that the subject is notable enough for a Wikipedia article. At present, your draft has few if any independent journalistic/book/magazine sources about Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program (I can understand that the previous site for the programme is considered notable because it is now on the National Register of Historic Places). Sionk (talk) 21:53, 16 June 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks, Sionk - I appreciate your consideration.
- I'm confused about your saying I don't link to enough independent sources. I linked in the article to a book about the program, an article from the Santa Fe New Mexican, two articles from the Roswell Daily Record, and the website for the Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts, as well as a website about New Mexico architecture. Is that not enough independent journalistic sources? I think I only included two links to the program's website within the text itself.
- As for being notable enough - there are already Wikipedia pages for two offshoots of the Roswell Artist in Residence program: the Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art, and the so-called Roswell Artist-in-Residence Compound. This last article is factually incorrect, down to the title of the article (the facility is called The Historic Studios at Berrendo Road; the current artist-in-residence compound is elsewhere), but I don't know how to correct it without introducing a page for the program itself. If there are Wikipedia pages for the things the program spawned, this seems to be sufficient proof that the program itself is notable enough to be included, especially since the absence of a Wikipedia page has led to misinformation in the two other articles.
- Another proof of notability: The Roswell Artist in Residence program was one model for the Ucross Foundation, which was founded 14 years later and which has its own Wikipedia entry, which you have worked on. Many of the 300 fellows of the RAiR program have made notable careers; many of them have Wikipedia pages, which I've linked to.
- I would really appreciate your guidance here. I don't care if I write the page or someone else does - I just want the information on Wikipedia to be correct. Classicalbeat (talk) 16:12, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
- If Roswell Artist-in-Residence Compound is now known as something else, the best thing to do would be to make your argument for a page name change, at Talk:Roswell Artist-in-Residence Compound. From what I can see, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as "Roswell Artist-in-Residence Compound".
- As for the sources cited in your draft article, the book looks like a good source - can you make more use of it? The fact that the Roswell AiR won a New Mexico Governor’s 'Award for Excellence in the Arts' is a good sign too. But the information in your draft about the residency, is cited to the residency's own website. The information in "History" is about the Compound (which already has a Wikipedia article). Sources [11] to [17] are about former participants, not the Air program. In my view the proposed article needs more shoring-up with independent reliable sources about the AiR program. Sionk (talk) 20:26, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
- Got it. Thank you for your guidance. I'll add some more independent sources and perhaps trim some of the artists' websites -- I thought showing the success of the artists would demonstrate the importance of the program, but perhaps that was misguided.
- And I'll appeal to the Talk page of the Compound article as well.
- I appreciate your helping out a newbie! Classicalbeat (talk) 17:12, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
