Citing events held at venues - advice?

edit

Hoping someone can help - looking for advice on best practice when citing the kinds of events held at venues. For example, a (council-run) theatre local to me is used as a venue every year during a couple of (council-run) city-wide festivals. The "Venues" URL on the festival website aren't indexed by year, so a citation to that page would only bring up that particular year, or might not be populated outwith festival times; and referencing individual gig reviews could easily end up in over-referencing. Ideally I want a source which says "X theatre is / has been a venue during Y festival", but I'm wondering if anyone else has come across this issue, and if so what their approach was? Perhaps it's best to say "X theatre has played host to various artists including A, B & C", citing gig reviews for A, B & C? Lirazelf (talk) 11:47, 18 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Concert listings

edit

Has there been a consensus anywhere about listing upcoming concerts? At Levi's Stadium and others, an editor has been adding concerts three months in the future. Seems kind of spammy and promotional. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 20:15, 23 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Use of England, Scotland, etc. vs UK in concert articles

edit

There is currently a discussion at the Project Concert talk page regarding the use of the countries of the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland) versus the UK in concert articles. Since lists and tables of concerts appear in some event venue articles, interested editors may add comments there. —Ojorojo (talk) 16:58, 13 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Camp Nou and the (in)significance of the Spotify deal

edit

Over at the Camp Nou article, I have to say I was unaware that Spotify had paid hundreds of millions of dollars for naming rights. As I checked into it, I saw that most sources still simply call the place Camp Nou. I then moved the Spotify naming rights bit out of the lead and into the body of the article. Just wanted to check with this forum to ask if anyone has a strong feeling either way on this. Fred Zepelin (talk) 21:45, 17 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Forgot to mention, the deal is for 4 years (2022-2026), which I just added to the article. Fred Zepelin (talk) 22:02, 17 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
