Sorry its a PNG but I don't have Microsoft Animator. ~~ ĈőмρǖтέŗĠύʎ890100 (t ↔ Ĕ ↔ ώ) Review me! 00:16, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
- It's really good, but animator would definetly. If anyone has animator, it could read: Do you love Ichiro?, then: Do you bleed Mariners navy?, and finally: So come join WikiProject Seattle Mariners today! Meisfunny Gab How was I? 17:22, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
- Er, there's a typo in the ad... it says, "Mariniers", while it is supposed to be spelled, "Mariners". I have no experience with images... so someone else would have to fix that. Thanks, RyRy (talk) 02:05, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Invitation to banner discussion
Hi everyone, you are invited to comment on a discussion regarding a "converged" banner template for baseball projects. The discussion is located here. —Borgardetalk 12:47, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
Invitation method
Hey there, I thought of a method of who to invite to our project that will most likely join our project: Look through Baseball WikiProject's participants list and see if any of them have some specialties or interest in the Seattle Mariners. After that, go to their talk page and invite them. The list is pretty long, yet, convenient, so I assure you we'll be able to find a few contributers to join our project. -- RyRy (talk) 02:36, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- I did that about a month ago. There might be newbies, but everyone I asked joined. Looking at page transclusions for {{User:UBX/MLB-SEA}} helps too. Meisfunny Gab How was I? 21:10, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Meisfunny retired
Since Meisfunny (talk · contribs) retired, I volunteer to take over the reigns here. --Admrboltz (talk) 22:46, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
- I'm sorry you guys. Good luck to you all and especially you Admrboltz, go right ahead. Meisfunny Gab RETIRED 15:20, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Wikipedia 0.7 articles have been selected for Seattle Mariners
Wikipedia 0.7 is a collection of English Wikipedia articles due to be released on DVD, and available for free download, later this year. The Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team has made an automated selection of articles for Version 0.7.
We would like to ask you to review the articles selected from this project. These were chosen from the articles with this project's talk page tag, based on the rated importance and quality. If there are any specific articles that should be removed, please let us know at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.7. You can also nominate additional articles for release, following the procedure at Wikipedia:Release Version Nominations.
A list of selected articles with cleanup tags, sorted by project, is available. The list is automatically updated each hour when it is loaded. Please try to fix any urgent problems in the selected articles. A team of copyeditors has agreed to help with copyediting requests, although you should try to fix simple issues on your own if possible.
We would also appreciate your help in identifying the version of each article that you think we should use, to help avoid vandalism or POV issues. These versions can be recorded at this project's subpage of User:SelectionBot/0.7. We are planning to release the selection before December 2008, so we ask you to select the revisions before October 20. At that time, we will use an automatic process to identify which version of each article to release, if no version has been manually selected. Thanks! For the Wikipedia 1.0 Editorial team, SelectionBot 16:15, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
Coordinators' working group
Hi! I'd like to draw your attention to the new WikiProject coordinators' working group, an effort to bring both official and unofficial WikiProject coordinators together so that the projects can more easily develop consensus and collaborate. This group has been created after discussion regarding possible changes to the A-Class review system, and that may be one of the first things discussed by interested coordinators.
All designated project coordinators are invited to join this working group. If your project hasn't formally designated any editors as coordinators, but you are someone who regularly deals with coordination tasks in the project, please feel free to join as well. — Delievered by §hepBot (Disable) on behalf of the WikiProject coordinators' working group at 06:30, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.
If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.
Message sent by User:Addbot to all active wiki projects per request, Comments on the message and bot are welcome here.

Stats Updates
This is really random but I was wondering if someone could take the time out to update the hitting and pitching stats on the 2009 Seattle Mariner Season page. I am a student at the University of Washington and am on a study abroad program called Semester At Sea and our ship gets limited internet. One of the sites we can access is Wikipedia so it is essentially my only way to get Mariner updates. It would be amazing if someone could take time out to do this, I will be back in a month or so and hopefully interning for the mariners organization so I need a little background info on this season before I go in for the interview and discuss the team with the big guys in the board room, LOL. The game updates so far have been wonderful and greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for all your help and GO M'S!!!
P.S. I cant wait to get back and see Griffey in a Mariners uniform! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.7.144.62 (talk) 05:00, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
- I'll do my best to update the player stats but that probably won't happen until the end of May. I figure a monthly stats update makes more sense than haphazard updating whenever someone sees fit. KuyaBriBriTalk 18:26, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Just a quick note on an audio file of interest
I have uploaded the 1995 AL Division Series Winning call, and have written up a fair use rationale and put it in the Dave Niehaus article, but I thought you guys might have more uses for it, so here is a link to the audio file: File:Dave Niehaus Winning Call 1995 AL Division Series.ogg hope you find good use for it --Gold Man60 Talk 05:28, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Hey guys, I've just reformatted and expanded the list of seasons, but as only a casual Mariners fan I'd you guys to take a look at it (particularly the lead, which I threw together pretty quickly) before I send it to WP:FLC. You might want to glance at the similar FLs on the topic: Diamondbacks, Red Sox, Mets, Yankees, Phillies, Cardinals, Rays, and the Blue Jays. Thanks in advance! --McMillin24 contribstalk 02:49, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Hey guys, just to let you know I created a Tyson Gillies page. Help me out by expanding it... --Halvorsen brian (talk) 03:33, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
Seattle Mariners player profiles
Just so you guys know, I was just doing some maintenance on the Seattle Mariner player profiles, including those in the Mariners minor league system. I should be able to finish that up at least after school tomorrow. – Michael (talk) 04:48, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
- Very good work. --Brian Halvorsen (talk) 01:50, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
WP 1.0 bot announcement
This message is being sent to each WikiProject that participates in the WP 1.0 assessment system. On Saturday, January 23, 2010, the WP 1.0 bot will be upgraded. Your project does not need to take any action, but the appearance of your project's summary table will change. The upgrade will make many new, optional features available to all WikiProjects. Additional information is available at the WP 1.0 project homepage. — Carl (CBM · talk) 03:53, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
José López (baseball) promotion effort

Unreferenced living people articles bot
User:DASHBot/Wikiprojects provides a list, updated daily, of unreferenced living people articles (BLPs) related to your project. There has been a lot of discussion recently about deleting these unreferenced articles, so it is important that these articles are referenced.
The unreferenced articles related to your project can be found at >>>Wikipedia:WikiProject Baseball/Seattle Mariners/Archive 1/Unreferenced BLPs<<<
If you do not want this wikiproject to participate, please add your project name to this list.
Thank you.
- Update: Wikipedia:WikiProject Baseball/Seattle Mariners/Archive 1/Unreferenced BLPs has been created. This list, which is updated by User:DASHBot/Wikiprojects daily, will allow your wikiproject to quickly identify unreferenced living person articles.
- There maybe no or few articles on this new Unreferenced BLPs page. To increase the overall number of articles in your project with another bot, you can sign up for User:Xenobot_Mk_V#Instructions.

Sports Notability
There is discussion ongoing at Wikipedia_talk:BIO#RFC:_WP:Athlete_Professional_Clause_Needs_Improvement debating possible changes to the WP:ATHLETE notability guideline. As a result, some have suggested using WP:NSPORT as an eventual replacement for WP:ATHLETE. Editing has begun at WP:NSPORT, please participate to help refine the notability guideline for the sports covered by this wikiproject. —Joshua Scott (LiberalFascist) 03:24, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
Matt Mangini and Jeff Dominguez
I just created pages for Matt Mangini and Jeff Dominguez. All I put on there were the infobox, where they were born, when they were drafted, the references and the categories. I need one of you guys to pick up where I left off put his college career if they played college baseball and pro career on there because to be honest I'm really that good at that stuff. It's like I put something down and it doesn't make much sense. – Michael (talk) 04:16, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
Seattle Mariners articles have been selected for the Wikipedia 0.8 release
Version 0.8 is a collection of Wikipedia articles selected by the Wikipedia 1.0 team for offline release on USB key, DVD and mobile phone. Articles were selected based on their assessed importance and quality, then article versions (revisionIDs) were chosen for trustworthiness (freedom from vandalism) using an adaptation of the WikiTrust algorithm.
We would like to ask you to review the Seattle Mariners articles and revisionIDs we have chosen. Selected articles are marked with a diamond symbol (♦) to the right of each article, and this symbol links to the selected version of each article. If you believe we have included or excluded articles inappropriately, please contact us at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8 with the details. You may wish to look at your WikiProject's articles with cleanup tags and try to improve any that need work; if you do, please give us the new revisionID at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8. We would like to complete this consultation period by midnight UTC on Monday, October 11th.
We have greatly streamlined the process since the Version 0.7 release, so we aim to have the collection ready for distribution by the end of October, 2010. As a result, we are planning to distribute the collection much more widely, while continuing to work with groups such as One Laptop per Child and Wikipedia for Schools to extend the reach of Wikipedia worldwide. Please help us, with your WikiProject's feedback!

WikiProject cleanup listing
I have created together with Smallman12q a toolserver tool that shows a weekly-updated list of cleanup categories for WikiProjects, that can be used as a replacement for WolterBot and this WikiProject is among those that are already included (because it is a member of Category:WolterBot cleanup listing subscriptions). See the tool's wiki page, this project's listing in one big table or by categories and the index of WikiProjects. Svick (talk) 21:12, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Collaboration idea
So, now that the project has been re-born, why don't we start a collaboration? And where better to start then at the beginning. I recently updated the colors in the inaugural navbox → {{1977 Seattle Mariners}}. Maybe we should work on all of the players (I have started with Dan Meyer (first baseman)) and the 1977 Seattle Mariners season article. GA status goal for all of them should be reasonable. Any thoughts? --Brian Halvorsen (talk) 06:18, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
Featured articles
Just so you know, this is going to be a space where GA and FA class content will be featured, as well as DYKs, etc. You can see how it looks by going to Wikipedia:WikiProject New York State routes/Recognized content. The bot runs weekly on Sundays, so this will be blank until then. --Admrboltz (talk) 21:58, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
- Very good work. Now all we have to do is get to work on promoting them. Haha. --Brian Halvorsen (talk) 22:23, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
- Well I take credit for List of Seattle Mariners Opening Day starting pitchers :p --Admrboltz (talk) 22:35, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
John Ellis
I've been disambiguating baseball articles for a few days, and have been surprised to see there doesn't seem to be an article for Mariners exec/chairman emeritus John Ellis. I guess the right title style would be John Ellis (baseball executive). There is an existing article at John Ellis (baseball) for an older player, and the redirect John Ellis (baseball player) goes there. I guess John Ellis (baseball) ought to be made into a dab page and existing links to the player should go to the (baseball player) version.
Any objections or thoughts? Woodshed (talk) 20:27, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
Comment on the WikiProject X proposal
Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:48, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
WikiProject X is live!

Hello everyone!
You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.
