Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Ace China

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Ace China, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your draft

edit

Hello Xzit49. As promised, i have finally managed to read and make a couple of comments on your draft. I'll number them, maybe make it easier to follow:

  1. My first and probably most important comment is one i think i mentioned before: I'm not sure what is is about this person which makes him notable enough for an article ~ everything about him seems very vague and nebulous: What is a real estate strategist, what does he do, why is it (and he) important?
  2. Two or three of the references when i click on them go to 404 errors or non-useful pages on the relevant websites, so i can't verify what is written
  3. The references i was able to get to and read seem (to me) largely promotional; i may be wrong (i am not a content expert by any means), but i suspect that they are not sufficient to establish Ace China's notability or to support an article about him which is not tainted with advertising
  4. There are a couple of minor formatting points ~ the titles of newspapers in English are put in italics ~ like this: The Guardian, which you get like this ''The Guardian'' ~ rather than with asterisks are you have currently, and i suspect his birth name would normally be bolded in the opening sentence, too
  5. You probably don't need phrases like "as reported by..." when you have the appropriate newspaper in the citation; it is understood that what we are doing is saying (in our own words) what they have reported, and our references prove it
  6. It doesn't have to happen immediately, but i would think that there are a number of terms in the article that could be made into links to other articles

I hope that this response doesn't feel too negative to you; i'm certainly not trying to be that way or to discourage you, but i wouldn't be doing you any favours if i sugar-coated what i see as issues with the article. If you are convinced that my assessment of Ace China is wrong, that he is both notable and written about enough to support an article, i urge you to continue to develop it ~ i'm still happy to help or offer suggestions if you like ~ in your userspace before offering it as an article. In the meantime, i also suggest that you try small edits elsewhere in the encyclopaedia, to see how we do things and to get the hang of it and to begin to feel like a full member of the community (i know it took me several months and several score edits before i felt i "properly belonged") ~ LindsayHello 09:20, 4 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Feedback
The reviewer, Mcmatter, left the following feedback:
This draft is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Wikipedia's verifiability policy requires that all content be supported by reliable sources.
  • Reliable sources include: reputable newspapers, magazines, academic journals, and books from respected publishers.
  • Unacceptable sources include: personal blogs, social media, predatory publishers, most tabloids, and websites where anyone can contribute.
Replace any unreliable sources with high-quality sources. If you cannot find a reliable source for the material, it should be removed.
This draft's references do not show that the subject meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion for music. The draft requires either:

or multiple published secondary sources that:

  • provide significant coverage: discuss the subject in detail, not just brief mentions or routine announcements;
  • are reliable: from reputable outlets with editorial oversight;
  • are independent: not connected to the subject, such as interviews, press releases, the subject's own website, or sponsored content.

Please add references that meet these criteria. If none exist, the subject is not yet suitable for Wikipedia.

It is often easier to prove the notability of an album or artist than an individual song or band member. If the subject is not yet notable, consider improving a relevant existing article instead.

Next steps

  • Edit Draft:Multilord to address the points above, making sure to publish any changes.
  • When you are ready to resubmit your draft for review, click the Resubmit button.
  • If you do not edit your draft in the next 6 months, it may be deleted.
