Notification of New Start

edit

Since I forgot not only the password but also the username of the previous account, and even the e-mail was not connected to it, I had to create this new one. I'd like to correct the errors or typos mainly. Upset New Bird (talk) 04:22, 6 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Yes, that's the normal way to handle those situations. There's no problem with creating a new account after you've lost access to an old one.  jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 02:13, 7 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Jmcgnh: Also, since I'm starting fresh with this account, I'm going to treat it like it's my first time here. Upset New Bird (talk) 02:32, 7 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
I think maybe you blew up that possibility already, but we'll take your efforts to participate in the magnificent project of building an encyclopedia in whatever spirit you want to bring to them.  jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 02:38, 7 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Jmcgnh: I wish that you and I could be friends and partners on English Wikipedia. What do you think? Upset New Bird (talk) 02:42, 7 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm happy to help whenever I can, but I'm not signing up for a mentor relationship, sorry. I'm mostly available on IRC channel #wikipedia-en-help and I've become a relatively minor contributor even there.  jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 20:35, 7 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Italian transcription

edit

I don't know what the reverter meant by correcting pronunciation, but the corrections should have been made because square brackets [ ] signal phonetic representation, whereas the tables are labeled phonemes. Barefoot through the chollas (talk) 01:42, 22 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

@Barefoot through the chollas: Then you can contact to them by commenting to the reverter's talk page. Upset New Bird (talk) 01:47, 22 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
No need, since the reversion solved the problem. I did butt in, though, to try to calm things down a bit. FWIW, the various discussions of this are better held on the article's talk page. Barefoot through the chollas (talk) 02:21, 22 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Notification of Wikibreak

edit

I'm declaring a wikibreak for short days from now, except my sandbox. Upset New Bird (talk) 12:33, 22 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Good move. One thing to consider is to be sure to have a solid understanding of the (often "technical") fundamentals of the topic immediately at hand before editing. For the Italian phonology tables labeled phonemes, that means a clear conceptualization of what a phoneme is, and (thus) that a list of phonemes is not intended to, and does not, in itself report the (allo)phones of actual pronunciation. E.g., phoneme /n/ is rightly reported as simply phoneme n. Elsewhere in the article the most frequent phonetic realizations (and their conditioning environments) are reported ([n], [m], [ɱ], [ŋ]). Make sure you really know what you're dealing with and you'll be able to contribute some valuable edits. Barefoot through the chollas (talk) 15:18, 22 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Your submission at Articles for creation: Mobile software content rating system (August 8)

edit
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Robert McClenon was:
Thank you for your submission, but the subject of this article already exists in Wikipedia. You can find it and improve it at Mobile software content rating system instead.
The comment the reviewer left was:
It is not clear to this review why this draft has been submitted. If it is being submitted as a proposed replacement for the existing article, that is not what Articles for Creation is for. If you want to make updates or upgrades to the existing article, that can be done by normal editing with discussion on the article talk page.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contribution(s). However, as a general rule, while user talk pages permit a small degree of generalisation, other talk pages such as Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film are strictly for discussing improvements to their associated main pages, and many of them have special instructions on the top. They are not a general discussion forum about the article's topic or any other topic. If you have questions or ideas and are not sure where to post them, consider asking at the Teahouse. Thanks. Notification: I'd like to get some help for my unofficial project

edit

Hello. I am currently working on a personal project called "Rating System Overhaul Project." (This is unofficial, and I'm working on it in a subpage of my user sandbox.)

My goal is to organize the rating system documents for movies, TV shows, games, mobile software, and more into a more consistent structure, clarify terminology explanations and comparison tables, and present rating systems from various countries around the world in a more balanced manner. If anyone is interested or would like to share opinions on related fields, even light advice or feedback would be greatly helpful.

This is not a formal project, and there are no obligations or burdens for participation. It's perfectly fine if you just think, "Oh, someone's doing this kind of work." Thanks! Upset New Bird (talk) 08:09, 17 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

The Help Me tag is for asking a specific question, not for a general request. For that you should use the Help Desk, or possibly talk to a couple WikiProjects (Wikipedia:WikiProject Film). 331dot (talk) 09:16, 17 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
@331dot: OK! I'll be careful of that. Upset New Bird (talk) 09:31, 17 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:51, 18 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
