Hello, I'm Cosmic840. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. ~ŤheŴubṂachine-840≈ ● ✒️ 22:26, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits that could be considered controversial. I believe you have a registered account but made your edits while logged out from it. Please be mindful Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts prohibits editors from using alternate accounts (including temporary ones) to mislead, deceive, disrupt, or undermine consensus as detailed at Wikipedia:Sockpuppetry § Inappropriate uses of alternative accounts. You can avoid issues related to this by making sure you are logged in before editing. sock of Special:Contributions/~2026-30027-50 ~ŤheŴubṂachine-840≈ ● ✒️ 22:34, 19 May 2026 (UTC)

Hello, Tjcw01, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as JRaven2000 (talk · contribs). Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who misuse multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections before editing further. Thank you. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 22:35, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I wanted to let you know that your user subpage at User:Tjcw01 may not meet Wikipedia's user page guidelines. It is intended for basic information about yourself and your interests, your goals related to editing Wikipedia, and disclosures of conflicts of interest and paid editing. Although a lot of freedom is allowed in personalizing your user page, it is not:
- an encyclopedia article (and should not be styled to look like one)
- a workspace for a draft article
- a personal website, blog, or social media site
- a space for self-promotion or other advertising
- a CV, resumé, or lengthy autobiography
The user page guidelines have additional information on what is and what is not considered acceptable content. Please use your user sandbox or the draft article space to practice editing or to create new articles. Thank you. ~ŤheŴubṂachine-840≈ ● ✒️ 14:37, 25 May 2026 (UTC)

Message
editYou said here that you could not see the message I left. It was the large welcome at the top of this page, with a number of links to help you find information to start. Also I replied on User talk:Tjcw01/sandbox.
I notice that actually you are the author of all the related links on User:Tjcw01/sandbox. Please note Wikipedia is not a place to promote your own work, it is for encyclopedic articles on notable subjects, which is defined here as having significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by KylieTastic (talk • contribs) 09:49, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
I am trying very hard not to be self-promotional (and in any case I have no intention of causing anyone to pay any money for anything) . I didn't sign my comments because I was on a phone at the time and couldn't remember my password, but I did leave my name every time and I said I was the author. Hoping you all will tell me what I need to do to get my page published, and taking it slowly because this is the first time in ages that I have written for Wikipedia. Would any of you like a USB key to try out ? I can send 4 with me paying for the hardware and the postage; as far as I am concerned you may then use them and/or copy them and send them on to someone else. If you then write something about them, that will be the independent articles you want. Tjcw01 (talk) 05:50, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
- Well, that's not helping the discussion here, and it appears to be a NOTHERE situation. ~ŤheŴubṂachine-840≈ ● ✒️ 09:03, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
- I already told you what is required to get an article accepted - the subject must be notable see Wikipedia:Notability#General_notability_guideline. As an IBM researcher and engineer you should easily be able to understand these and how your article fundamentally fails to show any notability with only primary sources. There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#c-SenshiSun-20260520134400-User:Tjcw01 is WP:NOTHERE, implies they may conduct meatpuppetry in the future SenshiSun (talk) 13:46, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
No, we can't write you sources...
editYou seem to have gotten some basic facets about notability backwards. Wikipedia editors do not write sources for the purpose of having another source to add to the page. It would be like adding 1,000 empty lines in a table to boost a data processing ratio-- no new information would be added to the system. If independent journalists decide to cover a subject in detail, then you have sources. Article writers are usually advised to find sources first and write based on those.
If Bob told you otherwise, Bob is wrong. SenshiSun (talk) 22:05, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia and why your article is inappropriate
editTjcw01 - first off, welcome to Wikipedia. I understand you're probably overwhelmed from the myriad of users that are trying to talk to you at the same time about your new article. I'm hoping to try to get through to you about why it's inappropriate for you to be here. Understand, first of all, that part of the reason you are not understanding why your article is inappropriate is because you're so very closely tied to the subject of the article. The article is about your tools that you wrote. I understand you're passionate and you want people to know about it. That's not what Wikipedia is for. We are not the place to tell people about your tools - whether you are charging money for them or not.
You see, Wikipedia covers topics that are notable. Things that the rest of the world has already acknowledged as notable. Because either books have been written about the topic, or news articles, or magazines, interviews, etc. We aren't a publisher of new information. We cover topics that are already covered elsewhere.
You should know that it doesn't matter who you ask to post on your behalf. At this time, your topic is not appropriate, in any way whatsoever, for Wikipedia - no matter who posts it. I can go into details with you on why, but it'll involve a lot of reading on your part about Wikipedia policies and guidelines regarding notability, verifiability, and our general inclusion guidelines.
At this time, I would like you to consider editing a topic related to something you care about. Something you aren't connected to. Maybe find a topic on Linux to write about. But do not write anymore about your tools.--v/r - TP 22:11, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hi Tjcwo1! Absolutely agree with the above, I would totally recommend finding topics that you, personally, are interested in. For me, I like looking up things I enjoy on Google and then going down rabbit holes before I find something to write. I would suggest you do the same =) – LuniZunie(talk) 01:29, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
Is this suitable as an independently-authored article ? https://linux.slashdot.org/story/05/12/21/227239/run-linux-as-a-windows-screensaver#comments How many more independently-authored articles do I need to collect ? If I can manage that, it seems that I then need to hand off to another independent and real person to revise my markdown, and then Wikipedia will take a serious look at the possibility of publishing. Have I understood that right ? Tjcw01 (talk) 12:10, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
- No. That is a forum discussion wherein the topic is your work at IBM. Forum discussions and social media posts are usually not admissable as sources on Wikipedia. Electricmemory (talk) 12:17, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
- In addition, you continue to state you will use family members or other close friends to review or edit for you. This is considered meatpuppetry and is expressly prohibited. Your account is for your use and yours alone. Also, Wikipedia is not a place for guides or instructions, which is what your article was when it was published. Electricmemory (talk) 12:20, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
- OK, I will try a more hands-off approach, If you would like me to write for Wikipedia, please ping me a topic and I'll read up about it before writing Tjcw01 (talk) 14:01, 24 May 2026 (UTC)

- Many new editors believe that to contribute to Wikipedia they have to create a new article. That is actually not the best way of spending your time here – creating articles is almost the hardest thing you can do, and it is usually better to learn how to edit Wikipedia by contributing to one of the existing articles, about some topic that interests you. --bonadea contributions talk 20:57, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
