Excessive citations in Soviet plunder

edit

Just a follow up on why I reverted you. That article has been researched and written by me. I have extensive experience writing on en wiki, with thousands of entries and dozens of GA. While a few sentences use up to 5 citations, this is done to strengthen the claims made, particularly controversial ones, and balance weaker but easy to access source (ex. news media) and harder to access ones (academic articles, offline books). Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 02:34, 9 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

That article already went through a review for Main Page DYK Talk:Soviet_plunder#Did_you_know_nomination and is assessed as B-class by the highly active military wikiproject. All-in-all, I think it is close to a GA-level quality, and I don't think it has excessive citations, although I do agree it is borderline close to the maximum reasonable limit for them per sentence. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 02:41, 9 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I see. I saw the rejected draft and agreed the review's view, but your response makes sense. I think I will have a talk with the reviewer about the rejection of excessive citations. Saimmx (talk) 06:30, 9 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

GOCE Request for List of longest rivers of China

edit

Hi! I've taken up your request for this article, and I wish to clarify this aspect:

Rivers in China can originate from three main regions: Southeast of Tibetan Plateau, where most longest rivers in China origined; the corridor between Da Hinggan Range, Hebei and Shanxi mountains, Western Henan mountains, and Yunnan–Guizhou Plateau - rivers here generally have relatively small discharges; and the corridor between Changbai Mountain, Shandong hills, and southeastern coastal ranges - rivers origins here are generally has shorter and smaller drainage basins than the former two, but carry abundant water.

Which sentences here are connected? Is the Tibetan plateau part related to the next sentence? Knowing this for the rest of the sentences would help me structure it better. In the meantime, I will still copy edit it based on what I think TNM101 (chat) 07:33, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Here's the original sentence: "中华人民共和国境内河流起源自三大不同地带:青藏高原的东南缘,源自此处的河流源远流长;大兴安岭-冀晋山地-豫西山地-云贵高原连线地区,这些河流的水流量通常较小;长白山地-山东丘陵-东南沿海山地连线地区,河川长度和流域都不及前两地,但水量丰沛。"
Google Translate translated the sentence as: "Rivers within the territory of the People's Republic of China originate from three different regions: the southeastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, where rivers have long and extensive course; the region connecting the Greater Khingan Mountains, the Hebei-Shanxi Mountains, the western Henan Mountains, and the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, where rivers typically have smaller flow rates; and the region connecting the Changbai Mountains, the Shandong Hills, and the southeastern coastal mountains, where rivers are shorter and have smaller drainage basins than the previous two regions, but have abundant water volume."
If you ask me, I will say the Tibetan plateau part is connected to the two corridors, but you may want to have some clearify about "connected". Thanks. Saimmx (talk) 07:30, 12 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Please check the article, I have completed my copyedit TNM101 (chat) 14:09, 12 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

On 31 May 2026, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Taiwan.md, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that AI agents built the initial structure of a Taiwanese open knowledge base in 24 hours? You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Taiwan.md), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed.
