Janis Joplin

I just wanted to leave you a note to first, thank you for the addition of citations for this article. The other thing I wanted to note was that you don't have to repeat the complete citations for references that aren't already there. For example, I condensed the Ellis Amburn references and all you need do to repeat it is type <ref name="amburn"/>. I really really want to urge you to use the preview button to double check your edits before saving them. It is far less work on the server, and is much easier for others who come along to go back over edit history and reference and fact checking. Thanks. You haven't tried my patience, I'm very glad you've stepped up with the sources you have to put them in the article. I don't have the books you do and it's greatly appreciated. I hope you've gotten a bit of a handle on how some of the more routine things are done on Wikipedia and you continue to contribute. The suggestion is to explain every edit. Sourcing is great, but other editors would like to know why the change is being made. Otherwise, we have to try to read minds, and the purpose behind a change isn't always clear. I've been doing it pretty much since I started 21 years ago, so I'm not asking anyone to do something I don't already do. In my opinion, it is the cooperative/professional approach to public editing.
