Hello, Pam Sheyne, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I noticed that you have expressed an interest in working on Pam Sheyne, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, which will be reviewed by other editors. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If a page you create gets deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Your submission at Articles for creation: Pam Sheyne (February 11)

edit
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reasons left by Theroadislong were:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Your draft shows signs of having been generated by a large language model, such as ChatGPT. Wikipedia guidelines prohibit the use of LLMs to write articles from scratch. In addition, LLM-generated articles usually have multiple quality issues, to include:
Please address these issues. The best way is usually to read reliable sources and summarize them, instead of using a large language model. See our help page on large language models.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit it after they have been resolved.

Hi, I need some assistance please. I have had a Wiki page for many years (I believe for over 10) and for reasons above my draft was not accepted. Draft:Pam Sheyne. I don't understand what I need to do to remediate the issues and need an experienced editor to help me resolve it as I don't want it to be deleted. Can you help me? Thank you Pam Sheyne (talk) 22:50, 13 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi Pam, I saw your request for help at the AfC Helpdesk so I have pinged an editor to the draft's talk page who specializes in covering women in the music industry.. No promises, of course. It depends on her time and if there are qualifying sources available that meets the guidelines but worth a shot. S0091 (talk) 20:09, 19 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hi, thanks so much for your response and reaching out again, I appreciate it. I haven't edited anything, this page has been up for over 10 years as is by somebody else. I enquired because I wanted to add to my page that I am now a Grammy nominated songwriter this year but I am awaiting certification via The Recording Academy and will not receive that for a few weeks until applications open. I am not an editor and it's not clear what specific changes are needed. This page was created long before AI so not sure why ChatGPT created it when it was created long before AI and ChatGPT. If someone is able to help me edit/resolve the specific issues on the page I am happy to work with them. Pam Sheyne (talk) 00:30, 22 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hi Pam (and hello S0091)!! I edited the draft and added some citations, but, as you'll see in my edit summaries, there are very few sources that cover the details of your life and career, and without any biographical information (or corroboration for your work as a vocalist), the article is a laundry list of your accomplishments. Meaning it reads like promotion. (The only sales and chart statistics that should be included are for the enormo-hits.)
I left specific notes about content that can be added related to credits and your awards. You will need to add references! Give this guidance a read for more info. Once the references are added I will (happily) publish the article. Thanks for your perseverance. JSFarman (talk) 18:51, 22 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Pam, I know it is frustrating to have an article then all of sudden it's gone. Over time Wikipedia's standards have become more strict so what passed a decade ago may not pass today and you will certainly see existing articles that do not. This one caught the eye of an editor who moved it to a draft rather than nominating it for deletion, which is generally what happens and chances are had that happened it would have been deleted (poof!). And ChatGPT did not create it as it (or any other chatbot) cannot by themselves create or edit anything here. It takes a human to add the content. I think that part of the decline was because it was written like it was created by a chatbot due to the overly promotional language/content.
This one is frustrating because it is clear you are accomplished but that does not always translate into WP:notability based on Wikipedia's definitions. Articles live and die based on independent (i.e. not interviews or what those affiliated say) in-depth coverage published by reliable sources about a topic, in this case you. Without that, it is tough haul. Do take a look at the notes @JSFarman left for you in the draft (and thank you for digging in JSF). Don't worry too much about formatting sources. If they are on-line, just link them. And congrats on your Grammy nom. Once you have a source, you can add it to the draft. There's no WP:deadline. S0091 (talk) 21:23, 22 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hi, I wanted to thank you both so much for your detailed response and recommendations, it is so truly appreciated! I will will definitely check out your notes and see if there are any links I can add. Will reach out if I can find and add those. Best wishes Pam Sheyne (talk) 21:27, 23 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hey, hope you are well. I'm reaching out as I was approached by Global Wiki publishers who Have offered to resolve my Wiki page issues for a fee as I've not been able to do it on my own. Just wanted to know if this is a scam or they are officially able to do this for me. Do you know? As you've helped me before I wanted to be sure. Thanks so much! Best Pam Pam Sheyne (talk) 22:00, 1 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hi Pam. Scam. Very common! So glad you checked. (There are only a few legit companies (that I'm aware of) and it is very unlikely that any of them would contact the subject of an article that was declined.) JSFarman (talk) 22:21, 1 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
