Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Judy Kuhn, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page West End. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Emergency (upcoming film) (December 10)

edit
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Platonk was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of films). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
At this time, film does not pass notability standards for an upcoming film or for a film in general. See WP:NFF and WP:NFILM. Editors should probably wait until the film is released and film reviews have been written. Per WP:NFSOURCES, "Press releases, even if they are reprinted by sources unrelated to the production, are not considered independent."
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

Please carefully read this information:

A community discussion has authorised the use of general sanctions for pages related to Michael Jackson.
The specific details of these sanctions are described here:-

Broadly, general sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimise disruption in controversial topic areas. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to these topics that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behaviour, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. An editor can only be sanctioned after he or she has been made aware that general sanctions are in effect. This notification is meant to inform you that sanctions are authorised in these topic areas, which you have been editing. It is only effective if it is logged here. Before continuing to edit pages in these topic areas, please familiarise yourself with the general sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.

Your submission at Articles for creation: Champions (2023 film) (December 8)

edit
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Robert McClenon was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of films). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
This draft or article is about an unreleased film. The film notability guideline identifies three stages in the production cycle for films:
  • 1. Planned films that have not begun production (principal photography or animation). These planned films do not satisfy film notability.
  • 2. Films that are confirmed by reliable sources to have begun production, but have not been released. These films are only notable if production itself satisfies general notability in terms of significant coverage. Mere mention of the start of production does not satisfy notability.
  • 3. Films that have been released, whose notability is determined by reception and reviews, or a major notable award for excellence in some aspect of filmmaking.
This film page must be evaluated based on general notability of production.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Amy Madigan "career slump"

edit

Hello! I just wanted to respond to your edits re: Amy Madigan and "career slump". I think it's perfectly acceptable to describe her work post 2008 to this year as a career slump. She was an actress who had a high profile career in the 1980s and 1990s (getting an Academy Award nomination in 1985, acting films like Uncle Buck and Field of Dreams, both in 1989). However she has become almost irrelevant appearing in small roles in minor indie-movies and guest starring for only single episode appearances in a only few series in this past decade.

Now compare her work to that of her husband Ed Harris who has been Emmy-nominated for his recent role in Westworld and has also taken roles in high-profile films such as Mother! (2017), The Lost Daughter (2021) and Top Gun: Maverick (2022). She hasn't gained any media attention until recently for Weapons. Many articles citing her as an actress of the 1980s and 1990s. A blast from the past if you will. She's even talked about having trouble finding high profile projects, example from 2010 in The Los Angeles Times:

"Like so many actresses older than 50, Madigan has had difficulties finding meaningful roles. My husband works a lot more than I do...You know what the situation is. The reality is you have to make your peace with it sometimes even when you have a depressive day, which I still have.”

I hope this better explains the "career slump" description. Yes she's worked semi-consistently but the projects are varied, mostly taking minor guest roles in small indie projects. She hasn't been Oscar, Emmy, Globe nominated since 1990. Thats nearly 40 years ago. Her most high profile awards nomination was for a Critics' Choice Movie Award as part of an Ensemble Award and that was back in 2007 which was almost 20 years ago. The One I Left (talk) 17:14, 13 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I wouldn't disagree her career had a recent period where she did less high-profile work (though she still worked consistently), but lots of actresses over 50 have certainly experienced similar trajectories as hers, and I haven't seen a lot of their Wiki articles specifically citing "slumps"; in any case I think "career slump" is a very specific and subjective bit of phrasing which, especially if someone is using that in a section heading, there should be text underneath supporting that claim. For example, I think the quote of hers you mention here would actually be a good source to use if you wanted to make that claim! After all she can speak to her own career better than any editor can. NathanielTheBold (talk) 02:42, 14 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
Hi! I would be interested to hear the other actresses who you would compare her career to. It's hard to find an actresses who has a career similar to hers. Her most famous film role would most likely be Field of Dreams and that was back in 1989. She hasn't been nominated for a major award in nearly 40 years. Yes, she's been working semi-consistently but not in anything notable. Mostly one of guest spots and direct to DVD indie movies. I did add quotes from Madigan from both The Los Angeles Times from 2010 and The New York Times from 2025, in which she discusses her career slumps or periods where she hasn't been offered any significant roles. Re: section heading, I changed from Career Slump to Career Fluctuations, similar to Kate Winslet's page. The One I Left (talk) 19:12, 18 August 2025 (UTC)Reply

Seeking support for standardizing the use of posters instead of title cards for miniseries articles

edit

I’m reaching out to get your thoughts on a proposal I’ve made regarding the visual standards for miniseries and limited series articles. Currently, MOS:TVIMAGE allows for either a title card or a promotional poster, but common practice has leaned toward title cards by default. This has led to many miniseries articles only using title cards instead of posters.

I am proposing we standardize the use of promotional posters for miniseries articles. The logic is two-fold:

  1. Unlike ongoing series, miniseries have no "Season" articles to house their posters. The poster is the only asset that identifies the cast, setting, and genre at a glance—context a text-based title card lacks.
  2. By standardizing this for miniseries, we remove the need for future "Title Card vs. Poster" discussions like this one.

I’m trying to build consensus to make the guidelines more definitive so editors don't have to keep re-litigating this for other miniseries. If you're interested in supporting this cause, voice out your opinions here. TheVoicelessWriter (talk) 05:10, 25 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
