Your submission at Articles for creation: Kingvention (June 1)

edit
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by JavaHurricane was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of events). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Hello @JavaHurricane Thank you so much for looking into the article. I am struggling to find sources for this events. I have found an extra two or three sources from the press and before I re-submit the article, I wanted to check with you if those would be enough to accept the submission. The event is well present on social media through different fan clubs, youtubers that are "MJ Influencers" and has clearly an impact for the Michael Jackson fan community which I found fascinating MarcelM777 (talk) 04:01, 3 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Make sure you add references that meet all four of these criteria before resubmitting. Learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue. If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
The cited sources does not seem very reliable. Podcasts and blogs without any editorial control are not reliable sources; please remove them. MJVibe does not disclose any authors or editors, and doesn't seem to be referenced by other reliable sources. Also please remove the ChatGPT asterisk formatting **.

Noting the discussion about this draft at User talk:Ca/Archives/2025/July#Draft:Kingvention - Sources I am afraid we have to take the firm stance that without references which meet WP:42 there can be no article.

Notability is permanent. The 2020 event attracted 3,000 attendees, which is not a large number, but this event is the best shot you have at verifying notability. Other years have a comparatively trivial number of attendees.

Even so, the number of attendees, whether great or small, is not the sole arbiter of notability That number simply gives an indication that the press might cover it, or that might otherwise be inherently notable.

I cannot determine any inherent notability, and I see minimal press coverage, much of which appears limited to the Michael Jackson Universe, which is hardly independent.

Information icon Hello, I'm TheWikiholic. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Michael Jackson fandom, but you didn't provide a reliable source. On Wikipedia, it's important that article content be verifiable. If you'd like to resubmit your change with a citation, your edit is archived in the page history. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. TheWikiholic (talk) 11:54, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! I wasn't finished and I see you went back to a version which has structure issues. MarcelM777 (talk) 12:06, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
The content that you added is not supported by independent reliable sources. Social media links and fan websites are not considered reliable sources. As per Wikipedia's policies on reliable sources and verifiability, this content will be removed from the article. TheWikiholic (talk) 13:30, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! I will remove the part I have been editing on the magazines if this is what you are referring to? MarcelM777 (talk) 14:09, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
I have now removed the whole section. I will carry on my research as this is pretty interesting on this matter as I found hundreds of fan magazines and some of them have been so popular they were released nationally or internationally. MarcelM777 (talk) 14:12, 2 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

I would go. It sounds great. But to establish notability, you need extensive coverage via independent, reliable sources.
