Great work with Steward Health Care System! If you have time and/or desire do you think you could look at HCA Healthcare? That article needs some work. QQQspadesQQQ (talk) 18:09, 16 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you so much for your comment!
I just took a look at HCA's article, and I already see a few things I could do to improve the page. That might be my next big article overhaul, and could be fun to learn more about them in the process. Stay tuned and thanks again! Mangocove (talk) 16:01, 18 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

I have sent you a note about a page you started

edit

Hi Mangocove. Thank you for your work on Beth Israel Lahey Health. Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

I agree with your statement that inclusion is "Justified as this is a major health system in Massachusetts", but also that the references support notability. I consider whether a merge of the constituent health systems would be warranted, but note that the other page are actually focused on the hospitals rather than 'health systems' (if I've interpreted the US structure correctly!).

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Klbrain}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

GA nomination of Steward

edit

Hi! I'm Sammi Brie, and I'm a reviewer (and nominator) at WP:GAN. Even though my specialty is broadcasting, I've also been, out of interest, following the Steward docket—I'm from Phoenix and am about 10 miles from one of Steward's hospitals.

I wanted to get your opinion on one of the Good Article criteria before I attempt a review. Criterion #5 suggests that a Good Article be

Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute.

This GAN has been on the clock since May 30, so for about 75% of the length of Steward's pending—and, as you know, incredibly messy—Chapter 11 case. You have been making a Herculean effort to keep the page up to date with the myriad of new developments and have been the lead editor on the page since the GAN. I cannot help but wonder, seeing the day-by-day changes in this case, if the page can reasonably be likely to be stable right now. I want your opinion on this before I proceed to a GA review or possibly a quickfail on stability grounds alone. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 08:47, 23 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you Sammi! You have a great point - the article is being updated a lot for current events, even more so than when I first submitted it for review. I think today I'll retract the request for review for now and resubmit when things calm down. I did not factor stability due to the qualifiers of it being due to edit war/content dispute, but I imagine frequent updates pf this sort also count toward the spirit of that GA criterion.
And thank you so much for your kind words, I'm working hard to make sure this one day meets GA! Mangocove (talk) 16:15, 23 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Great. I'm going to leave some of the comments I'd have flagged in a review after skimming over:
  • Postal abbreviations generally should be avoided in text (MOS:POSTABBR). I see them in some of your captions.
  • The subsection "2020–present: Decline & bankruptcy" likely needs to be split now.
  • There are many references that are incomplete between numbers 139 and 179. None are bare, but some are missing media outlet and date information.
  • Consider adding alt text to your images. It's not required for GA spec, but any motivated editor, in my opinion, should learn how to make a page reasonably accessible.
Hopefully, once some of the dust settles (though I don't see that happening for months the way this bankruptcy is unfolding), this article returns to GAN. I'd be happy to review it at that time. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 16:55, 23 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you so much for the added comments, I'll work on those in the meantime. Mangocove (talk) 17:14, 23 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yeah that's fine, I'm the one who orphaned it through updating the logo used on the page.
If I should have done something about the old file, please provide that guidance. Not sure if this is supposed to mean I did something wrong or if it's just automatic. Mangocove (talk) 18:46, 12 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Invitation to join the Vital Signs campaign

edit

Hello! I saw you add yourself as a participant to the WP:WikiProject Medicine last summer. I wanted to invite you to the Wikipedia:WikiProject Medicine/Vital Signs 2026 campaign, where we're aiming to improve all of our 100 top-importance articles. I saw you're interested in emergency medicine, which might be a match to our blunt trauma article in the list. Already B-class officially, but it's good if it gets some expert eyes.

I'd also like to invite you to add yourself to the newsletter mailing list if you'd like to stay up-to-date with the group. Finally, did you know we have a Collaboration of the Month? Great place to work together with more experienced editors and learn about Wikipedia's guideline for medical editing, such as the one on using recent secondary sources. —Femke 🐦 (talk) 08:59, 27 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
