Draft:Smartclip
editHi MediaKyle. Thank you so much for taking the time to review my draft about Smartclip. You have reviewed the draft before. This time, you declined on the basis that it sounded like an advertisement. I significantly cut down the draft and removed any language that could be seen as promotional. Further, I disclosed on my page that I work at Smartclip. Could you point to specific instances where you believe it reads like an advertisement? I have been trying to get this draft approved for over 9 months, so at this point specific feedback on what needs to change would be most helpful. Thank you in advance for your time.
Draft:Jeffrey Tannenbaum
editHi MediaKyle, I see you removed a duplicate comment from my Draft:Jeffrey_Tannenbaum submission. Thanks for that! Given your interest and expertise in biographies and AfC submissions, I'd welcome any feedback you have. Full disclosure: I submitted the draft on behalf of Mr. Tannenbaum via my work at Beutler Ink. Thanks, Danilo Two (talk) 13:17, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hi there, thanks for reaching out. I just took another look at this draft and went over all your references, and to tell you the truth, my gut instinct is that this fellow isn't notable. With the exception of the very first citation to Bloomberg, the references seem to entirely consist of trivial coverage and press releases. Some of the sources are particularly sketchy, namely Daily Energy Insider and Value Investor Insight... They seem like SEO factories to me. The fact that neither of the companies he founded have an article either isn't a good sign. Typically, for a businessperson to be Wikinotable, they would have some "claim to fame" other than just doing regular business things. There doesn't appear to be anything which sets Mr. Tannenbaum apart from the many other successful entrepreneurs in these fields. I'm not going to decline your draft myself but I would prepare for the possibility that this might be a dead end... All I can say is that I hope you take payment up front :-p -- MediaKyle (talk) 14:04, 21 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hi MediaKyle, thanks for reviewing and offering feedback! Let me see how I can improve the draft based on your insight. Much appreciated. Danilo Two (talk) 14:09, 21 April 2026 (UTC)

West Mabou Beach wording
editI made some recent edits to the West Mabou Beach section to better align the wording with the cited sources. In particular:
- Changed “lobbying” to “community liaison,” which reflects how the role is described in the sources
- Removed wording suggesting a purchase of protected land, as sources refer to a potential lease
- Adjusted phrasing around opposition and impacts to avoid wording not directly supported by the sources
My goal was to ensure the section complies with Wikipedia’s BLP and NPOV standards by closely reflecting what the sources explicitly state.
I’m happy to discuss specific wording if there are concerns with these changes. MediaChex (talk) 11:43, 29 April 2026 (UTC)
Seat of government
editHi MediaKyle,
I didn't know there was such an infobox. Thanks. Glad you liked it.
Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 02:31, 4 May 2026 (UTC)
- No problem, there's just about an infobox for everything :-P ... The main reason I switched it is because the basic infobox forces you to use full image syntax and it's annoying. Thanks for the interesting article, I learned some new things. MediaKyle (talk) 10:15, 4 May 2026 (UTC)
Neutral point of view for "secret weapon"
editHello @MediaKyle, some contributions you have made do not meet the neutrality required to comply with this Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy. For this reason, some content has been modified or removed. Please modify the paragraphs or sections that show a partial point of view, replacing them with a more neutral and objective text in line with what is expected in an encyclopedia. I have removed the {{proposed deletion/dated}} tag from [[:{{{The Intern Group}}}]], which you proposed for deletion. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still think this article should be deleted, please do not add {{proposed deletion}} back to the page. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! Highlights
- Community Protection: Wikimedia Foundation secured Indonesian government’s commitment to user safety, privacy, and content integrity ahead of administrative registration in Indonesia.
- Stronger protections against bots: Wikimedia Foundation is replacing our CAPTCHA with a new approach to detect bad-faith activities without making things harder for users.
- Transparency Report: The Wikimedia Foundation has published its latest Transparency Report. This provides an overview of the work to protect Wikimedia projects and support the volunteer communities who handle the majority of content requests. Our users trust us to protect their identities against unlawful disclosure, and we take this responsibility seriously, granting only 1 of 30 requests for disclosure we received from July to December 2025.

- Reading Challenge: As part of the 25th birthday celebrations, Wikipedia Mobile Apps launched a limited-time feature, the 25-day reading challenge with Baby Globe. This challenge encourages a daily habit of reading one Wikipedia article. The goal is to motivate users to come back to the app regularly.
- Latest experiments: One upcoming experiment is introducing the Incident Reporting System (IRS) to help contributors easily find the right place to seek help when facing harassment or other issues. See all live, upcoming, and completed experiments in Product & Technology.
- Change in how new users are autoconfirmed: The account age for autoconfirmed users will now start from their first edit, not the registration date. This is to avoid exploitation by vandals. This change will only apply to wikis that require at least one edit for autoconfirmation.
- Organized Reading lists: All Wikipedia users with new accounts and those who activated the “automatically enable most beta features” option can now use the reading lists beta feature. This lets you save articles for later reading and keep it organized in one place for easy access.
- Thumbnail size preferences: Default thumbnail size preference for article content is now limited to three sizes: Small (180px), Regular (250px), and Large (400px). This change aims to improve performance and reduce strain on thumbnail services. Current preferences will shift to the nearest new size.
- Wikifunctions: To make the development of Abstract Wikipedia visible, the Foundation is requesting your input: which metrics about Abstract Wikipedia pages do you deem important?
- Tech News: The latest highlights from Tech News weeks 18 and 19 include improvements on Global Watchlist. See also the 62 community submitted tasks that were resolved over the last two weeks.

editJust wanted to thank you, I know we have a disagreement on one article where I'm an inclusionist and you're a deletionist, but I sincerely appreciate your help getting names (somewhat) standardized and that with the islands, coordinates,etc- it's been such a burden digging through old maps because it doesn'tmatter if you're on GeoNB, GC, Google Maps or whatever...each one only names/shows 80% of islands...and it's a different 80% than any other lol so there's been a lot of effort going into figuring out which landmasses are which which, and where names overlap. New Yathrib - Fundy Historian (talk) 15:14, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
- Oh,and File:Spruce Hospital White Tinkers Dinner.png NOAA Chart is one of the sources of names for things like that second "Hospital Island/s" in West Isles Parish, 30km east of the one near St Andrews. New Yathrib - Fundy Historian (talk) 15:20, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for the message, I appreciate it. I'm sorry I was so short with you before on the prison articles, I could've composed myself better there. I've been tidying up the Wikidata side of your island project and I figured I might as well do some work on the articles themselves while I'm at it. How familiar are you with Wikidata? Many of your articles are attached to a blank item created by Pi Bot when a good item already exists for it. I've been merging a bunch of them but some are a bit ambiguous, especially ones like Long Island (Grand Manan) with no CGNDB key or coordinates. If you want to help I can give you some tips on integrating Wikidata into your workflow. All the best, MediaKyle (talk) 15:26, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
- I'm not great with copy/pasting things as a lot is done a phone or similarly horrible device - I have recently learned the "citations" button is now enabled and I try to run it over every article - it tends to format media articles well but not much else. Follow up on Talk:Zain Verjee edit request
editHello MediaKyle. I wanted to follow up on my edit request at Talk:Zain Verjee. I have now confirmed that my shorter May 3rd request replaces the earlier longer one. Each of the four requests includes a direct link to an independent source. The article currently reflects my career only up to 2014 and I would be very grateful if you or another editor could review it when time allows. Thank you so much for your help. Template talk:Weather box
editSee Template talk:Weather box#Collapsible template. CambridgeBayWeather (#1 deranged), Uqaqatigijaa (talk), Huliva 06:43, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
- Please don't. The giant weatherbox is so unsightly. MediaKyle (talk) 10:15, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
- You do know that you are reverting against consensus? The weather box full sized is used in multiple articles and does not make the article unsightly. You could have all the information in the article as prose and then remove or collapse the weather box. But acting against consensus isn't a good idea. CambridgeBayWeather (#1 deranged), Uqaqatigijaa (talk), Huliva 10:48, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
- I don't think there is consensus against collapsing at this particular template. To me it's really just common sense -- it takes up such a huge portion of the article, for something very few readers are actually looking for, so it's practical to collapse it. I don't come after your weatherboxes anywhere else, can't we just leave this one collapsed? MediaKyle (talk) 10:56, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
- Concensus is tight there in the [[Wikipedia:Manual of Style]. As to who want's to see it is something we shouldn't decide on. My understanding is that it interferes with screen readers. So collapsing it causes undue hardship on people who have vision problems. CambridgeBayWeather (#1 deranged), Uqaqatigijaa (talk), Huliva 02:33, 18 May 2026 (UTC)

Article review and draft
editHello MediaKyle. I recently created the article on Polletts Cove-Aspy Fault Wilderness Area, which is a large wilderness area in Cape Breton. I also made the draft Boggy Lake Wilderness Area. - Hi there. I saw this article awhile ago, to tell you the truth I'm not 100% confident in the subject's notability so that's why I didn't review it then. CSD - TransCrypts (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TransCrypts)
editHi!
I saw your CSD notice on my post and I wanted to reach out and learn some more on why I received a CSD on my article. I see that the specific reason stated was promotional. The material that might appear promotional(which is this org's philanthropic efforts) I followed the WP:NEWS & WP:NOTABILITY rules for that criteria. What makes this particular organization notable is its philanthropic efforts, and rather than make any biased claims I simply stated what multiple independent leading news organizations have said. This follows Wikipedia guidelines on stating News. I kept my coverage of the subject matter to numbers and statistics stated across this publications. If an organization has done verified good in this world that should be included in their Wikipedia page and this is something whose precedent has been set in other pages. Examples of other organizations
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paani_Project (an org that builds wells in Pakistan) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patagonia,_Inc. (please see social action section) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cohere (for recognition)
Multiple for profit and non profit organization that have done verifiable good in the world(see WP:VERIFIABLITY) have stuff talking about their philanthropic efforts especially when that note worthy deed is covered by numerous independent publishers. In this orgs case, its philanthropic efforts were recognized by BetaKit(Canada's TechCrunch) multiple times, Forbes, Bloomberg(they brought the founder on a live section on national TV), The Globe and Mail(Canada's WSJ), University of Toronto, San Jose State University, etc.
I would just like to finish off by stating, I spent dozens of hours combing through Wikipedia's various pages on learning how to write my first article. I spent time on Teahouse, I talked to my mentor, I reached out to editors across the community and got multiple opinions on the my work. I got a ton of feedback and I reflected that feedback in the article. I would love to rewrite sections of the article based on your feedback as well.
Please let me know what changes should be reflect. Thank you from one Canadian to another. Greencheckconure (talk) 22:12, 4 June 2026 (UTC)
- The only advice I can offer you is to stop submitting spam to Wikipedia. This is an encyclopedia and not a vessel for promotion. This is the second attempt now at an article for TransCrypts, the last one was speedy deleted and the author blocked. MediaKyle (talk) 22:47, 4 June 2026 (UTC)
- Glad and appreciate you had an unbiased view when reviewing my article. I can't control what other editors do on this site but this was my first attempt at writing an article for TransCrypts. Actions of other editors should are not reason for an article to be constituted Spam. Greencheckconure (talk) 22:57, 4 June 2026 (UTC)
Could you help with BCG requests?
editHi MediaKyle. You helped me with an edit request for BCG back in April. I've posted two additional requests on the Talk page since then that I'm hoping you could take a look at as well, as neither post seems to have attracted editor attention. Any feedback you can offer would be much appreciated. RSP at BCG (talk) 18:14, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for reaching out, I saw your posts before and meant to answer them but it slipped my mind. I will take a look soon and see what I can do for you. Cheers, MediaKyle (talk) 18:59, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
Article accepted
editKyle — Wow. Double wow. Just a quick note that the article on The Bible: A History was accepted. Thanks again for the help getting it there. StephenMM3 (talk) 00:27, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
- My pleasure! That was me who accepted it :-) ... I was just waiting to see what you came up with using the additional reviews. While you're here, which cover image do you think we should use in the infobox? I see several variants. I'll upload it and add it to the article. Thanks, MediaKyle (talk) 00:40, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
- The illustrated version with a black background is the one I've seen most often. It's the paperback edition. The blue cover without much engaging art is the hardback original edition. Thanks again, MediaKyle. StephenMM3 (talk) 02:47, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
Draft Review: Roxana Amed
editKyle - I wanted to know the reasons behind the rejection of Draft:Roxana Amed. You pointed out the draft has content that seems generated with a Large Language Model. I wanted to make clear that I didn't use any such tool to write the content for the article. The starting point for this article was the spanish version (Roxana is a renowed artist from my country, but is living in the US for many years now). I used some tools to help with translating particular phrases (as is permitted in the guidelines, as far as I know), but not to generate content. I also rewrote several places and added many citations after the first review of the draft.
If you could provide some feedback on the sections that need revision or sound too "mechanic" I would glady keep working on them.
Thank you for your time! Swantibes (talk) 16:01, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
Jail Island
editWhile creating it was I was "I bet MediaKyle will find this article and add his silly CGGNDB whatever to it", then I paused and actually went and dug it out myself lol - I won't say you owe me, but I did giggle that you still found it. Would it be possible to template it so it's as easy as just {{tl:CCGNDB|DUAKA}} or whatever? Might increase use if the template could be used at its simplest form. (No way to make template automatically pull GPS I assume, that has to be manually copy/pasted and reformatted? New Yathrib - Fundy Historian (talk) 22:49, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hi there, I did notice that you used the template this time, thanks. It's a good habit to get into, not only to keep the citations consistent but also just in case they change their URL structure someday, we're able to fix every citation across many articles with one edit to the template. I just checked and it turns out you can use unnamed parameters, so your {{cite cgndb|id=DAKUA|name=Jail Island|accessdate=8 June 2026}} can just be {{cite cgndb|DAKUA|Jail Island|8 June 2026}} ... I'm not aware of a way to automatically pull the coordinates, I just copy and paste the template from notepad and then fill in the numbers provided by the CGNDB. I'm always lurking anyways, I don't mind helping out. Let me know if you have any other questions, here to help. Cheers, MediaKyle (talk) 23:09, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
- The issue isn't whether WP will still be here next week, he's literally only ever deleted information from the articles he attacks, never adds, never modifies, always just deletes - and it's always sourced information to boot. Go look at his "Contribs" some time. New Yathrib - Fundy Historian (talk) 15:56, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
- I understand your frustration, I really do. I wouldn't refer to their edits as "attacks", though. In the case of the category, I do think there were a few better ways to go about that, but at the end of the day stuff like this is part of the editorial process. I like to believe that the "right answer" will prevail in the end, in most cases. Please do remember that being right isn't enough... Name-calling turns what was a content dispute into a conduct dispute, and I really don't want to see you dragged to some noticeboard. You've referred to them as an "asshat", "some clown", and a "troll", and even if they were entirely in the wrong with the Fundy Isles thing this would still look bad on you. Such comments in edit summaries are particularly ill-advised, as you can't go back and edit or strike them. I rather like having you around, not many other folks on Wikipedia care about Atlantic Canadian geography this much, please don't go and get yourself blocked. Sometimes it's best to just take a step back for a bit. MediaKyle (talk) 16:06, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
- Tell that to Backyard History etc; again none of these articles are related to me in any way, I'm not a descendent of Hathaway, I don't do the Backyard History thing, I'm just a guy trying to collect the sum of human knowledge on Wikipedia and being hit by a bunch of "Nice 50 sources on an article you found there, be a shame if someone just....deleted it" nonsense. Technically I'm impressed you're an inclusionist on the islands themselves though - with the Naming Database stuff; I'm avoiding anything like ledges and trying to keep the Pumpkins together right now as none of them have a single other fact (did you know they're not even geographically adjacent?!) but ugh - maybe ever Tusket Islands doesn't need its own article, but if I clearly go through and do the work to create Murder Island I don't want to see someone "who is not an asshat, clown or troll" be like "Hey guys, let's delete this! It can go elsewhere, why have it here?". I'll take your point on edit summaries to heart, makes sense. New Yathrib - Fundy Historian (talk) 16:45, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
- Over time, you'll get a better idea of how many of what kind of sources are enough to satisfy notability. In the case of Backyard History, I did feel bad about that, but ultimately the sources just weren't there. Different topics are held to different standards -- articles about web content will be scrutinized much more than articles about islands, and articles about companies and organizations receive the most scrutiny of all.
- I've been meaning to tell you, in theory, Wikipedia can actually cover every single island in New Brunswick, it's just a matter of how you go about it. If I were you, I'd take a stab at doing something with List of islands of New Brunswick and maybe divide it up by county or otherwise so you can have redirect targets. Then, you can categorize the redirects, like I've been doing at Category:Localities in Nova Scotia.
- Articles about geographical features are rarely deleted outright unless they don't actually exist. The only time an article about an island should be redirected is when there's literally nothing else to say about it but "This is the name of this island, and this is where it is located" -- see WP:GEONATURAL. When it comes to people, there's a few criteria that make someone "automatically notable", see for example WP:NPOL and WP:ANYBIO, but everyone else including Hathaway has to satisfy WP:GNG. The application of all of these guidelines will vary wildly depending on the editor and the subject matter. For a good contrast, check out the difference between Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Buck Ramsay and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bethan's Rock, two semi-recent AfDs I participated in. The one about the rock nearly killed me.
- Sorry for the rant, but the main thing I want to get across to you is don't self-censor yourself, sometimes our work will get merged/redirected/deleted and that's okay, as long as it was given a fair shot. I'm happy to give you my thoughts on whether a topic is notable before you write about it, if you're ever unsure. Cheers, MediaKyle (talk) 17:12, 10 June 2026 (UTC)

- It's not okay, because if you spend a week building up an article and finding sources for it, I'd be an asshole to be like "I'm gonna ask four other people to vote on if we just delete this effort". Anyways, separate note - I actually shifted from completing {{NBFundyIslands}} to creating {{NSFundyIslands}} (islands here referencing everything coastal in the bay of fundy, not the "Fundy Isles" which are only in the southwest, sigh) - but that is to say, I don't think I'll do riverine islands or up off Shediac or anything...just gonna keep focus on the Bay of Fundy outside the major cities - primarily islands. But for context I left Wikisource after thousands of improvements last September for the same reason..."why don't we just delete this letter by Napoleon with a public domain translation", "we don't NEED this guy's work on New Brunswick news articles from the 19th century", "why would we bother hosting Dostoyevsky if it's already elsewhere, just delete this" deletionists. Wikimedia Foundation Bulletin 2026 Issue 10
edit

Highlights
- Community Wishlist discussion: Product & Technology introduced changes meant to increase the number and complexity of wishes fulfilled, including the disbanding of the Community Tech team. They are engaging in discussions about a proposed direction for the wishlist from community members. Includes ways to structure annual voting, better tracking of wishes, removing focus areas, and staffing updates.
- Digital Public Goods: The Wikimedia Foundation has become a member of the Digital Public Goods Alliance (DPGA).
- Better bot detection: A trial of hCaptcha on several Wikipedias, including English, French, and Japanese, showed it can effectively detect and deter bad-faith automated activity, on its own and by giving checkusers and stewards signals to look into. Based on these results, hCaptcha will be rolled out across all wikis. See the project page for technical information about the implementation and privacy protections.

- A better way to give credit: The Wikimedia Attribution Framework and API makes it simple for developers to fairly credit volunteer contribution. When anyone encounters Wikimedia content, we want them to know that it comes from our projects, and they are invited to participate.
- Baby Globe joins the Reading Challenge: The Android and iOS Wikipedia apps released the 25-day reading challenge, to drive readers engagement through reading milestones. To track their reading streak during the challenge, users can add a widget featuring Baby Globe to their home screen.
- Account security: The Foundation is technically enforcing that all privileges that enable users to take security- or privacy-sensitive actions can only be held by users who have enabled two-factor authentication. Logging in with passkeys is quicker than logging in without two-factor authentication. In addition, logged-in users can see a banner encouraging them to confirm their email address. These changes secure individual accounts as well as communities and the wikis.
- Incident reporting form: The Foundation began a trial on English Wikipedia of the incident reporting form. 60% of unblocked logged-in users see a new Report button, allowing them to report conduct issues.
- Encouraging account creation: Following a successful account creation experiment, an improved logged-out edit warning message will be deployed to all Wikimedia wikis this week. The change will only affect logged-out users on mobile web who open an editing session.
- Wikimedia Android App: The Wikipedia Android App is at the Phase 1 of redesigning its Home Feed. The new feed includes two tabs: Community, featuring refreshed Explore content, and For You, with personalized reading recommendations based on reader interests and activity. The For You feed refreshes daily with updated suggestions.
- Better discovery of images: The Image Browsing beta feature was rolled out for all Wikipedias on mobile following two successful experiments. The beta feature will include a carousel of all an article’s images at the top of the article, with controls for editors to exclude images from the article’s carousel or to exclude an article from the feature entirely.
- Reading Lists feature: The Foundation is conducting an experiment to show the reading lists feature, which is still in development, to logged-out mobile readers to test whether it encourages account creation at a higher rate compared to the watchstar button. The experiment was launched on May 18 on German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Dutch, Turkish, and Urdu wikis, and will run for a month.

- Testing Suggestion Mode: Suggestion Mode was released as an A/B test for newcomer editors on the mobile website at ~15 Wikipedias. The experiment will measure its impact on the proportion of newcomer mobile web edit sessions that result in constructive (un-reverted) article edits. It will also evaluate the feature’s impact on editor retention and monitor changes in revert and block rates.
- Wikifunctions now supports Wikidata references: References in Wikidata statements are now available on Wikifunctions, and you now can use external links in Wikifunctions-generated citations. This allows the use of more than 1.3 billion references available in Wikidata and adding them as citations to individual statements in Abstract Wikipedia.
- Pilot wikis adopting Abstract Wikipedia: The Abstract Wikipedia team has identified five potential pilot wikis to assess their interest in adopting abstract articles on their wikis. The pilots are Malayalam, Bengali, Dagbani, Arabic, and Indonesian Wikipedia. If your community is interested in becoming a pilot, let us know on Meta.
- Latest experiments: An upcoming experiment is testing whether we can serve readers better when a footnote click in read mode shows the full bibliographic information rather than flying them to the reference list. See all live, upcoming, and completed experiments in Product & Technology.
- Tech News: The latest highlights from Tech News weeks 20, 21, 22, 23 include an experiment to test a new Share Card feature that allows readers to create visually engaging cards from Wikipedia articles and share them online See also the 92 community submitted tasks that were resolved over the last two weeks.

Hallo, I notice that you created this talk page, but the template documentation at {{WikiProject Disambiguation}} explicitly says: "Please do not use this template solely to create talk pages that otherwise have no content."
The Disambiguation Wikiproject is aware of all disambiguation pages, so there is no need for a project banner on the talk page. It just means that any careful editor thinking of editing the dab page will notice that there is a talk page and waste time clicking on the link to check whether there has been any discussion relevant to the change they plan to make. If the talk page is not created, the "talk" link is red, and the editor needn't waste their time.
It's an unusual quirk, because for almost every article it's constructive to create a talk page - but not for dab pages. There's always something new to learn about editing Wikipedia. Thanks, and Happy Editing! PamD 14:45, 11 June 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for the message, I never would've thought of that. I'll keep this in mind going forward. Cheers, MediaKyle (talk) 15:22, 11 June 2026 (UTC)
