Question from Catgirlsithlord (13:41, 12 March 2026)

Hello! I've been a user since elementary, but today I decided to use the sandbox for a creative project of mine. Is there anyway I can save my project without interfering with Wikipedia outside my sandbox? Thanks in advance. --Catgirlsithlord (talk) 13:41, 12 March 2026 (UTC)

@Catgirlsithlord: Yes, you can save your project in your Wikipedia sandbox without affecting the main Wikipedia pages. Your sandbox is a personal space where you can create and edit content freely. To save your project, simply make your edits in the sandbox, and click "Save page" at the bottom of the editing window. This will store your work in the sandbox, and it will not interfere with any other Wikipedia content. You can return to your sandbox anytime to continue working on your project. Happy editing! —KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 13:51, 12 March 2026 (UTC)

Clarification regarding article removal

Hello,

I noticed that in the article "Ice skating" the section I have added " Climate change impact on ice skating" was removed due to concern that it was AI generated. I would like to clarify that the new section I wrote myself.

If there are specific parts that raised concern, I would appreciate your feedback.

I have also decide to remove last paragraph in order to keep my section focused and organized.

Thank you. Aghavni Ghazayan (talk) 22:42, 4 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from Canadianeditorbeginner (05:57, 9 April 2026)

Hello there! I've just made this account, and i have a couple questions about editing, mostly just pictures i want to add to pages.

As an editor, am i allowed to use the Snipping Tool available on Windows 11? Or will i have to use some other method, as the Snipping Tool is pretty much the only way i know how to crop pictures.

And, will i be able to use pictures from websites such as Goodreads?

And lastly, will any drafts i create be publicly viewed? Or will it be private. (I am a bit self-conscious with drafts i make being publically viewed.)

I'm sorry if any of these questions seems "stupid" or "simple", I'm very new to editing, and i am a bit overwhelmed right now. But, i still hope to make the changes and make new pages for media i want to see in Wikipedia. --Canadianeditorbeginner (talk) 05:57, 9 April 2026 (UTC)

@Canadianeditorbeginner: 1. Yes, you can using the Snipping Tool to crop pictures; 2. You cannot use pictures from websites like Goodreads unless they are licensed for reuse; and 3. Drafts you create will be private until you publish them. —KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 06:56, 9 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from LawhernR (14:01, 11 April 2026)

I speak and write widely on public health policy for management of severe pain and addiction. I have over 350 papers published in the field. How can I be placed on a Wikipedia list of routine peer reviewers and editors for this field? --LawhernR (talk) 14:01, 11 April 2026 (UTC)

@LawhernR: You can request to be added to the Wikipedia list of routine peer reviewers and editors by creating an account, demonstrating your expertise through your contributions, and then reaching out to relevant WikiProjects or editors in the field of public health or addiction. —KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 14:11, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
My expertise is demonstrated in the many papers I have published as an author or co-author with clinical professionals. Two of those professionals are already noted as major contributors in author pages of Wikipedia. I was also recognized in 2025 for this work by Marquise Who's Who.
I will spend some time reviewing existing postings here to see where I might offer something of value.
Regards, LawhernR (talk) 14:53, 11 April 2026 (UTC)
Your expertise and recognition are impressive. —KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 15:01, 11 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from Portersp (00:40, 27 April 2026)

Hi there. I’m from New Zealand and ANZAC Day is very important to me and to many others Kiwis and Australians. I’m irritated that Anzac as a term is becoming commonplace. I see it is as diminishing the terror rained down on ordinary people made Into soldiers for a war they had no say in. I’d like to be able to right this wrong. Can you suggest how I can change Anzac to its rightful form? Many thanks for your consideration. --Portersp (talk) 00:40, 27 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from Gabriel Fornal (07:36, 30 April 2026)

How do I use images from Wikipedia Commons? --Gabriel Fornal (talk) 07:36, 30 April 2026 (UTC)

@Gabriel Fornal: To use the file from Wikimedia Commons, search for and find one of many existing image files, or upload your own file. Knowing the file's page name you can then edit your page and refer to that file to insert it into your wikitext. Take for example, File:Wikipedesketch.png. Use the following all on one line (with no line breaks). Then the results will be as shown in the image:
[[File:Wikipedesketch.png|thumb|alt=A cartoon centipede ... detailed description.|The Wikipede edits ''[[Myriapoda]]''.]]
See the full page at Help:Files#Using files for the instructions. —KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 07:53, 30 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from Gta from temu on 2026 Miami Grand Prix (20:47, 3 May 2026)

Failed to consistently warn editors when reverting vandalism

Hey, @Staticspector. Before granting your rollback rights, the following reason:

I see that you are failing to consistently warn editors when you revert their edits (e.g. 1, 2, 3). Are you aware that we have tool such as Twinkle, RedWarn, or Ultraviolet that make this extremely easy? Could you respond please? Kindly regards, —KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 05:08, 9 May 2026 (UTC)

Hi @KuyaMoHirowo, thanks for the advice on the tools. I've already added twinkle to my toolbar and I will be looking into Redwarn and Ultraviolet. I'll make sure to be more consistent with the warning from now on. Thanks for the help! Staticspector (talk) 22:02, 9 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from Katie at LaSalle Investment (17:45, 13 May 2026)

Hello there! I've been doing some very very minor updates. For example I bolded the word "LaSalle". I'm realizing in retrospect that maybe I needed to ask for permission for that, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to do minor changes on my own like that? I'm about to send over a formal request for Management changes that I know I'm not allowed to do on my own. Just looking for some clarification, thank you for your help!

Wondery

There was a TA category vandal that was removing applicable categories; was merely reverting their incorrect edits, and Disney did inherit the company then sold it after a year, thus the category was correct and will be restored. Please don't template warn a long-term editor before examining all edits from a TA. 18:20, 21 May 2026 (UTC) Nathannah📮 18:20, 21 May 2026 (UTC)

Reversion of new scancode definition

Hi there, I noticed you reverted my new scancode definition (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Scancode&diff=prev&oldid=1356210407). While I understand that it is not welcomed to add unsourced information to wikipedia, the original paragraph that I edited was itself unsourced. I do not understand why the author of the original paragraph was allowed to add unsourced information (and in my opinion, inaccurate information) to this wikipedia page whereas I'm not allowed to improve accuracy of that paragraph (even if it's unsourced). This isn't quite fair. Sawgotchy (talk) 12:29, 26 May 2026 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) The edit has some problems to fix. Please see Don't cite Wikipedia on Wikipedia. Images are generally not appropriate for citations, and reference formatting generally don't include any commentary notes. 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk 14:10, 26 May 2026 (UTC)
Please see Don't cite Wikipedia on Wikipedia.
I clarified my use of language by referencing a wikipedia definition. The rule "Do not cite Wikipedia" is not applicable in this case for the obvious reason that I did not use it as a source of information.
Images are generally not appropriate for citations
I did not use an image as a citation.
and reference formatting generally don't include any commentary notes
You're wrong. It's actually a widespread practice and you can find it often, even in this article.
Sawgotchy (talk) 22:20, 26 May 2026 (UTC)
@Sawgotchy: See Special:AbuseLog/44296598, which you are triggered the edit filter. —KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 22:46, 26 May 2026 (UTC)
@KuyaMoHirowo: I'd appreciate if you would actually read my response. I already explained the reason. Is the edit filter the only reason you reverted my edit? Can I assume that you're okay with me reverting your reversion since it's unresonable?
Sawgotchy (talk) 00:35, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
You cannot cite Wikipedia as a reliable source per WP:RSPWP unless your edits has been reverted. —KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 00:44, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
@KuyaMoHirowo: This is a misunderstanding. The original reference note was

"uniquely identify" refers to a N:1 mapping according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unique_identifier.

What I did here was clarifying terminology. The wikipedia link is more of a redirection, a wikilink, than a source of information. I clarified the use of language and added a wikipedia article that addresses this language construct.
Since the use of language does not require sources this wikipedia article cannot be classified as "source".
Just because there is a wikipedia link in the reference does not mean wikipedia was used as a source.
If that were the case wikipedia would automatically block all such cases.
You should've properly read and understood what exactly the reference states before you unilaterally reverted my edit.
I do acknowledge that this is prone to misunderstandings as in your case.
So I'll revise my edit to make it more clear which I should've done from the beginning. Sawgotchy (talk) 19:03, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
You may also by adding "see also" section like this:
== See also ==
* [[Unique identifier]]
KuyaMoHirowo (talkcontribs) 22:57, 27 May 2026 (UTC)
Get over it; users get reverted all the time and it's part of the collaboration process. Reverts may simply mean "this edit is not ready to go public".
Users should not use Wikipedia as a <ref> object. 海盐沙冰 / aka irisChronomia / Talk 04:35, 28 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from V.IV Rusty (12:07, 28 May 2026)

Hi! It seems like a pretty common issue with articles that need copyediting is "This article contains wording that promotes the subject in a subjective manner without imparting real information." How do you suggest going about fixing this? For example, this articlhttps://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Najwa_Karam&gesuggestededit=1 seems fairly decent from a glance, albeit with a lot of info that maybe is not needed. Do you have advice for trying to fix these types of articles? Thanks so much! --V.IV Rusty (talk) 12:07, 28 May 2026 (UTC)
