A draft it shows you submitted was held as a "Promising draft". I added some content and references, and since notability was not an issue, approved creation as Dingle International Film Festival. Thanks for your submission, -- Otr500 (talk) 07:25, 21 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

city map

edit

Hi! Thanks for the edits. If you've got anymore just add them to the end - I am renumbering everything by hand!! cheers, -- phoebe / (talk to me) 22:50, 31 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Phoebe:Ha, thanks. I spent a lot of time last night getting the coordinates by hand. Glad I don't have to do that today. That's what wikipedia's all about. Have a good day. Kire1975 (talk) 22:57, 31 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Kire1975: I think we about have this map thing under control! I'll put in the article when this batch of renumbering is done. Collaboration!!!! -- phoebe / (talk to me) 23:03, 31 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Phoebe: I'm going to be adding more as I find them, one or two at a time usually. Just found Augusta, Georgia. So if you want to hold off until the end of your day instead of renumbering over and over all day, that's up to you. Thanks again for the good communication. Kire1975 (talk) 23:14, 31 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
at this point I'd say let's just go ahead and add them to the end -- it's live in the article right now and I don't think it hurts it for them to be out of alphabetical order or anything (just increment the numbers at the end as you go). Once there's a bunch of new cities, we could make one more pass and alphabetize / renumber? Also, I added an idea on the talk page to make the largest protests large size markers - what do you think? -- phoebe / (talk to me) 23:17, 31 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

December 2020

edit

Please read WP:WTRMT, especially point #6. You are putting in dubious tags without initiating any discussion on the article's talk page to support the placement of the tag. WTRMT clearly says "If the tagging editor failed to do so and there is no other support for the template, it can be removed." --Guy Macon (talk) 05:45, 17 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Attn Guy Macon. The reasons for the tags are obvious and the discussion was already started on the talk page about the non-neutral party making edits on the page yesterday here. If you had a question or a suggestion for improvement, you could have asked politely instead of making wild accusations. See WP:NORESVAND. Kire1975 (talk) 06:08, 17 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Guy Macon: Adding italics for empasisis here: "If the tagging editor failed to do so and there is no other support for the template, it can be removed." Did you look to see if there was any other support on the page for the reasons for the tags before publicly accusing me of being a bad faith editor? Kire1975 (talk) 06:23, 17 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yes. Yes I did. Not a single existing section of Talk:Integrity (band) talked about promotional editing, over detailed, or any of your other tags. The only recent discussion is about COI and you failed to use any of the tags listed at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#Templates. --Guy Macon (talk) 07:22, 17 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Sections don't talk. Quit WP:GASLIGHTING. Write me up on a noticeboard. I can defend myself. Just leave this page alone. Kire1975 (talk) 07:30, 17 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please do not change ref names in citations

edit

Hi Kire1975, I noticed that on Hilaria Baldwin you have changed the ref name of a citation to a single digit number. Please don't do that anymore. I am changing it back, because numbers are insufficiently memorable and too easily confused with one another. You may need to switch to editing source code rather than using the visual editor in order to prevent this in the future. Thank you. Softlavender (talk) 01:23, 29 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Thank you Softlavender, for pointing that out, could you link to the edit you are referring to please? I made multiple edits to citations on that page in the last few minutes using visual editor to expand them to proper citations instead of just URLs. It seems like it might be something that happened automatically with visual editor. Perhaps you could take it up with the creators of that function. Kire1975 (talk) 01:29, 29 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
    • Here: ; my correction is here: . Also, please use {{cite news}} instead of {{cite web}} unless the item is very obviously not a news article; and please do not put anything except human names in the "first" and "last" fields; my corrections of those edits are here . If you edit and view via source code rather than visual editor, you will be less likely to make these mistakes (you will also be taken more seriously as a Wikipedia editor). Softlavender (talk) 01:38, 29 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Softlavender Your problem with me raised an interesting question so I found WP:VEF and suggested a new project to make the add citation tool in visual editor allow for "cite web" and "cite news" and the other things you requested. Please bear in mind that the reason I rely on visual editor so much is that I am disabled with Focal dystonia in my dominant hand and Vitelliform macular dystrophy in one of my eyes so your personal attack about how I would be taken more seriously as a Wikipedia editor if I did it your way was not necessary. If you would like to act WP:BOLDLY and contribute to this project instead of making future personal attacks and walking away when someone else does the same thing I did, you can find the discussion here. Warmest regards. Kire1975 (talk) 04:59, 9 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

        • Softlavender, I was directed to point you here and point out that "There is no reason to use "cite news" in favor of "cite web", except for very specific circumstances described." Thank you again for your suggestion. Hopefully, you will see that you don't need to make it again in the future. Regards.-- Kire1975 (talk) 16:16, 9 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

ANI Notice

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is Kire1975. Thank you. Guy Macon (talk) 02:04, 6 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Guy Macon has been asked twice to leave my talk page alone, yet still he persists. Kire1975 (talk) 04:41, 6 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Regardless of any request to stay off your talk page, there are certain notices for which it is mandatory to post to your talk page. The above ANI notice is one such notice. 86.142.79.215 (talk) 14:00, 6 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
The ANI discussion is not mandatory, though. That's my point. Thanks, Kire1975 (talk) 15:01, 6 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
It is not compulsory for you to contribute to the ANI discussion. It is compulsory for anyone starting a discussion about you to post the ANI notice to your talk page - as the BIG RED box on the ANI page states. 86.142.79.215 (talk) 15:11, 6 January 2021 (UTC)😊Reply
Thanks 86.142.79.215. It is not compulory to post an ANI discussion. Your pedanticism is noted. I would like you to stop posting here now. Thanks. 15:15, 6 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Topic ban notice

edit

As requested at my talk page, here is a copy of the topic ban and its reasoning from ANI on 8 January 2021: "Kire1975 is indefinitely topic banned from Dwid Hellion and the band Integrity, including all articles, talk pages, and discussion boards. Kire1975 is also subject to a one-way interaction ban, to not interact with Guy Macon. Kire1975 is formally warned to respect WP:BLP policy at all times, including on talk pages and discussion boards, and to not cast aspersions about other editors. Reasoning: it can be difficult to handle COI editing by article subjects, but Kire1975's editing and comments amount to a campaign against the subject, with no sign of de-escalation once it was brought here. This WP:BATTLEGROUND approach extends to how Kire1975 discusses the reporting user, Guy Macon, inappropriately linking to irrelevant commentary on an essay and by disgruntled blocked users in an attempt to discredit him. Kire1975 is not a new editor. The dismissal of previous BLP warnings is concerning and further such breaches of BLP policy will lead to additional sanctions." Listing film festivals.

edit

Hi. Please do not list every single film festival a film has been shown at, such as at Drive My Car and The Worst Person in the World. Per Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Film#Release only noteworthy screenings should be mentioned. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 09:17, 9 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Lugnuts: That's a relief actually. Thank you. Kire1975 (talk) 10:20, 9 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Lugnuts: Hi. I see here and here that you've removed the lists completely. If a film festival has its own Wikipedia page, it is by definition notable. I understood your quibble to be with the length of the lists, and I agree. However, would it not add value to include a limited number of screenings at notable film festivals? The first instance I can remember discussing this matter was two years ago on the page for The Irishman and there was considerable consensus about the issue and none of it was in favor of omitting all film festivals besides the exceptionally newsworthy ones. If the list is longer than four or five festivals, there is a hierarchy of festivals that can be prioritized, no? Again, I am grateful that I don't have to continue the pattern I've been following, but omitting everything just seems like the nuclear option. Peace. Kire1975 (talk) 11:15, 9 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi. It's not about the notability of the festival itself, but if the screenings are noteworthy. As far as I can tell, apart from the first screening in Toronoto, the rest of the screenings aren't noteworthy. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 11:17, 9 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi again @Lugnuts:. Per WP:NOTEWORTHY, "Notability guidelines do not apply to content within articles or lists." Is there an WP:UNDUE issue you see? Does it conflict with one of the other WP:CONPOL policies mentioned in WP:NCC? Do you plan on hunting down every film page that has a list of film festivals and deleting everything? That sounds like a lot of work, and for what purpose? Thanks again. Kire1975 (talk) 11:30, 9 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
I'm going per the MOS for film articles. I'll remove them as and when I find them. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 11:32, 9 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi! In your recent comment at AN you might want to include a link to Reesorville's barnstar that you're referring to, which is on their user-page. Otherwise someone might look on their talk-page, where there's only one barnstar, and it's for their collaboration with me on the "Biblical passage" section of Christianity and abortion, where, to my surprise actually, we were able to agree on NPOV-compliant text. So it's only the barnstar on the user-page that illustrates your point. Thanks. NightHeron (talk) 13:52, 30 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

It seems that your User talk page discussions are being archived to User talk:Kire1975 1, while your clickable archive links are for User talk:Kire1975/Archive 1. That's confusing. Is that intentional? If not, I can offer to help fix the problem. — BarrelProof (talk) 01:38, 16 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

It's not intentional. The template says "Sections older than 14 days may be automatically archived by ClueBot III." To the best of my knowledge, this is the first time this has happened. I would like to know how to fix the problem. Thanks, User:BarrelProof. Kire1975 (talk) 02:29, 16 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
In addition to the incorrect prefix, you seem to have misunderstood the |age= parameter. Notice how rapidly it archived our previous discussion â€“ I think it interprets the age parameter in hours, not days. I tried changing the pathname prefix. I also temporarily changed the age parameter to 1, which I think means 1 hour. Let's wait to see if that causes this conversation to be archived to the right place, then merge the archive contents and change the age parameter to 336 (14 times 24). — BarrelProof (talk) 17:07, 16 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Accusation of "deliberate misinformation", etc.

edit

I'm responding to your comment here on my Talk page, as well as your unfounded accusation of "deliberate misinformation". First, you'll have to show me the edit with which I failed to include a proper summary; I believe you're mistaken. More importantly, all editors deserve a minimum level of respect, and there was no cause for you to violate WP:AGF and WP:NPA. I deliberately choose to shrug off such ugliness and to respond substantively, in the hopes of building a better encyclopedia. There's no need to correspond on individual Talk pages—however, I'm doing you the courtesy of responding to your request. I hope you'll consider an apology for your intemperate accusation. Even more, I hope you'll engage in intellectually honest discussion of the material, as well as the merits of my edits, in the appropriate forum: the article Talk page. Edit to the Bikers Against Child Abuse Wiki

Good day,

My name is Puck and I am the North American Continental Public Relations Officer for Bikers Against Child Abuse (B.A.C.A.). reverted copy edits on Colorado Springs nightclub shooting

edit

Hi, I don't understand? Please explain your reversions. Thanks. 98.155.8.5 (talk) 09:10, 1 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

User:98.155.8.5: Explain the edit on the talk page. Which rollback? How were your edits affected? Use evidence. Outright calling someone a troll and saying something is "simple" in wikivoice is very controversial. Kire1975 (talk) 09:12, 1 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Huh? Please read the cited source from Vice: The Far Right Is Already Attacking the Club Q Hero
Here is a key quote: "... for far-right trolls on platforms like Truth Social, Gettr, Parler, Gab, and Telegram, Fierro’s actions should not be met with praise, but with vitriol and anger." (The article provides more specific detail if you read on, and please do!)
The reliable source uses the word "troll" in reference to multiple on-line attacks against Fierro, so yes, we can also use that language in wikivoice (and if you pay close attention to the language I used in the Wikipedia article, nobody in particular is being called a troll, it is more a description of the behavior of "provocating/trolling" by various people leaving public comments on the Internet). I wrote "troll" to avoid writing "far-right provocateur" two times in a row. Does that make sense? It is simply an improvement of the language to avoid redundancy. 98.155.8.5 (talk) 09:52, 1 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
And this is the unrelated rollback which affected some previous intermediate edits, like mine. It actually would help to look at the revision history, and you can see the edits that got reverted in the blanket rollback, going back to the version of the page by Peleio Aquiles (revision 1130117791). Cheers! 98.155.8.5 (talk) 09:30, 1 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Re: NJ climate

edit

Could you perhaps better explain what you think the original research is? The map is at the source and shows the southern borders of NJ as Cfa, even if you can't make it out for whatever reason; I was just pointing you to the same exact map at a local source so you could better verify it. Alternatively, you can download it from the links in the source, which may alleviate whatever issue keeps you from zooming in enough: https://www.gloh2o.org/koppen/ or https://figshare.com/articles/dataset/Present_and_future_K_ppen-Geiger_climate_classification_maps_at_1-km_resolution/6396959/2. --Xanzzibar (talk) 03:52, 10 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for asking @Xanzzibar:. There are two maps in the document. I've taken the liberty to screenshot the relevant portions below:
  • Part (a) shows the present-day map (1980–2016).
  • panel (b) the future map (2071–2100)
Part (a) might cover just the southernmost portion of Cape May etc. but there are no borders and nothing in the document even mentions the state in writing. To deduce that that's what is in the eye of the beholder, aka WP:OR.
Assuming the 2071 in panel (b) is a typo and they meant to say 2017-2100, panel (a) is clearly marked as no later as 2017. That was six years ago. We can't say that is "present-day." That is not acceptable per WP:RELTIME. The only other map in the document appears to show Cfa as high a Cape Cod, Massachusetts and indubitably covers the entire state of New Jersey. Still no borders. Still no written mention of Cfa in New Jersey at all. Deducing it so is WP:OR.
If part (a) is the authoritative map, then it was no longer authoritative as of seven years ago. If panel (b) is to be considered reliable, then it covers the entire state of New Jersey and not just the southernmost portions. But, the only way to verify it is to eyeball it. That requires WP:ANALYSIS and WP:SYNTHESIS which is forbidden by WP:OR, so in my opinion a better source is needed.
I guess we should copy this into discussion at Talk:New Jersey, huh? Kire1975 (talk) 09:12, 10 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
It's simple enough to tack an "As of 2016," preface onto the statement if you're concerned about relative time with the classification. I disagree that basic map-reading is OR (WP:MAPCITE), especially when it's so unambiguous (https://i.imgur.com/HCukACc.png), but I'm not really interested in debating it further. Do as you wish. --Xanzzibar (talk) 11:02, 10 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Changes in Sean Baker page

edit

Hello @Kire1975. I've seen that you have reversed a change I did in the page Sean Baker. I wanted to explain to you the reason. I found clearer using "US-American" than "American", because American can be also a person living in any place of the continent, while US-American is more concrete and makes clearer that the person is a citizen of the US. Sjoel (talk) 09:43, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Sjoel: - please read my edit summary. It says See MOS:NATIONALITY. Wikipedia standard nationality for citizens of the United States is simply American. George Floyd Protests Talk Page

edit

Look - I am a 45 year old man, I have two advanced degrees and have worked as a journalist trained in AP style - so Im not a troll or a 'right winger' - I simply noticed that the George Floyd Protest (like many other Wiki entries) is heavily biased with sources from the left. It's bad enough that Wikipedia finds Mother Jones and Vox to be reliable, yet not actual newspapers like the New York Post. It's bad enough that the George Floyd page needs to be locked at all. Yet - are you telling me that I can't even discuss apparent biases or omissions on the talk page? Based environmentalist (talk) 16:26, 30 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Place of residence for Ken Kelsch

edit

The source you cite in this edit from The Hollywood Reporter (see here) to establish Ken Kelsch as a notable from Hackettstown, New Jersey, says that "Kelsch died Monday at Hackettstown Medical Center in New Jersey", but doesn't say that he lived there. Am I missing something in the source? Alansohn (talk) 17:51, 24 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Alansohn: His home address is listed in several yellowpage type sites. I won't link to those here for obvious reasons, but it's also in WP:SELFSOURCE's like his goodreads profile, his mandy.com audition page, as well as his mother's obituary. Feel free to add what you see fit. Good enough? Kire1975 (talk) 19:16, 24 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yellowpage sites are not reliable, I don't see a mention in goodreads and I'm not sure that the other sources meet the standard. But can I ask that you pick the best you can find among those sources that explicitly connects him to Hackettstown and replace the THR source which manes no mention of the town? I'll try to look elsewhere, but I haven't had much luck, myself. Alansohn (talk) 19:25, 24 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Alansohn use Ctrl+F to find Hackettstown on the goodreads profile. The standard is on WP:SELFSOURCE. There is no reasonable doubt as to him being a resident of Hackettstown since before 2009. I would say the best one would be the Mandy.com profile, but leaving it there without it being at least accompanied by the THR article would raise even more red flags. Can we move this discussion to Talk:Hackettstown, New Jersey and seek a consensus please? Kire1975 (talk) 19:38, 24 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Im messaging you because you can edit the talk page and seem to have reasonable objectivity

I would have liked to mention that, in the Background section, there is a sentence which says Antisemitic violence has increased worldwide since oct 7th. The cited source though doesnt say this. The Reuters article says:

"Antisemitic incidents have surged in the Netherlands since Israel launched its assault on the Palestinian enclave of Gaza after the attacks on Israel by Hamas militants in October last year, with many Jewish organisations and schools reporting threats and hate mail."

Not worldwide. And not violence but rather incidents.

Comment: Engage01 asked me on my talk page to weigh in, which I'll do as an unofficial sort of "third opinion" (as opposed the the "make them stop" attitude I received). I this case, I think I see the miscommunication here: while the uploader on Flickr claims that the photo was taken in Belvedere, the geolocation data seems to imply that the photo was taken in an area next to, but not quite at, the Belvedere.
Now, in the interest of fairness, one could make the argument that the information should be removed because the exact building where it occurred is trivial. However, I think that the geolocation data is close enough that it can be reasonably concluded the picture was taken where the author says it was; after all, location sensors are not perfect now, let alone 11 years ago when the picture was published. With that in mind, I personally would not endorse removing the Belvedere from that photo solely on the basis of it being at "the wrong place on the map". Leafy46 (talk) 02:19, 2 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
It's not only the geolocation. FM4 is a station, specifically one aimed at youth. It's not in Belvedere and has never had anything to do with there. Glad there is much interest in something kind of trivial. Let's all move along now. Engage01 (talk) 02:28, 2 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
Belvedere, Vienna appears to be a large complex of buildings. This is pure WP:OR on Engage01's part. Now they're discounting the geolocation information that I did not know about before.
As to the claim that FM4 is a station, that doesn't mean much. Radio statiions have been recording from external venues for many decades. Even if @Engage01 was personally there, it's still WP:OR.
the "Let's all move along now" quip is just a WP:PERSONALATTACK for which this editor has already received three warnings here, here and here. Begging me not to contact him over and over when I have legitimate reasons to contact him is just WP:BLUDGEONING and setting me up for more WP:PERSONALATTACKS. I'm going to give a level 4 warning and based on past behavior, be prepared to participate in an ANI discussion. Kire1975 (talk) 02:38, 2 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Belvedere is two buildings. Engage01 (talk) 02:48, 2 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
The photo being referenced is from a FM4 Radio session at Radiokulturhaus which as I have said is one block away from Belvedere. The photographer could have made mistakes or did not label everything completely or just in error. The album of photos says FM4 Radio session. Then FM4 has had more than one address and location as well. Engage01 (talk) 04:54, 2 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics

edit

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days, and you are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on any page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

TarnishedPath Is the reason for this reversion solely because I didn't have the "aware a-i" template on my talk page or was there some other reason? You didn't leave an edit summary. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Kire1975 (talk) 10:18, 2 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I didn't leave an edit summary because I didn't want to draw attention to the reasons for removing it. I presume you read the entire article which you posted the link for? TarnishedPathtalk 10:23, 2 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
TarnishedPath - the article is the source for The Daily Wire and the National Review articles already in the template. Hence the reference to WP:CHURNALISM in my original edit summary. If you have an answer to the question I asked you about the reason for the reversion above, you are invited to speak plainly. Kire1975 (talk) 11:15, 2 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
The Tablet story has content which neither The Daily Wire, nor the National Review have. Refer to WP:OUTING. TarnishedPathtalk 11:25, 2 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
User talk:TarnishedPath Okay. Got it. Thanks. The Daily Wire and National Review contain links to the Tablet story. Is that not still Outing? Should they be removed? Kire1975 (talk) 11:36, 2 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I didn't see the links. I'd say yes. TarnishedPathtalk 11:53, 2 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I was just about to do it, but I had an edit conflict because you beat me to it. TarnishedPathtalk 12:01, 2 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I omitted the edit summary for the reasons you mentioned above. Should I delete this conversation from the talk page as well? Kire1975 (talk) 12:02, 2 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I've already emailed an oversighter. Once they revdel everything the diff you link above will be useless. You can delete this if it makes you feel more comfortable, but I don't think it will make a difference. TarnishedPathtalk 12:07, 2 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Your arbitration enforcement request

edit

Hi Kire1975, I just closed your arbitration enforcement request at WP:AE § ILoveRichardSimmons, because ILoveRichardSimmons has been indefinitely blocked from article space as a result of the incidents noticeboard discussion you started at WP:ANI § User:ILoveRichardSimmons persistent vandalism of recently deceased comedy actors' pages. I understand that you filed the enforcement request after reading TarnishedPath's advice, but their advice to go to WP:AE would only be applicable if ILoveRichardSimmons engaged in further misconduct within the WP:CT/BLP contentious topic after the currently active ANI discussion is closed. Both WP:ANI and WP:AE are noticeboards for resolving user conduct disputes, and we generally do not want to have discussions about the same incident on both noticeboards at once.

Since this was the first enforcement request you filed, I want to provide some tips that would be useful if you ever needed to file another enforcement request in the future:

  • WP:AE can only handle user conduct disputes related to contentious topics (and community-designated contentious topics). When an editor makes a disruptive edit that is not within a contentious topic, it is outside the scope of WP:AE and would be more suitable for WP:ANI, which does not have topic area limitations. I mention this because your filing included the diff Special:Diff/1334499936, which appears to be about a fictional character that would not be covered by WP:CT/BLP (living or recently deceased subjects of biographical content on Wikipedia articles).
  • In the "...supply evidence that the user is aware of them..." section, for each contentious topic the report is filed under, we are looking for one piece of evidence that shows that the editor in question meets meets the awareness criteria. This usually refers to a contentious topic alert like {{Contentious topics/alert/first}} or {{Contentious topics/alert}} (such as the one sent by TarnishedPath at Special:Diff/1335815476). Your filing only lists the WP:CT/BLP contentious topic, so the only text needed in the "...supply evidence that the user is aware of them..." section would have been:
Alerted about discretionary sanctions or contentious topics in the area of conflict, on 31 January 2026 (see the system log linked to above).
  • Please keep in mind that, in an enforcement request, the only edits by the editor in question that are given full consideration are the ones they made after meeting the awareness criteria for the relevant contentious topic. All three diffs in your enforcement request show edits that were made before TarnishedPath sent the contentious topic alert, so there would be no qualifying edits for the issue you filed. In this situation, WP:ANI would be more appropriate because it does not enforce an awareness requirement for contentious topics.

Thank you for reporting this incident to the community, and I hope you find the above information useful. — Newslinger talk 14:33, 2 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

I understand that you filed the enforcement request after reading TarnishedPath's advice, but their advice to go to WP:AE would only be applicable if ILoveRichardSimmons engaged in further misconduct within the WP:CT/BLP contentious topic after the currently active ANI discussion is closed.
100% correct. TarnishedPathtalk 13:38, 4 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
The next time their behaviour is outside of community norms, please take it to WP:AE.
Nothing there about doing it after the currently active ANI discussion is closed. Kire1975 (talk) 18:26, 4 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Your diff: TruConnect edit: "neither the words "truconnect" not the numbers listed on this page are found in these spreadsheets, removed" ~ I see clearly on the source attached to the claim, this source, the number 195,751 (under Telscape communications, i.e. TruConnect previous branding). You claimed that number was not there, were you careless, or lying? Radlrb33 (talk) 11:01, 11 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

I used the find feature on excel. Kindly don't cast aspersions again.
Additionally, why did you "thank" this edit on my talk page from November 2015? Kire1975 (talk) 11:12, 11 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
In this case of a "thank", I am gathering possible evidence of dishonesty, that is all; evidence that tends to support the notion that editors keep battling me with time stamps and bytes; it seems to me you took personally the existence of 1,452 bytes added for a total of 2,086 bytes on this upload of mine, as part of edits for Eye of Providence (see revision history), for edits between 28 December 2025, and February 10 of 2026 to be be most specific, the edit of your that I *thanked* removed 2,086 bytes). Radlrb33 (talk) 12:12, 12:23; 11 February 2026 (UTC)
the existence of 1,452 bytes added for a total of 2,086 bytes on what now? Kire1975 (talk) 12:28, 11 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
😂 thank you, you make it really easy for me. Radlrb33 (talk) 12:29, 11 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Could you explain what that means please? Are you saying that you caused an alert on my page by thanking me at 4 in the morning my time because an edit I made anticipated the number of characters you made in an edit three months later because it had the same number of characters in it? Kire1975 (talk) 03:05, 12 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Regarding the edit summary on this edit, if you knew these were PRs (I didn't realize they were just re-linked data from Tru), you should have removed them right away, instead of seeing if I knew what was going on. I never heard of you until you reverted my 5 three week old edit 14 hours ago. Nothing was directed at you. Kire1975 (talk) 11:21, 11 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
You didn't answer whether you were careless, or lying; with that feature if you input it as is (195,751), the number is "found" on the Excel sheet, so your assertion is false. I did not cast aspersions, I asked either way, which is my right.
For my edit summary, it didn't even have to be about me ~ you should have just done what you knew needed to be done which is remove the PR sources: you clearly waited to see if another editor would actually act on that template you added, since you very quickly afterward acted on improving the article by removing these (that's called, baiting, here in an effort to try and minimize another editor by attempting to show what was not known by that editor).
What is this diff here that you said I reverted you? That is neither my IP, nor my username, so that has nothing to do with me; and seems like an evasion, yet again. That's three false claims/evasions, so there seems to be room to believe you are not being honest. Radlrb33 (talk) 12:05, 11 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=TruConnect&oldid=prev&diff=1337674295 <--this is the edit you reverting me that I meant to post
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=TruConnect&oldid=prev&diff=133767429 <---this is a typo, it's missing the 5 at the end Kire1975 (talk) 12:19, 11 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Uncle Floyd Vivino

edit

Someone is editing this page and changing Floyd's name. I don't believe it is malicious, probably someone who thinks they are doing the right thing. For the record, Floyd's name is Floyd Vivino. (His middle name is John but he never used that.) His name was and will always be Floyd. It was never Florio.

This is an important issue now that Floyd has passed since a discrepancy about his name could affect contracts he had signed as well as his estate.

I do have a conflict of interest, according to the Wikipedia rules, since I have known and worked with Floyd for decades. But who better to know Floyd's real name? It doesn't make sense to take the word of a stranger over mine.

The edits I am making are only to ensure the article contains the truth. They are not promotional in any way.

David Burd (talk) 22:39, 24 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

It doesn’t matter whether your edits are promotional or not or even whether you’re correct or not. As someone with a, now admitted, conflict of interest, you are required to follow the guidelines. NJZombie (talk) 23:12, 24 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
The "conflict of interest" is Wikipedia's definition, not mine. I do not believe I am doing anything wrong, just telling the truth.
I guess I shouldn't have used my real name. But, again, I'm being honest. David Burd (talk) 23:48, 24 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Welcome to Wikipedia. There's a lot of reading. Good luck. Kire1975 (talk) 00:05, 25 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
